  1. Lets see what the Bengals do with Andy Dalton.
  2. I know what you mean. It's killing me that we probably have to draft a tackle or FS there. Killing me! I doubt if he'd take the pay cut we'd give him. He's too proud. But if he's willing, so am I for a one year stopgap.
  3. Terrance West is starting to look pretty damned good to me. He's talented and we can get him farther down the draft list.
  4. Trading down would be great but the news this year is that other teams aren't willing to trade up because the draft is supposed to be so deep. To me it's coming down to a choice between Martin and Dixon. Pryor belongs more in the second round. I really hate giving up on a WR or TE at 17, but the other needs might be greater.
  5. Frankly, I'm sick that we let Blount get away without even making an offer. I think Oz is a smart man. But I don't really know where their heads are about getting us a RB and a FS. They're very loyal to Ray Rice but they got to do what's best for the team here and get us 2 real RB's. If I were Ozzie, I'd consider trying to trade a draft choice for a FS at this point. RBs in the draft are a dime a dozen, but I'm not sold on rookie FS's playing with sophomore SS's.
  6. I miss the Baltimore Colts. I'd be lying if I said I didn't. The Ravens have been a good substitute though. The NFL of the 50s-70s was a much different beast than it is today. The older teams showed so much sportsmanship. Every time a guy does a dance in the endzone or flexes his biceps after a tackle, it makes me sick. Artie and Gino said the same thing. The old teams had tons of class. But, that is a long gone era now. Everything in is 'in your face' today. M&T is a decent stadium. A dome would have made more money for the city. But I can live with M&T and Camden Yards. Bottom line: we all better hope Bisciotti still owns the Ravens when the stadium lease is up. Or we might get our hearts broken again.
  7. Good points. If they had left the name, colors, and history here, I would not have felt so gut-shot.
  8. That has been NJ's policy in cases of this type so far.
  9. I was there when the Colts were hot here. Even before they got good in the late '50s they had a rabid following. It was a sickening feeling watching what Irsay was doing to the team in his last 6 years here and it became very painful when he left. I'll never forget the fact we didn't get an expansion team and Jacksonville did. Didn't make any sense then or now. I think though that there wasn't anything Rozelle, the state, or the city could have done to actually stop a move. Al Davis had brought a suit against the NFL when they wouldn't let him move and he won it. Now, no franchise really 'safe' anymore in the NFL.
  10. I found out NJ law doesn't jail first time offenders on this charge. I'd expect at least a 4 game suspension. Another worry is how this has probably messed up his own self- image and training.
  11. It's pretty hard to beat having 4 picks of the top 100 players. This is probably Ozzie's most important draft in a quite a while.
  12. He was always so cool. But as far as I know, every player back in the day was more humble than what you see now. Seems like it started with Namath.
  13. That would make me warm and fuzzy too. Damn! We need 2 picks at 17!
  14. That's my gut feeling: the tape on the elevator, which we've never seen, will be decisive. As for jail time, he would probably get some. As for the CAP hits, I'd like to see us get out of that but I don't see how at this point. What a freaking mess!!! And then there's this: "A press release from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says that Rice was indicted for “attempting to cause significant bodily injury, and/or purposely or knowing causing such injury, and/or recklessly causing such injury under extreme indifference to the value of human life.”
  15. It's been attributed to the coach at 'Bama that he's really worked to change himself. Taking a year off is a big step for him in emotional maturity. I'd say give him a shot in camp too but don't hesitate for one moment to cut him if he isn't working out for any reason.
  16. No, but I sure wouldn't be feeling comfy as a Bengals fan with Brown as the owner.
  17. That IS good news! Really like the 3rd rounder.
  18. i'm not worried. I know if Bisciotti gets another crappy season or two from Harbs he'll can him and eat the contract.
  19. I agree and I don't want to see them move him to RT. Surely we can find a RT somewhere?
  20. Yeah, we're just joking around, Steel.
  21. Close. Marty was gone by then. It was Bill Troup and Mike Kirkland. Two names I'd never heard of before or since.
