  1. I read on the Internet today that we only have 4 draft choices. Is that correct?
  2. The big thing I noticed about the Seahawks was their team speed, an area we need to do a lot in to improve.
  3. Joe is indeed entitled to a rest this time of year. I was merely stating that we don't know how Joe is going to react to having a guy who may be more challenging to him being OC. He might respond very well. Too much is being made out of this at this point.
  4. Eisenberg weighs in on this here: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-Difference-Between-Ravens-And-Dysfunctional-Teams/930dde46-9443-4098-a77f-300f2ff33d2b He also says something I too have been wondering about. Is Joe going to buy in to Kub's way of doing things and challenging him? Joe's been noticeably quiet on this whole thing so far.
  5. No one can really say what happened in this decision making process unless they were in on it and none of us, including Preston, were. All we can say is we have a 'feeling' one way or the other. My 'feeling' is that Harbs was 'guided' into making this choice. But I have no proof so anyone else's 'feeling' could be just as valid.
  6. Well, hopefully, our lineman have the footwork and mental/physical agility to make it work. Might take them some time to get good at it.
  7. OK...so what is zone blocking?
  8. Interesting stat from the Ravens' website: "Play-action passing suits Flacco well, as he showed last year, because he’s athletic and mobile enough to get outside the pocket and either run or throw. Flacco had a 90.7 quarterback rating when using play-action passing last year, compared to 70.3 with no play action."
  9. I thought this was a good article on it. I admit to being pretty ignorant about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zone_blocking
  10. I Good analysis. I do see Crav's point but I think Kubs' record before this last season is more important than what just happened. Plus he's coming in as OC where he has always done well. IF the Ravens' offense can be improved, these guys can do it. We'll still need a much better than average draft. I hope Oz and Eric come through this year.
  11. I think this is a good move by the Ravens. And, I do have a feeling that Bisciotti was involved along with Newsome. Harbs was probably going through the motions just so he could get to his guy Hostetler and the FO stepped in. Good for them! I like the idea of Kubiak coming in...I just hope he can stay healthy. Didn't he have a medical problem this past season?
  12. Who gives a rat's ass about the Steelers???
  13. Now that you mention it I do remember that. But, it's a darned shame we had to account for that. Ngata is making quarterback money.
  14. He plays well when he's interested but he's not interested often enough. His cap number ($16 million) is way out of whack. Hard to believe they even considered that contract back when he was hungrier as it's for only a DT.
  15. Suggs used to but I think he's on the downside of his career. Ngata is just not consistent enough.
  16. The more I think about this, the more I think: 1) It should be Shanahan. 2) It will be Hostetler, who's at the bottom of my list.
  17. Monroe and Pitta are necessary. Daryl Smith if price is right for a one-year deal.
  18. Yup! That's the good news! What a hapless outfit they are.
  19. I agree. The O-line needs help. Maybe Osemele will play back to last year's standards---that would be a real help. But we still need a RT and C and if we don't sign Monroe, a LT. Add to this a WR, TE, and RB over the next two years at least. And, in 3 years we'll probably need a new QB. It's gonna be tough. We really have to draft very, very well like we did when the Ravens were just getting going here.
  20. I think one thing we can safely say is that Bisciotti has always paid top dollar when it's deserved.
  21. I hope so Max. I have this sinking feeling they're going to go with the worst possible candidate---Hosteler.
  22. The Ravens will be rebuilding for the next 2 years at least. And that's if they draft well.
  23. How true. In fact, I even wonder if Monroe is all that good. Solid? yes, Excellent? dunno. Worth keeping though for the right price.
  24. It used to be to provide objective in-depth analysis. Schmuck does a good job of that for the Orioles.
