He's coming off an ACL tear but beggars can't be choosers.
I think you're right about Fuller. Sign him too.
As for my previous suggestion that they make a trade, I'll have to pull back. I don't know if anyone would be willing to trade us a good cornerback. They're too valuable.
I have no problem bringing Fuller back but I think they need to make a trade rather than continually relying on guys off the street.
Right now this is a BIG problem for the start of the season.
Our cornerbacks can never catch a break. Marlon Humphrey will be out for a month after having ankle surgery.
Year after year we never have enough depth in the secondary no matter how many we have and injuries decimate us.
WTF is going on?
SI's write-up sounds very promising notes for Monken's O and the defense as well.
It's just pre-season game one, but results were positive pretty much all around.
Can't wait until the real season starts with the regulars playing.
I agree. Keeping the established players on the bench for tonight is a good idea. We're so thin at CB it's scary. Gotta get them healthy for the 'real' season. I think next week we might want to see the starters play a series just so they can get some real play time under their belts.
Whaddya think...sit them all for the whole preseason or give them a taste next week?
Bateman back practicing today. I just hope his health holds up. If the 'three amigos' (OBJ, Flowers, Bateman) can all be injury free this year then it should be a dynamite offense.
Yep...seems like Todd's getting them up to speed and just maybe the offense was a little extra sharp because of the humiliation of the previous practice.
Heard that Bateman was running up and down the sidelines yesterday. It would be great if he was able to play when the regular season starts.
Well they are installing a new offense and Monken said it's way early yet so I would expect the offense to be lagging the defense right now. Lets see if things are any better in 2 more weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for now.
It's good that he's frustrated. He'll work harder to get it down. The two things that will make him a true star quarterback are the ability to hit on his deep throws and staying injury free. Funny, in his first full year he was good in getting the timing down on long throws but he's been wild the last two seasons.
Agree with both you guys.
An extension? It would have to be constructed in a way to protect the team. RBs are a pretty cheap commodity and he isn't going to be able to change that. I don't mind him staying here if the deal is really team, and cap, friendly. But he has pissed me off.
I think it's crazy what he's doing. What could possibly be his thinking in that by not playing he enhances his value? He has a lot to prove in that is he completely over his injury. Yes he played well toward the end of last season but he was definitely missing his top gear. Maybe he just doesn't want to risk getting injured in camp but that is really no excuse.
So far, so good with Flowers. If he stays healthy he could be a real shot in the arm for this offense. I think he's going to be a successful first round WR pick for the Ravens.
Meanwhile, has any one heard when Bateman might take the field?
Yup. Good article. The defense seems to be really showing its teeth. Offense sounds like it's having a bit of trouble adjusting to the new playbook and to the defense's new found prowess.
I'm starting to get jazzed waiting for the first preseason game so I can see how the young guys are doing.
