  1. I think the question is: can we afford him? He's been a valuable weapon and contributor last post-season and this season. He looks confident and executes well. I'd love to have him and Torrey around forever.
  2. We need to adopt the "play one game at a time" routine.
  3. I liked Stokeley since the season we drafted him. He was a good receiver. When he was healthy. And, if I remember correctly, that wasn't often.
  4. Except for Torrey the Ravens have never drafted a quality WR---in 16 years!
  5. Absolutely agree though I would like to see us draft a capable WR. I hope Pitta makes a full comeback too.
  6. I don't think Gino is an NFL caliber Center. Check this out about our offensive line: Pro Football Focus Grades It comes as little surprise that the Ravens defense had 16 of 19 players earn positive grades from Pro Football Focus (PFF) after the unit suffocated the Jets. Cornerback Corey Graham led the team with highest grade ( 4.3) after his two-interception performance, both coming in Baltimore territory. Outside linebackers Elvis Dumervil (leads NFL outside linebackers in pass-rush productivity), Terrell Suggs and defensive tackles Art Jones and Terrence Cody all finished with grades of 2.0 or higher. Receiver Jacoby Jones graded very well on offense ( 2.8) and special teams ( 1.8), and got the PFF game ball after his 66-yard touchdown catch and consistently putting the team in good field position. But it was left tackle Eugene Monroe ( 3.8) that led the offense in ratings. The rest of the offensive line didn’t fare as well, with all four starters scoring negative points. “[Center Gino] Gradkowski (-5.4 overall) was the worst of the bunch, little more than a speed bump to the Jets at times,” wrote Thomas Maney. “Likewise [right tackle Michael] Oher struggled to handle the quickness of Richardson and the New York linebackers. It also didn’t help that Marshal Yanda couldn’t follow up his 6.2 showing a week ago with a similar performance.” OFFENSE DEFENSE Name Snap Count Rating Name Snap Count Rating Eugene Monroe 66 3.8 Corey Graham 36 4.3 Jacoby Jones 39 2.8 Elvis Dumervil 41 3.9 Joe Flacco 66 1.8 Arthur Jones 33 2.6 Tyrod Taylor 12 0.9 Terrell Suggs 45 2.5 Ricky Wagner 6 0.5 Terrence Cody 21 2.0 Dallas Clark 9 0.4 Lardarius Webb 55 1.7 Brandon Stokley 9 0.2 Haloti Ngata 27 1.2 Ed Dickson 57 -0.4 Daryl Smith 57 1.2 Torrey Smith 66 -0.5 Jimmy Smith 57 0.5 Vonta Leach 12 -0.5 Arthur Brown 20 0.5 Marlon Brown 45 -0.9 Albert McClellan 2 0.5 Bernard Pierce 31 -1 Courtney Upshaw 20 0.4 Tandon Doss 8 -1.2 Matt Elam 57 0.4 Marshal Yanda 66 -1.3 Pernell McPhee 24 0.4 Ray Rice 36 -1.9 Jameel McClain 23 0.3 Michael Oher 66 -2.2 James Ihedigbo 57 0.3 A.Q. 7. I liked this so much I had to post it again. Good one Dee.
  8. Won't be fixed this year. Unlikely to be fixed next year as Ozzie has so many needs: WR,C,RB,TE(?), LT(?), RT. The best thing going for us is the weak division.
  9. I keep wondering how we got into this offensive line mess. We re-signed McKinnie, the same guy that was nearly perfect throughout the playoffs. We lost Birk but Gino was supposed to be a good center after all the understudying. We had Osemele at LG, Yanda at RG, and Ohrer at RT. Looked damned good to me---on paper. Then McKinnie decided to stop playing. Osemele hurt his back and wasn't the same. Gino crashed. Ohrer looks like he was never what we thought he could be. And Yanda was still recovering from an injury. The line is a mess. The lack of running game and number of hits Joe's taking is killing us. BUT, how do we fix this mess? Seems like a whole lot of problems. Oh, and Monroe is in his last year and wants a big payday. And how long are we going to have to live with this?
  10. You can't knock Joe's performance this past Sunday. He was efficient and effective on long and short passes. There were also a couple of drops. His problem is consistency and that gets magnified when there's no running attack and the O-line is letting them swarm in. To sum up: 1) Joe isn't Tom Brady 2) He was lights out in the playoffs last year and the SB and brought us a championship. 3) Other times he can be found wanting 4) We had no choice but to pay him the money he got because somebody else would have and we would have to start a multi-year search for somebody as good 5) Ray's defense didn't bail him out in the playoffs and SB, Do I wish he was a young Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? Sure. But he is what he is and we can win with him with a balanced attack and a decent O-line. He proved it last year.
  11. Jacoby Jones is one hell of a returner and he's a valuable pass receiver too. Tucker may just be this team's MVP this year. Joe had a good day and the weather was bad...no complaints. The running game with Rice is dead. With Pierce it's almost dead. And there are no frigging holes either. Defense is playing great lately but Geno doesn't look like he's NFL material. I wonder if it was Ryan's decision to draft him or the Jets horrid F.O.
  12. Nice win...one of the best performances of the season!
  13. Except for the usual problems with the running game, it's been a good day for Joe, Jacoby, and all of our receivers---a few drops but mostly good. Defense is consistently good. Joe has looked sharp.
  14. Damned shame Stokely can't stay healthy. Very nice catch for a 1st.
  15. Actually, I like Fall the best, then Winter. Love all the holidays too.
  16. Given the weather, the defenses, and the lack of offense, I'd say Jets 12 Ravens 9.
  17. He was a good coach for us sure, but his record and his antics in NY speak for themselves.

    Yay!

" Dierdorff has called many a Ravens games … @JasonLaCanfora: Congrats and best wishes to Dan Dierdorff, who announced after 43yrs in the game as a player and broadcaster he will retire after the season [Twitter]" I don't think a Baltimore football team has ever had a worse 'analyst' doing their broadcasts. 43 Years of bullshit finally going away.
  19. I approve of him throwing to a receiver when there's tight one on one coverage, but there's been too many times when he's thrown in double and triple coverage this year. I think he's trying too hard to make something happen because the offense sucks so bad.
  20. Got a feeling Pitta won't play this year and will sign a 1-year with incentives. UNLESS we win the next 3.
  21. That's what I was leaning towards too.
