Its disgusting. I still look at the roster and see what I think is improvement, its just not living up to it. Same old same old. I am tired of it all. Tired of the ineptness. Tired of the payroll structure in the league.

I really only read about the case yesterday after the verdict and from everything I read I do not think they proved that she killed her daughter. They proved she lied, they proved she acted irrationally, but not that she killed her IMO so I understand the verdict. People are murdered and go missing all the time and because the victim was a little blondish girl with a relatively attractive mother charged then all the sudden its the trial of the century. Wait, what? A politician doing something to sway public favor? Well I never! Well at least you got to save a couple bucks for a couple weeks.

I think they are going to get no hit tonight.

I am glad I missed last nights game, though I have seen other instances recently like the 5th inning. Very frustrating.

Wow, contention August I think would be a dream but what a good one it would be. I'll be happy within 4 games of 500 or so. I understand what you mean Vmax, I wish there was more of strong core of players but I am not sure I feel Andy has had enough time to do that. The lack of a legit first baseman has been annoying for the last 20 years with the exception of when Raphael was here. Who knows, maybe if they get close to 500 they can interest some better free agents in coming here.

I think he is doing OK. Vlad has been a good signing. Hardy seems to be a good signing. Reynolds is annoying with his average but with his RBIs it could be argued that he is has been a decent signing. Markakis is a good player who is not having a great year. Perhaps most important of all is Roberts, he may be the Orioles best player and he has been out a month. I am not sure how many were drafted under Andy but I have been reasonably impressed with the starting pitching. If they can learn how to pitch when the team is rebounding like this year they may be very dangerous when the team is even better (if all goes well theoretically) in a year or two. Open the checkbook for Adam Jones, hes a keeper. Its hard to go from losing almost 100 games to being good right away. I think the goal of this year was to turn things around, stop the mentality of losing, and be better than last year with hopefully getting close or at 500. If they can do that and look promising for next season they can probably interest a higher caliber of free agents. Right now its frustrating because they win 4 or 5 then lose 4 or 5, but I do think they are markedly better than last year, and thats all I really wanted to see. If my numbers are correct they were 18-46!! this time last year. Wow thats awful.

Markakis with the grand slam! It was out of there in a hurry too.

Happy belated birthday, I hope it was great!

Theres the sweep and a 5 game win streak. It was ugly at times today though. Bases loaded with no outs and we do not score. Ouch. Has Luke Scott ever seen a pitch he didnt like? Today in his last at bat he should have been more selective and in the extra inning loss to the Yankees he swung at a terrible pitch in the dirt to strike out. He is a talented player who has been productive for us so I do not want to bitch about him too much but he can be frustrating.

Wow, beautiful pictures. I want to go to there.

Nice win. It may have been more than a bit lucky too but the pitching was solid and kept us in the game. We didnt win the game against the Yankees, but we made a couple of pretty good closers blow saves the last week.

Ooooh yeeahh!

We need a white flag to wave.

Lol, I was out tonight and saw 30 seconds. When I turned it on it was 11-0.
-
Man that was a rough one last night, I watched about 6 innings then needed to do some stuff and turned it back and the very first pitch I saw was Cano's double. For a long time it looked like neither team wanted to win.

It depends how it got rolling again. If they lose some games or even a season then came back to run the league in a similar way I would be back right away. I can deal with that even if I do not like it. If the league is capless and teams sign their own TV deals then it will become a league of haves and have nots; that might finish me off for good. Its the competitive balance and structure of the league the way it is now that appealed to me when I became a fan 25 years ago, if that goes I would be far less interested.
-
Those are some really scary scenarios. If some of the things happen that Collinsworth worries about (draft, no cap, team TV deals) then I will be done with the league forever.

lol, Armando hasnt been an Oriole in almost 15 years. Maybe Chris Ray? Just guessing, I do not remember that particular game. I do not think any of the tough/bad losses the Orioles have had have anything to do with preseason comments Buck or anyone else made. The Red Sox have a good lineup and if you do not capitalize like the Orioles failed to last night, and if you give them extra outs like the Orioles did last night; chances are its going to hurt you. Not a fan of Buck?

You did! I liked the way things were going when it was 6-2 so I planned to listen to the game when I walked my dog. The problem is since its on AM I have to use an ancient little AM radio I have that doesnt do anything else. So when it started to go south and I really wanted to listen to something else I was stuck about a mile away from my house so my choices were to keep listening or walk in silence. I should have walked in silence.

Dont forget a pinch of some timely errors. Oh well, its sucks and its a terrible loss. Still doesn't erase the last week they had which was pretty good. At least not for me.
-
They had a very nice weekend, the starting pitching had a very good week.
-
Was not pretty but it was a pretty nice win.

Is he trying to make people laugh or make them happier?

Dont forget sending the runner home in the 9th when he no chance of making it. But hey, they won and stopped their losing streak. I'll take it. And really while they have been tremendously frustrating at times, I do think they are much better than last year. So far at least. I think they were 10-24 this time last year.
