  1. Anthony Allen might be the answer here. As for Center, I'd at least see what Kreutz would settle for. But somehow, I"ve to a feeling one of the rookies in camp will pan out.
  2. Boy, thats a pretty depressing list. If I had to pick I'd say Delhomme or Sorgi.
  3. Well, guys, like I said its early to forecast but with what they have on hand now, 8-8 doesn't seem to bad. If Oz can get us a good offensive tackle to either start or back up a developing Jah Reid and if they can get a center to do the same for Birk, and add a pass rusher, they'll do considerably better. Besides, if I say 8-8 now and they go 11-5 or 12-4 look how happy I'll be!
  4. Yes. Its sad, I know...
  5. I think our depth is pretty bad at OL and RB. Not really anybody's fault---the low cap space really hurt (though I wish they'd get off the dime and give Haloti a cap-friendly contract). Kindle may be the answer for the pass rush but... I'm going to say we finish 8-8 but its too early to make a firm prediction.
  6. ...and Center, and OL backups.
  7. Thats what I heard.
  8. OK, but it is camp not the regular season yet. I don't know why he would keep injury news away from the media now.
  9. Yeah, I think we had to take these steps to get younger. I don't know if we're a better team than last year's or if we'll go deep in the playoffs, but it is nice to see the younger, faster guys getting a shot and taking over. I have a lot of concern about our offensive line depth, some concern about depth at RB too. But so far as the overall direction of the team is concerned I'm happy.
  10. I don't get this. Harbaugh has told the media he won't discuss injuries. In camp? I don't see why he would take that stance. How's the media, and us, supposed to know whats going on with players not practicing?
  11. I like what Allen has done in the early days of camp. If he can keep it up, he'd be good change of pace runner to spell Ray Rice. With our cap problem the way it is, I can't see them going out and getting another RB. Lets hope they stay healthy.
  12. Those guys sound pretty impressive. Maybe one of the three will stick.
  13. I'm relieved to hear about Jimmy---hope he gets back quick. I hope Foxworth is just going through the normal process of it taking a good while before its completely healed. Glad we got Carr back.
  14. I agree. Didn't we pick up a couple of Undrafted FAs who are Centers? I know thats not enough. We could use a veteran.
  15. If the media is right, I'm most impressed so far with the rookies (including Kindle in that category). Augers well for not only this season, but for the long-term future!
  16. Dickson will be fine in the receiving department. Wish he pass blocked better---maybe he'll learn. As for Ngata, agree we've got to move fast on this. We still need a backup qb, possibly an OT, and it would be nice to pick up a pass rusher.
  17. He's been a very good player and I will miss him. I think Dickson will pick up the pass completions but I am concerned about losing Heap's pass blocking. Overall, though, I understand and approve of the cut because our cap space is so damn tight.
  18. Leach Signed I was real happy to hear we signed this guy as I thought he'd be out of our price range. We just picked up the best blocking FB in the NFL and with us losing Heap this goes a long way to filling Heap's blocking role as well as a bulldozer to open up lanes for Ray Rice. A great pickup!
  19. Gosh, I wonder if thats the end of his career?
  20. See Here
  21. Crav, like I said, we don't have the cap money for a big splash like Aso. Sure I'd like to have him but it didn't happen and with us just a few million under the cap we didn't have a shot. Anyway, its a moot point now that he signed with the Iggles.
  22. As usual, a very good post Max. I am so 'up' for football especially after watching the Orioles tank yet again. Plus, I just like football better---its so much more entertaining than baseball. Even if we, heaven forbid, don't make the playoffs, I'll remain 100% invested in the Ravens football team. The early reports from camp are all positive but there's so much more to go. We need the cap space a contract with Ngata would give us. This is priority number 1 and I was disappointed to hear that the front office is waiting a few more days before starting the negotiations. Now is the time to do this. As for all the new rookies in camp, I'm excited but I temper that with the knowledge that we won't know the true value of these guys until they're in real action. Will Kindle be able to hold up? Can Cody take it to the next level? Can Hardy, T Smith, and Dickson be valuable targets for Joe? Can Dickson improve greatly his pass blocking? What about the guys we still need: FB, OT, C, all around depth? How do we match up against the Steelers at game 1? Who will get injured that we need somebody to step up for (its inevitable)? Tons of questions to be answered in the next four weeks. Exciting, yes, but a little worrisome too.
  23. Signing Ngata longterm frees up a bunch of cap space and I also agree that we have too many needs (the ones you mentioned above) to go after a guy like Aso.
  24. In today's Sun there is an article that says we're only $5 million under the cap.
  25. I hope he's right... http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2011/07/patience_is_key.html
