Modell family wants to press charges against grave urinator
oldno82 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
What source is there for this? -
I'm starting to think trade, maybe. Not for a star, we'd have to give up too much, but a guy who's at least competent.
-
That's the best possible outcome for the Ravens. Sounds logical, in fact it is logical. But they still have to execute it and it's new to them.
-
I agree and I hope he pans out.
-
I think Kubiak calling plays from the sideline is good. He'll have direct communication with Flacco after every series.

On Joe picking up and executing Kubiak's offense: "By Jon Meoli The Baltimore Sun 6:28 p.m. EDT, July 26, 2014 Offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak singled out quarterback Joe Flacco for his leadership in learning the Ravens' new offense Saturday, and said he's “very impressed” with the team's grasp of his schemes so far in training camp. “It's kind of the third time we're going through our system, teaching it, and I think they've adjusted very well, but the most important thing is [Flacco] has adjusted extremely well,” Kubiak said. “He's got to lead the pack. He's done that from day one. He's got total command of what's going on right now.” Kubiak said Flacco has excelled in the short passing game, which the coordinator attributed to his commitment to learning the footwork required of the different route progressions Flacco has to go through. “His ability to go through progressions, to me, is exceptional,” Kubiak said. “Obviously, we've got to cut the sacks down a great deal this year. It's a big point of emphasis. The best way to do that is with your quarterback getting rid of the ball.” Through three days of camp, Flacco has found plenty of open targets on short and intermediate routes. He also has shown he can handle the play-action and bootlegs expected of him in Kubiak's offense. Kubiak, who coached Houston from 2006 to 2013, said three former Texans — tight end Owen Daniels, wide receiver Jacoby Jones and running back Justin Forsett — have been like “coaches on the field” for the Ravens, helping teammates learn the system quickly. Kubiak also said running back Ray Rice and guard Marshall Yanda are “ahead of everyone else” in their knowledge of the scheme. “That's the way it should be,” he said. jmeoli@baltsun.com www.twitter.com/jonmeoli

Crav, it was a year later just before the '76 season. The Colts had done real well the year before but Thomas and Marchibroda were in a power struggle. Marchibroda resigned, the players refused to play and the fans couldn't believe they lost the coach who had led them out of the wilderness. Finally, with time running out before the season started, Irsay re-hired Marchibroda and apparently gave him more power over the team. Thomas left after the '76 season was over. -
4 games seems to be more appropriate. He got off too easy. I sure wish we could see the elevator tape to know for sure.

I've been thinking that Lorenzo Taliaferro will have a great camp and plays in the first game. Don't know why, just a feeling. He was supposed to be a standout at the mini camps.
-
Yes they do! Even the great ones of the past have had clunkers. I've seen Unitas look absolutely awful in a loss to the Rams in '67 that took us out of the playoffs. But, that doesn't make me want to crucify the guy. He was the best and had other clunkers besides that one.
-
The defense isn't as active pre-snap like it used to be. They just haven't been taking it to the opposing offense. We need to return to creating chaos.
-
I agree, Max. I think this season will be won or lost in how much is accomplished in this training camp. Lots of unknowns: RT, RB, O-line zone play, Joe and the new offense, and FS. Not sure if I'm sold on Zuttah either but he's definitely worth a serious look. I wonder if the Ravens are going to be victims of trying to make too much change too quickly. Time will tell. Sure would make a statement if they start the season with a Win. If that happens, they'll make the playoffs. Real big game.

I tell you, it's been one lloooonnnggg offseason.

Yup I'm counting down the days to camp. A week from today it starts.

Good rundown on the Kubiak offense: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/How-New-Offense-Affects-Each-Position/b6ff0956-1b58-492b-9c66-607afbbf76ba

Only 7 more days to full camp. Should be quite interesting to see what is happening with the O-line, Kubiak's O, and all the rest of it.

Lacking a super-star back, there ain't nothing wrong with that. -
I didn't know it was even possible.
