  1. Yep but you must win.
  2. That's me fear, too. Harbs will pick a noodleback, a yes man who won't threaten his authority. By the time Bischotti figures it out, another year passes, and we've sunk further organizationally. Let's hope that Harbaugh puts his ego and authority aside, does what's best for the team, and selects a dynamic, strong willed OC who will lead, inspire and bring out the best of this underachieving unit.
  3. You still have to have a rudder. Without A really strong effective OC , our offense will just be dangling around like it did the last couple years.
  4. Wouldn't mind Decker, Macklin or Cooper ) Need to keep Jacoby.
  5. All good points Max. Unless we want to witness an offensive meltdown similar to the Boller experiment last decade, this organization must select an OC who can resurrect this offense, surround Joe with solid weapons, and create an efficient, effective, and consistent performing group that moves the chains. Oh, and it absolutely has to convert a 3rd or 4th and 1 running play- something that's been missing for a few years.
  6. Points well taken. My comments are really directed towards Ozzie and the team moving forward . He and the FO have done extremely well in the past. It's time to get back on track, right the ship and start building a consistent playoff team for the future. This offseason is critical for doing that.
  7. I am over it but was never convinced they couldn't have figured out some way, some how to keep Boldin while locking up Flacco. Unrealistic ? Maybe, but I am still not convinced (not the Ozzie or anyone else on this board gives $.02 what I think). I was fine with several moves (or non-moves) - Pollard, Ellerbe, Williams, Kruger - just not letting ALL of leadership walk, retire or leave. And left with zero leadership. Well, now that the ship has sailed, Ozzie et al need to quickly rediscover their collective mojo in FA acq's and the draft. If not, we are going to start trending south in our Division. As it is, we are on the bubble and in danger of joining the marginalized and irrelevants of the NFL.
  8. I agree with Oldno82. At the same time, I understand the reluctance for selecting a WR/TE given the FOs proclivity for selecting 1st round WR busts. Meanwhile, we have one of the worst OLs in the NFL; thus, we need to address and fortify immediately in this years draft. Assuming we don't make a big FA splash and focus on just signing our own (good assumption), my preference is to first address the OL - if one of the top OL guys is there at 16 or 17 (whenever we pick). However, if one of the top WRs (Evans/ Benjamin/Watkins) is there and we have done ALL of our diligence on each guy, then perhaps we go there. This organization needs to recapture its draft success of years past. Its been a disappointment since the Flacco/Rice draft of 4-5 yrs ago. The team has since weathered several unimpressive drafts and the FO has run out of mulligans. Its time for Ozzie et al to start and continue hitting home runs.
  9. Let him walk only if the FO is finally 100 % sure that it can draft a TE or WR after numerous failed attempts (save Torrey and Pitta). Otherwise, you at least retain your known quantities. We need to add value and enhance our receiving corps. Btw- I am tired of watching these playoff teams with a cadre of TE and WRs.
  10. Good deal. Maybe this little bit of good news, albeit no news, is a sign of better news for this offseason ( when compared to last season).
  11. That's good. Of all the moves that are being contemplated, losing DeCosta wasn't one I wanted to hear or discuss.
  12. That sounds like a scary proposition.
  13. Exactly. If and when a new OC comes in and he and Castillo don't mesh, that's a recipe for disaster. It'll make it that much harder and longer to right the ship. The Biscuit and Ozzie need to fix this mess before we turn into another Redskins or Browns.
  14. Wow ! 2014 is going to be a loooooong season. Can we just skip over 2014 and jump right to 2015.
  15. Yep. And if he's around pick up No 44 from Boston College . The dude's a beast. I haven't seen as physical and punishing of a runner since JLew.
  16. We need the Skins to take Caldwell so we can obtain an effective OC. Imagine the mess if Caldwell were to stick around in 2014
  17. Crav, Let's be real when putting Joe in the same category as Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers willed the Pack to victory at M & T back in October, and practically did the same today against arguably the NFLs best D. The Packers D lost that game today. Rodgers was a warrior today. I ll grant you those others guys, but not Rodgers. He and Joe aren't even on the same planet, at least not now. A couple years - and supporting cast and OL - from now we will see.
  18. Max, in my humble opinion I see 1 possibly 2 years of regression. So much depends on the draft - this yr and next- and our cap mgmt. Unless we catch lightning in a bottle re our OL and running game, which de facto means having a solid OC, then another 8-8 or possibly 9-7, is not out of the question. Otherwise, I could envision a 6-8 win season in 2014, followed by a stronger 2015 campaign. Again, so much depends on the draft - which has been a disappoint of late- and effective FA moves.
  19. Slim and none and slim left town. Max you make some really good points. And unfortunately it's the NFL world in which we live and will only get worse. We better enjoy it while we can.
  20. Next thing, we will see Ryan Fitzpatrick, EJ Manuel, and Kellen Clemons seeking monster contracts for sub .500 teams. Nuts !
  21. What's next; Andy Dalton wanting eight years, $160 million? Geez.
  22. Btw- now that Cutler got his big deal, is Joe getting a "little cut from Cutler" ?
  23. Now that he's done, McKown probably walks. Its a pipe dream, but Id love to see us grab him as a Flacco backup. The prospects of going into yet another year with Tyrod as the only backup gives me the shakes.
  24. Max, Couldn't agree more. There is no leader .......yet. It's time for Ozzie to work his magic.
