I still think its the QB position.
-
Thats how I feel too. They needed a new voice in the locker room as good a Rex may turn out to be, I am uncertain he would have been right for this team at that time. No. Different owners, players, cities, era......

At times it seems like they should.

Most of the time when I hear people complain about the announcers I tend to agree with you, that they are pointing out faults with the team that fans probably dont want to hear. However this time, and the Vikings game, I felt Dierdorf clearly favored the other teams in particular the QB. "What a joy it is to watch Favre do what he loves" *barf* If he loved it so much why retire every year. This game the Ravens made plenty of mistakes but Dierdorf who at times talks about the good old days of the NFL ignored the questionable penalty on Ray Lewis and instead decided to state how big of a mistake it was. Then he ignored Manning's flops which a QB would have been lambasted doing when Dierdorf played. Plus he also completely ignored what should have been an obvious pass interference call on a pass to Ray Rice. I actually like Dierdorf, I think he is smart and informative but it seems to me at time he lusts after the perceived marquee teams and players.

Since all the games are national, if a broadcast team is favoring one team over another than they are not doing their job well.

I saw that too, I'd love to have heard it all.

In the first half for the most part the pass coverage seemed to be good, Manning just made some great throws. The WRs on this team suck, plain and simple. I assume Washington and Tyree must be awful in practice, otherwise I have no idea why they dont see any playing time. The couldn't be any worse than Clayton and Williams. Joe needs to rest and get healthy. Despite his improved stats I think this was a bit of a sophomore slump season for him. A few legit weapons would help immensely. If Dierdorf called a game between the Vikings and Colts, who would he verbally fellate more? Favre or Manning? The refs need to call illegal contact and pass interference consistently. The position of the player, whether a WR, a tight end, or running back should affect the call. That was an obvious interference call on Ray Rice and it was just ignored. Heap can get mugged at times to with no call. If the Ray Lewis hit in the end zone was an illegal hit then they should change the rules to touch football rules. He didnt lead with his head. I thought the idea was to hit the receiver hard enough to knock the ball away before its a catch, I guess defenders should stand back and watch to see whether the pass is caught or not.Its a tough game and I dont want to see anyone get hurt, but the players are well paid and well protected and there will always be injuries. The 'defenseless receiver' call is arbitrary and seemingly randomly called. Its a joke. Payton flopping like a submissive dog, and losing yardage both times, really inspires comparisons of former great QBs in the league, doesnt it? Its inspiring to teammates as well.

The slides, while I guess smart, left a bad taste in my mouth. Its football, its a rough game. Watching someone flop twice in a playoff game doesnt exactly sell the image of a football player.

Oh I see what you mean, I didnt know he apologized to a everyone during his appearance.
-
Me too.

lol for what? Not thinking they were going to win? That's not really an insult.

Through a sea of alcohol, the original post still makes no sense.... Go Ravens!
-
I'll try re-reading this in a few bottles, I mean hours.
-
I dont know anything about him other than this article, which I dont think the term sour grapes fits.
-
There there Cravn, its OK. Its Ok. Let it all out. But honestly I am not reading anything from him that sounds at all like sour grapes. I am not even sure why he would have sour grapes toward Baltimore.
-
Looks to me like the writer is pointing out sour grapes in Baltimore. He isn't wrong. After he gets by that stuff early on, the article says good things about the Ravens. Or Balty.

If Joe doesnt have an injury that affected his play Sunday then he played a bad game. I think he is injured and I hope he is somewhat better this week because I think we'll need hm to be. DWill has to make that catch? Why? It was only a very important part of the game and the ball hit both of his hands.....How he is still on the team is a sign of how poor our receivers have been. I would love to see Joe with a number of legitimate targets to throw to. Analysts always praise Ben RothlINTSberger (and he is good) but he had a great situation to step into. Plaxico and Ward get open then fight for the ball. Even now Ben still has a good group of receivers. Who knows, maybe not having them at the beginning of his career will make Joe better later on, provided of course that the Ravens ever get more than one good receivers at the same time. I have my doubts.

You better not. Dont even think about posting that. I cannot see how anyone would think this is an easy game. Winnable? Sure. Easy? Not any way I can picture it.

I always want to make the playoffs, no matter by dominating or backing in. Once in, you never know. I expected a loss yesterday, I wouldnt have been amazed if we won but I didnt expect it. In a way the way we won when I didnt expect it made it a lot more pleasing to me.

Bad karma for Brady, he should have never laughed after getting the penalty called in the first meeting.
-
This team as it is now has some issues so why it would be assumed that we would address and correct those issues and not have any new ones through turnover, age or even performance is beyond me. I hope we are better next year, but at this point I dont think we can be sure at all. And we need to be better, a lot of seasons 9-7 wouldnt get us into the playoffs.

I wish I could resign something and get that pension.
