Wilson was a nobody until we got him and now he was off the market before aso or joseph. Please don't imply that I think he's the same caliber of cb, just making apoint that we get players to play up to talents and not down.
-
Very good news that the jets didn't get him! Whoohooo. We also need haynesworth and johson to destroy that pats lockerroom! Lol
-
ahhhhhh lol lol lol lol, my bad
-
I wish him well, not sure why the Colts would want a RB that can't catch however. They've always wanted versatile backs.

This is depressing news, it's on NFL.com

Osi did not show up for Giants physical
yagersports replied to yagersports's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Kruger is probably not really gonna blossom into much, if he does awesome, but I don't see it. Kindle still has to prove that he can even take contact, much less play at a high level. Also, kindle would play lb opposite Sugss, Osi is a DE. -
Sure would be nice to pair him with Suggs! Can you imagine the havoc those two would cause!!!! I know I've been an advocate of obtaining Aso....but if Osi is an option, that would also change things quite a bit. Suddenly a super shut down corner isn't as big a need as it once was.

Wasn't that the point of our cuts to get cap room????

12 tds, 5 yd per carry average. Tons of RBs that pull that off. In 2009, Willis did a ton of dirty work, running between the tackles alot. It is what it is, you conveniently leave out that he did well in yr 1. After that, Rice took over, he was just better. What are you gonna do. He would have rushed for 1000 yds in 08 and 09 with the carries of the average starting rb. This last year, he was showing some wear and tear, I'll give ya he looked a bit slow. That's probably a secondary reason for his release. On another team, he could still probably break the 1000 yd mark. Like I said, it is what it is. If we didn't obtain a better back via the draft Willis would have rushed for 1000 yds 3 of 4 yrs. That sounds like a solid pick up to me. Again, not superb or out of this world, just solid.

Here's another thing....why are we linked to none of the FAs on the market????
-
If there were, plenty of guys would rush for 1200-1300 yards, and plenty of guys would rush for 7-11 tds. He did a good job. Not superb, not great, not amazing, but good. His contract paid him as if he should have been great, but he was good none the less. Had Ray Rice been injured, we would have been very very happy to have him. It is what it is. Was he overpaid....yes....did he play poorly.....no.

God no to cromartie, he takes chances like McAlister, but doesn't get the results CMac used to get. I wouldn't mind Joseph, he would suit the Ravens just perfectly.
-
NFL.com has Aso going to the Jets, and they're pretty confident it's going to happen. I would have loved having Wilson playing the nickel, but Carr has done a good job, hopefully we can bring him back.

I would like to see Heap return, not sure anyone would not like Heap back. Mason has been awesome, but his separation each year gets less and less. It reminds me a bit of Shannon Sharpe. Still making catches, but tackled as soon as the catch is made. I wouldn't mind seeing Mason as a 3rd receiver, however I think Joe would "lean" on him too much where he needs to lean on Boldin. We need to let Boldin make plays on the out patterns etc. Boldin can break tackles and get those precious YACs.
-
He wasn't a back up his first year and then ray rice just fell into our laps. Sorry, but Oz did ok on this one. Ray just became the man, that happens in football.
-
Joe is a good QB, he will be fine. It's not like he's being left with nothing. Boldin and Rice are solid. It'll be good to get some young hungry guys in here to compliment them.
-
Willis was the best move Oz had with what he had to work with. Was there really a 3rd or 7th round pick out there that would have filled the shoes as Willis did?
-
Honestly, I really think this guy is the key for us. Second...if Houston gets him, it could be the key for them as well. They have a pass rush with Mario, adding some elite coverage would go a long way in shoring that team up and making them very very dangerous.
-
He'll definitely go after Mason and Heap, letting one of his WRs go. Probably Edwards. Mason and Holmes would be a good duo. He definitely also go after Gregg considering Jenkins will not be back.
-
I believe that argument goes both ways Crav depending on the skill level of the players. Revis can cover forever, and so can osamunga. These types of CB's allow the line more time to get pressure on the QB. Deion also did this. The other thing these type of DB's do id force the QB to rule out a receiver. This allows the defense to key on certain plays and sides of the field etc. I'm not disagreeing here, because I've seen what great DE's and pressure schemes can do for CBs as well. See Ike Taylor. This guy will be awful for another team. I think that DeAngelo Hall guy was covered up as well because he's just been awful since he left his original team.
-
I honestly believe that the CB from Oakland will make this defense elite. If we're gonna cut guys like Heap and Mason, we should go after this guy. If our rookie is as good as everyone thinks, our three corners would be amazing.
-
Mason can be replaced because we have Boldin, that's our veteran presence at WR. I'd rather have some young pups competing and hungry. (Honestly, Mason does compete like a young pup, he just can't separate like them). I'll miss Mason, but I like the move. Mason gave us great years. Heap however always shows up when a first down is needed. I just don't get this move. I thought Heap was still playing at a very high level. This happens with a lot of Tight Ends, if it happened to Tony Gonzalez it can happen to Heap.

Ravens to Release Willis McGahee, Gregg, Heap, Mason
yagersports replied to a topic in Baltimore Ravens
Heap needs to be brought back, he makes plays and he blocks very well. However, another team will probably offer Heap some good money that we won't. I'm very saddened by this move. Mason is sad, but honestly, Boldin should be getting Mason's touches. If Mason was willing to take a reduced role and relish the role...I would consider bringing Mason back. Otherwise I like the cuts. Gregg will be missed. -
I don't blame Ed at all. ESPN will continue to do as it does, because there will always be an influx of younger players that want to do interviews until they get burned too. Too bad really. Is integrity really leaving this world, or is it that as I get older I just notice more and more. Hmmmmmm.
