  1. Preliminarily, this doesn't sound promising for Smith or the team.
  2. Sounds like our QB eh ?
  3. Max, I agree about the damage part - especially given all the arrests this off season.
  4. Which means we should savor the moment !
  5. Training camp is starting 2 weeks too late for Smith.
  6. You gotta be friggin kiddin me ! The beat goes on
  7. I'm in general agreement with Rasta. Little substance added to the OL and running attack. Nice pickups with Smith and Daniel. I'm seeing 6-8 wins. 9 wins possible if all planets align and everyone stays healthy.
  8. Our enigmatic offense is back ! The hitting needs to wake up after being absolutely shut down the first two games. Hopefully, we will get over our hangover by tonight and prevent these no name pitchers from becoming the next Sandy Koufax . It's crucial this team goes into the All Star Break on a positive winning note.
  9. What the heck was that today Our boys looked hungover against another mediocre SP. Thank God the Rays are waxing the Jays. Let's hope our boys wake up from hangover tomorrow night .
  10. Yep. Good O-Line = similar record to 2008 - 2012; Bad O-line = another 2013 season. Here's hoping for Good to Outstanding O Line play in 2014 !!!!
  11. I agree to a point but believe the o line is the biggest factor. Joe needs protection and a run game. If he has both, he will be effective. If not or only 1, he will have limited success.
  12. I wouldn't shop Torrey for AJ; I'd prefer to have both (though we cannot afford).
  13. Crav, You are right. Their pitching is among the best in baseball. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Team Walgreen's wins tonight's rubber game. They have Gio Gonzalez on the hill tonight. He has been practically unhittable and will be just as tough on us as was Strasberg and Phishter. After that, its the stankies !
  14. But tonight we succumb to Team Walgreen
  15. An interesting albeit pennypinching strategy that we've all grown accustomed to yet also weary of during the PA regime.
  16. That's good but he's a greenie.
  17. Another vet arm in Aug/Sep could pay off. Well see . I am not holding my breath .
  18. True, but we likely wouldn't acquire if he was from the NL West.
  19. Now that the Hammel and Schamdizina................................... ship has sailed to Oakland, I don't know what top line SP is left. Price is too damn expensive for tightwad PA and our organization. Still, we would be wise to sign a craft vet for the stretch run.
  20. Over the next month, 10 series and roughly 30 games, the Os will face all winning teams - including home and away series with the very strong AL West - Oak, LA, and Seattle. Its a very, very challenging next month with series against Division rival NY and NL power St Louis thrown in the mix. We wont face a sub .500 team until facing Cleveland (not exactly a slouch either) in mid-August. Folks, we will learn a lot about this team and its post season aspirations in the next 30 games.
  21. Yeah, 14-2 is probably safe
  22. My advice to the young lad. Get the sacks. Afterwards, we'll chat about the dinero
  23. Crav, No 15-1 or 16-0. Whatup ?
  24. . Nice win in series opener in DC.
