  1. Crav, Lets first see how we do against the Jays. You know there are 50 games left.
  2. Go OJ go ! Whoops, that could be bad karma huh ?
  3. Max, it's great to win and we were extremely fortunate to have won 2 out of 3 against a very tough Seattle team. Our pitching saved us. At the same time, the hitting is practically non-existent and struggling mightily. Buck may need to shake things up soon or pick up a legit bat. These surplus of batters with Mendoza like numbers at the bottom of the order aren't going to cut it.
  4. Walkin a fine line today but a 1-0 win no less. Well take it and maintain our 2.5 game lead over Jays, possibly 3.5 game lead if Strohs hold lead. But man, has team stopped hitting or what ? It won't get any easier tomorrow night in DC, followed by Jays in Toronto, then home to Carfs. Buck or somebody has got to wake this offense up and quick !
  5. Here we go again with another 1 run offensive outburst against a very, very average pitcher tonight. These boys need a damn keg of Red Bull or something !!! Geez
  6. Beyond Davis, we have other hitters - Cruz, Flaherty, both Catchers, Schoop- that also lost. Ironically, the pitching has been awesome but the hitting is becoming a concern. Granted, we have gone up against good teams in the past 2 weeks. But we have seen a steady diet of 4 + ERA guys - case in point last night - only to come away with 1-2 runs in the first 5 innings. I don't know how much longer we can sustain these wins and keep Toronto in the rear view mirror, unless Duquette et al acquires a bat or two. We can keep putting up these Belanger type numbers in the bottom of the lineup and with Davis in the middle. Something's gotta give....soon.
  7. Wow ! Really ? The economy is in the tank, unemployment is off the charts and this Country's leadership is weighing in on Ray Rice. Why am I not surprised ! Maybe they will start drafting legislation on NFL free agency, salary cap rules, game rules/penalties.
  8. The Os need to bring their A game this weekend. Cant sleep on the M's !!!!
  9. Os had their shots in extra innings. Can't win em all; still took 2 out of 3 from Angels. Lead down to 1 1/2 over Jays with Seattle up next.
  10. Force, I didn't say "going for it" is the right move. I just don't think we will. Sometimes, "going for it" works; sometimes not. Only time will tell whether the A's strategy will work and if its the smart move. I do agree the team will stand pat and do with what we've got. .
  11. We will know in an hour whether the Os are "going for it" like the A's. If we snag Price (or another top line player), then we are serious about winning it all. If we do nothing (my bet), we are just interested a ticket to the dance.
  12. Agree with Crav on offers. Only Gonzo; throw in Flaherty or a "home run" Hunter
  13. Let's give the Blosox Flaherty for Lester
  14. Might it be Champ Bailey time?
  15. That's what I was referencing in my comments about Goodell not having anticipated the fallout you just described . It's a tar baby and it ain't going nowhere anytime soon .
  16. Man, the Ray Rice case has become a real "tar baby" across the news, media, talk shows, etc. The ramifications and implications are farther reaching than I think anyone, including Roger Goodell, might have anticipated. As an objective Raven fan, I am becoming increasingly concerned over the matter and the distraction leading into a new season. This is not good karma for a team that whiffed last year and is seeking player leadership, character and chemistry for this season.
  17. It was ugly but a W no less. To win ugly against some no name pitcher - 2nd day in a row- says something about the team. After the offense fell asleep in Seattle, it needs to wake at home against LA.
  18. Right on schedule through 4 innings . One measly run half way through against the next Tom Seaver. For a team that leads the ML in most offensive categories, we sure know how to play down to the competition.
  19. Yeah; except we seemed to have a penchant for making these .500 pitchers w 4.0 ERAs - like tomorrow's guy- look like Tom Seaver. Worst case ; we split the series and west coast trip and return to Camden Yards w/ a 2 game lead over Yanks or Jays. I'll take it !
  20. Os look like sleepwalking against mediocre pitcher today after beating it's two best starters. Hopefully just a oneday funk and we wake out of it tomorrow.
  21. Let's hope he isn't activated
  22. and head scratching .
  23. Yep. Awesome start in series, winning first two games started by their best SPs. Need to kick butt today and tomorrow and come home on a winning note for LA Angels.
  24. Adding another piece to the Shawshank collection.
