  1. If true, he should have taken it, if he really wants to stay here. I wonder if that offer is still on the table.
  2. That's for the Super Bowl. Crav is talking AFC champ.
  3. Hey thanks. Good stuff. Comp picks will help some to make up for the ones we traded.
  4. Any news on this?
  5. Good find, Cleetz. I have no idea what we should offer him either.
  6. I can't even find out that much. Did you have a site for those pick numbers? Who did we lose our 3rd rounder for?
  7. I hope you guys are right. The league seems to be really cracking down on bad behavior.
  8. I'm thinking 4 game suspension...
  9. I think Oz's picks were what they've always been---best player available.
  10. Same here. I don't see a RB drafter until round 3 or later.
  11. We do need a TE badly. And a CB. And a WR. And a SS.
  12. Will Hill should be here as an RFA. We need a real, #1, big WR because we can't rely on another great season from SR. Even if he does play as well, we still need a guy who instills fear in opposing defenses. Strong safety is a need. Matt Elam just hasn't cut it. We need a TE. Pitta's playing days are quite possibly over (hurts to say that) given the absence of optimism in Harb's recent comments and we don't know where Daniels will wind up. Finally we need CB depth. All in all, we need 4 major players.
  13. I agree too. The O works best off play-action and the running game. You can't have the first without the second and you can't be unpredictable if you throw all the time. So far, Trestman has said all the right things about zone blocking, running the ball, and leaving the current system in place. That's good and makes me optimistic. I too hope he gives the run game the number of plays it needs for the O to be balanced. I know nothing about his ability to change plans if his initial game plan isn't working. Flexibility was one of Kubiak's best qualities. Trestman needs to be the same. I think, from what I've read about him, that we'll see an increase in screens and passes to the RB so we'll need a 3 dimensional back who can run, catch and run, and block. We should be OK with Taliaferro or someone through the draft or FA. And Forsett might not get the big offers he's hoping for and might come back if Kubiak doesn't take him with him. Joe and Trestman will click. I just hope they don't try to turn this into a bombs away offense. Nado is right too that Harbs will probably influence Trestman about us having a strong running game.
  14. With our cap situation we'll most likely have to let JF go. We will find a replacement either in the draft, via free agency, or with Taliaferro. That's just the way the system of the NFL is set up. You don't pay running backs a lot because there are so many you can plug in and play.
  15. You can say that again!
  16. Really nice note. Look at those arms!
  17. Another good question.
  18. Glad to hear that. I was worried he'd turn into a passing maniac with Joe and neglect the play action that Joe is so good with. Also heard he runs the offense mostly from the shotgun and we've been down that road too without a lot of success. So am quite happy that he's going to run the 'Ravens' offense. Hope it works out that way. Edit: sounds like it just might work out: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-Offense-Not-Changing-Under-Marc-Trestman/19f242c0-5c46-4b0b-90b0-247f3a4b2fce
  19. Totally agree. RB's are plentiful via the draft. Maybe even through undrafted free agency too,
  20. One of the first things Trestman ought to do is start poring over the tapes of Joe from 2013 and 2014 and see what works best for him. Kubiak did a similar thing when he got hired. He ought to check out the zone blocking scheme we used to before he decides to just use what he's used to.
  21. Well, if Cleveland hires him it's a win-win for us. Sounds, then, like Oz and Harbs are on board with the Trestman hire. I read he hasn't used a zone-blocking scheme though. Our lineman did very well with that this year. Maybe he'll adapt?
  22. I'm not as optimistic about Cavanaugh. He was a terrible OC when he was here and most of us couldn't wait to get rid of him. Ravens' offenses sucked when he was here. But, maybe Trestman won't bring him. Oz might have a say in that too.
  23. Right now I'm really lukewarm about this selection. I don't really know much about the guy other than he's a west-coast offense coach, so that's a plus. He's supposed to be good for coaching qb's too. But he'd better not bring Cavanaugh here (I can't believe this is even a possibility especially with his history with Joe and his blunder of not playing him!). I am concerned about what he does with the zone-blocking scheme because that was so effective for us with a journeyman running back. Maybe we'll know more when he's officially introduced. I hope he and Flacco get along as well as Kubiak and Flacco did. That part has me worried.
  24. Hard to believe that MC is still around and working. Hoping we get a different guy for coaching qb's.
  25. Speaking of the cap, does the league give the 2015 limit before free agency starts?
