Good call. He already has 10. Very impressive.

Now we find out if this team is playoff material
Money replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Yep. The problem is he was an asshole and Modell was worried how a new fan base would take to him. He opted for the ultimate Mr. Niceguy in Marchibroda (who much of the fan base was also very familiar with). -
Ravens / Patriots flexed out of Sunday night game.

It's actually the league that decides this. From a ratings standpoint: Bal/NE and Chi/Phi >>> Pit/GB and Bal/NE -
Ravens / Patriots flexed out of Sunday night game.
Money replied to Money's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I actually think it has to do with the league and CBS. CBS has the national game of the week and Pit/GB was scheduled to be that game. They had to replace it. -
His 14th documented concussion. It makes me cringe to think about what his quality of life will be like when he's 50. I hope I'm wrong.

"if we lose it's on Joe, plain and simple. If we win Joe gets the credit plain and simple" -Gerastamo That's a whole lot of credit!

Joe Flacco sets NFL wins mark in styleDecember, 9, 2013 By Jamison Hensley | ESPN.com Quarterback Joe Flacco's game-winning touchdown pass to Marlon Brown on Sunday just didn't keep the Baltimore Ravens' playoff hopes alive. It made him the winningest quarterback over the first six seasons of an NFL career. The Ravens' 29-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings was Flacco's 61st in the regular season. This moved him over Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who had 60 victories in his first six seasons (2004 to 2009). While Flacco doesn't put up the passing numbers of a $100 million quarterback, he continues to excel in the category that most quarterbacks are judged by -- wins. "Joe [Flacco] is our guy, and to me, that’s all you really need to say," coach John Harbaugh said after Sunday's game. "I love him, and I respect him, and I think he is a great player. I always have.” Flacco set the wins mark in dramatic fashion. He did so by producing his 18th career game-winning drive in the fourth quarter or overtime. After the Vikings took back the lead for the third time, Flacco drove the Ravens 80 yards in the final 45 seconds for the victory. Was it difficult for Flacco not to get swept up in the see-saw of emotions? "You get a little bit low, but it’s more just shock," said Flacco, who finished 28-of-50 for 245 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. "Rather than low, you get pissed [thinking], ‘Are you kidding me? How did this happen?’ You take the field, and you see what you can do. Was it unlikely that we win this game today? Probably, but we did.” Before the Ravens drafted Flacco in the first round of the 2008 draft, they went through 15 starting quarterbacks in the franchise's first 12 years of existence. No Ravens quarterback before Flacco won more than 20 games. Flacco has been the Ravens' only starting quarterback for the past six seasons and improved his regular-season record to 61-32. http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/4395/joe-flacco-sets-nfl-wins-mark-in-style

Replaced by Bears / Eagles. That's a mistake in my opinion. Don't see how that game will be a bigger draw. Our game is moved to the 4:25 time slot. I'm disappointed. I love the all-day tailgating that accompanies the Sunday night home games. The magnitude of this game was going to make it that much better.

Sunday was Flacco's 18th game winning drive of his career. I decided to look at some per year averages of other notable QBs (the stat has been kept since 1960). Dan Marino - 51 (3 per year) Peyton Manning - 51 (3.4 per year) John Elway - 46 (2.88 per year) Brett Favre - 45 (2.25 per year) Tom Brady - 42 (3 per year) Joe Montana - 33 (2.06 per year) Drew Brees - 33 (2.54 per year) Ben Roethlisberger - 31 (3.10 per year) Tony Romo -22 (2.2 per year) Joe seems to fit in quite nicely with these all-time greats at an even 3 per year. BTW...we may need to give Matty No-Dice a little credit here. He already has 24 which comes in at an even 4 per year.

Well...I haven't responded to you in quite awhile, but you're right. Why does anyone waste their time? It's exactly what you are hoping for and the only reason why you are here. I guess that's why there are trolls on every message board. My bad GerastaMax. Won't happen again.

Just because people aren't as simple-minded as you, doesn't make them groupies. In my mind, the only position on the offense that has collectively performed up to playoff standards is actually the position people were most concerned with and that's WR. I give TE a pass because of Pitta's injury. The OL and RBs were supposed to be strengths of the team. The rushing game is dead last in the NFL. Teams are throwing only 6-men in the box against it and we still can't run the ball. That makes the offense one-dimensional. Newsflash...that's not good. If you want to continue to just say it comes down to one guy...have at it, but that's where the "broken record" comes in. Football is a team game.
-
Completely agree. In this case, however, you cannot have a discussion with a broken record (GeRastaMo).
-
You think they were rooting for another clutch finish?
-
Is it just me, or does Ben look like "Little" Ben next to Joe?
-
Obviously, I don't think we can expect a better record than 9-7. That means we need two more losses put on the Bengals before week 17. The Bengals / Chargers game will go along way towards determining what I am putting my hopes on. Whatever the outcome of that game, it both hurts and helps the Ravens.

This threw him off:

You finally get it. It's a Thanksgiving miracle

You talk about Flacco 95% of the time on this board. You are obsessed with the man. I guarantee Flacco haunts your dreams.

Ray Lewis continues to believe that the lights going out in the Superdome was some sort of conspiracy. It's flat out embarrassing.
-
He's a liar AND he's not a man of his word? This is such a fitting post for you. It took everyone on the board less than ten minutes to figure out you are simply redundant.

Eugene Monroe will be signed long term. Yanda and Osemele will be fine. It's very feasible to find a quality RT to replace Oher. I'm not giving up on Gino, but they will draft (or sign) better competition. Bottom line...you invest in the OL with Flacco. It's on him to make due with the rest. I'm not comparing Flacco to Brady (for the benefit of the trolls on here), but NE's philosophy with Brady has always been to put a quality line in front of him and do their best with the rest. It's simply the right way to do things when you have a franchise QB.

You would think Ray Ray would be a little more grateful for the fairy tale ending to his career that Joe provided.
