What about it makes you uncomfortable? They hardly kissed compared to most of what you see these days. Was it because his boyfriend is white?
-
Impressive... Lollipop and c-sucker in the same post about a gay player. Could you be anymore of a stereotype?
-
This is precisely my problem with carry laws... Stupid meaningless arguments become homicide. People don't think this would happen in schools or libraries or anywhere if we added more guns? We don't think an angry teacher or student or who knows could simply cross that line? ... They already do everywhere else. http://aattp.org/two-proud-gun-nuts-second-amendment-death-road-rage-incident/

Well nine are from up here... They are all DC folk. They'll split there. I think she'll get some more votes there. I think Brown has an advantage up here because I'd the link to O'Malley... Not because he's loved but because the name is recognized. I will hold out how that Mizuer can make some in roads with the time left before the vote.
-
If she can have a few other appearances like that one she can show up... I just don't know how much free publicity she'll get from events like last night. But man the other two are wind bags and nothing more. Gansler especially just make my skin crawl.
-
Heather Mizeur had a solid night in the primary debate last night. Gsnsler and Brown looked both like slimy politicians and five year olds calling names. She sounded like a Mom who knew how to avoid the crap and say what had to be said

If we had access to gas we'd switch but we don't. We pay about $600 for a task refill three times a winter... It's a pain but not horrible. I like that my electric status flat. I am more annoyed that our oil tank and like have frozen several times in our two years here... This year we were without heat five or six times mostly for a few hours but twice for more than 48 hours. Luckily my parents are 5 minutes away and the wife's are only two. So we just pack up for a few...
-
Ha. My build are under control... Except my oil bill. And with baby in house we've had to keep running the heat a bit in the late evenings to avoid her freaking out.

Apparently it has been getting better but they wanted extent which is why they went to Andrews. I would rest him through the week but bet he'll be catching by Saturday.

Cleetz... I think the problem is what papa said about really not knowing the deadline until it passes. I mean, unless we want to be in a situation like the movies where a manned space mission has to save us... Or the world ends. It takes us years if not decades to notice trends and environmental changes... Even when we identify a species as endangered we are rarely able to save it. What happens when it's a species we care about? What happens when a decade after the black rhino goes extinct (it just did), we realize it was critical to the sustaining of its ecosystem and the survival of other species? I think part of that is a moral question. But I think part is a tremendous economic question that you can't just put off forever. It is entirely possible that we destroy the world as we know it so that it not only hurts other living things but also ourselves. And I buy that tech will help us in many ways, but is a barren earth and human life surviving on aqua culture and genetically created synthetic beef the happy outcome?

Oh, easily. In fact, probably done into the middle of next year at least. Would be devastating - though would make him a more affordable (and riskier) resign. Just sucks. He's had a great year a the plate so far...
-
Yahoo and others reporting he'll see Dr Andrews tomorrow while the team is in Florida about elbow soreness that has persisted. Fear is it is a torn ligament that could require Tommy John surgery. Great way to continue a killer start to the season for him. But good thing we got Clevenger who has shown he can hit so far.
-
So... That says human contributions likely but not 100% certain. And your response is not good enough? What I don't get us that I am hardly the greenest guy out there or even close. In fact I do nothing particularly green at all - in part because of cost and in part because of laziness. So I'm not exactly a prude yelling, "no driving and no fun!" I don't even use recyclable bags and stuff at the grocery. But becoming aware and accepting reality is a nice first step anyone can take without actually doing anything
-
Katrina has to be a monthly event for you to believe? I'm done. Meanwhile- you should go research the trends in hurricanes the last 50 years and you'll see that the season has in fact gotten longer and more intense.

Jim Brown advocates tearing apart and rebuilding the NCAA
dc. replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
He's totally right that the only way to do it is to destroy the NCAA and start over. So much of the crap governing that system is decades out of date and downright corrupt. There is no fix. -
Quite his point, Crav.
-
Sure crav, it's all about me being young and too stuck up. And again you ignore the heart of the post. The entire point of this thread has been that "science" isn't about "view points"... It's about data
-
Because 9/10 for the last 100 years have been warmer. Its called a trend. Just like you didn't strip Ray Lewis' title of team captain after one injured season. Are you an apologist who ignores the bad to see what you want? No. You know that one season doesn't define. But all that's beyond the point anyway. It's not about political pundits.. That's the problem with US culture, we assign scientific fact to politics as if it can be debated like the death penalty. Ignore Al Gore... Go read some actual science and grow up.
-
Crab = the joys of auto-correct on a phone, just like Spen dealt with. If you understand climate vs. weather... then how can you not understand that this one winter does not define the trend/climate of the last 200 years? Anecdotes about socks have nothing to do with climate.

I don't doubt people were upset. Idiots are upset no matter what happens. At year's end, they'd be upset we didn't make a trade. Just read this board re: the Ravens obviously. But more broadly (beyond reactionary fans) it was seen in the moment as a great move. And I don't think I'm being reactionary in saying that this situation is different than the situation we were in 6-7 years ago when that trade went down!
-
Who is they that were screaming? Do people like to see a good guy? No. But I think most real fans realized that Bedard had no future here because there was no future to be had. If we hold Davis, win the World Series this year, and then he walks... do we still look stupid? Probably not quite as much. If we miss the playoffs, probably more so. I am not saying you never trade a guy. But in terms of the situation, I don't see trading away a "key component" (especially with no legitimate option to fill the void - defensively or in the line-up) in the middle of a strong window. If the window were closed... you trade him. If there were obvious ways to fill the void... you trade him. If you could guarantee a legitimate return... you trade him. But unless we're getting David Price, I don't see it as a worthy move.
-
But we traded Bedard when the team was failing and had no upside. We're now just reaping the rewards of that trade and so many others - including the Koji trade that netted us Davis. If this team was expecting 70 wins - trade him. If it's 90 with Davis and 70 without him, keep him.

Analogy: Albert Pujols is a career .321 hitter and averages 41 HR per year. In 2013, he hit .258 with only 17 HR. Does that make him not a career power hitter with amazing numbers bound for the hall of fame? Or does it mean he had a bad year but the trend is clearly that he is among the best in the game? I'm not surprised based on your sports posts that you say global warming can't exist because you got cold. But Albert got cold sometimes too. But he is still Albert. And the earth's climate is still changing even after a bad winter.
-
You didn't see the O's having enough two years ago our last year either. We are close this year, it's hard to ever be sure how close. But we have s team with most players between 27 and 32... Prime years. If you wait, you waste those years. And as much as we love prospects, they can fail just like our famed cavalry of pitchers from five years ago. I'll take a handful of known commodities that play all star quality ball over twice add many prospects.
-
You also realize the "change" is relative to the last 30 years. The map is not trying to prove global warming. It is trying to show that cold weather in the eastern US does not mean that everything is OK world wide. In other words, no one cares about anecdotal stories about your sock purchases as they are not relevant to broader trends. It is global warming. Not Florida warming. You still haven't responded to the dessert comment Crab. Do you understand the difference between climate and weather? Your general attitude says you don't - and plenty of people don't. But it also means that until you do you should not be so proud of opinions based on science you don't understand. Lastly, what I have never understood is even if you don't believe that the earth is warming ... What is the harm in reducing human emissions? There are obvious consequences of not reducing emissions if warming is correct. There are not obvious reasons we shouldn't reduce our emissions. What harm, aside from you caring about how your house looks, doors solar power do for you? (Hint: a benefit is not having to pay an electric bill... And I know how much you hate bills)
