Ahh, Let's see we squeaked out a miraculous win at home versus Minnesota in the blizzard. And Justin Tuckers 60 + yd FG saved our arses in Motown. That 8-8 record is looking pretty dang good. No matter how you wax it , We were a mediocre lot last season. If we want mediocrity again in 2014 we stick to the same bunch. If we want to get better, we surround the team with better talent. We don't need to break the bank, we just need to make positive additions in a timely fashion. I am sure Oz will do but he needs to pick up the pace in my opinion.

Yep. We need upgrades in many areas, not the least of which is Center. In fact , we need many upgrades. Lets not forget we were 8-8 last season. Re-signing our own - Pitta, Monroe, Jones - while necessary and very important isn't enough. In addition to a fortified OL, we also now to strengthen our DL (loss of A Jones), LB corps, secondary (esp safety), WR and RB. Speaking of RB, I wonder if the FO is considering Blount from NE. He ran all over our arses last year and could be 1-2 yr stopgap while we transition away from Rice. He is still available. Whether its through the draft or FA, we have got many holes to fill from a 8-8 squad. .

So much for all the hype about the team JUMPING INTO THE FREE AGENCY ACTION. Since we passed on the top tier guys and we've only snagged one of our own in Monroe, I am trusting Ozzie and Co are planning on an alternate strategy. Based on what's left in FA (aside from Revis, Peppers), that strategy will require no less than a monster draft - Center, Safety, WR, RB, LB, etc........ Hope all the planets align and Ozzie has his mojo going on May 8th !

We are in a peachy cap situation, when/what's our next move ? Are you going to pull an O's Dan Duquette and move after the all the key FA are gone ?

You pretty well nailed it DC. The bullpen - at least closer - isn't nailed down either. On the positive side though lots of hitters indeed but not sure about the situational hitting. I can't tell you number of times last year this team failed to score with the bases loaded and 1 or no outs. It was a real head scratcher. If we straighten that out, get solid SP, sound middle relief and a closer we should be fine and compete in the AL East.
