  1. Good to see you are as clueless as ever.
  2. Billick would have taken shots at someone. Harbaugh knows there's nothing that can be done about it, so why make enemies.
  3. I'm sorry...when did Miami become some sort of benchmark? The Dolphins are not a good football team. I actually look at it as the Browns just lost by 13 points at home to a team that finished 7-9 last year.
  4. Crav...I don't view it as a coaching blunder. The problem was that Harbaugh had to waste a challenge in the first half to overturn that horrendous missed call on the pass that bounced a foot in front of Thomas. If Harbaugh had both challenges still in his pocket, he wouldn't have hesitated. As it was, if he was wrong on the Welker play, the Ravens would have had zero challenges left for almost the entire 2nd half. The Welker play was a lot closer and they weren't showing the replay in Denver. I think the NFL should change the challenge rule to if you are correct on your first challenge, you get two more regardless of if you are right or wrong on your 2nd challenge.
  5. I disagree on Rainey. I want the best possible ST units and that means having Allen. It's possible neither makes it (with 2 FBs), but if one does, I hope it's Allen. I believe Rainey can go on the practice squad. Brown definitely has a bright future. Mellette may as well.
  6. Aaron Rodgers is absolutely a mobile QB. His rushing yards per season are on a par with Tarkenton and Young who are considered two of the all-time best mobile QBs. Here's a list: http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/09000d5d8089c108/article/top-10-mobile-quarterbacks-in-nfl-history
  7. I'm as excited as anyone about Melette and Brown, but it simply is not a smart plan to go into the regular season expecting anything from either. Moore had 200 less yards and 3 more TDs than Boldin did last year. When the Ravens let go of Boldin, I stated they felt they could replace 80% of Boldin's production at 20% his cost. They do better on both ends with a duplicate year from Moore (wearing purple).
  8. He's more talented and polished than anything we have on the roster (short of T.Smith of course). He's cheap for this year and next. It sounds like Oakland may want to part ways (while they can still get some return). He can also return punts if needed (probably the only reason for keeping Doss). I mention Doss as part of the trade, because the Ravens would save face a little by not having to cut a 4th rounder. Oakland would be more interested in the 4th round pick it would take. Another possibility might be McPhee (instead of a pick).
  9. I am predicting that Denarius Moore will be a Raven within a week. They will trade Doss and a pick.
  10. For me it's not as scary as Jones being the #2. I want the Ravens to use Jones exactly as they did last year. He's a flat out difference maker on special teams and can make the occasional big play on offense when defenses forget about him.
  11. Joe is never going to be Tom Brady. We're talking about one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. The QBs that come to mind when talking about Joe from this point on are Eli and Ben. Those two both cashed in on long-term deals like Joe. They both have their issues and inconsistencies, but when push comes to shove are clutch, big-game QBs. It won't be smooth sailing all the time with Joe, but the Ravens will absolutely get their money's worth.
  12. Wrong IR stint. That was written in August, 2011. He was later placed on IR again in September, 2011 and released the following March under the "failed physical" designation.
  13. To sum up: A player cannot be released during the same league year he is put on IR, unless an injury settlement is reached. Once the new league year starts (March), that player can be released if he cannot pass the team physical.
  14. No, actually he didn't. They may have given him some sort of settlement, but they were under no obligation to do so. He was put on IR in September, 2011 and released March, 2012 (which is as soon as they were able to do so). http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2012-03-05/sports/bal-ravens-insider-ravens-release-cornerback-domonique-foxworth-20120305_1_domonique-foxworth-ravens-week
  15. Since he was put on IR last year, they have been able to cut him since the new league year started in March. He would be released under the "failed physical" designation. It's what they did with Foxworth.
  16. Jones, quite simply, never has been and never will be a #2. It's that simple. I would like to see Mellette run with the 1's next week.
  17. The last 5 Super Bowl winners and 46/60 playoff teams (since '08) have won 2+ preseason games. Which teams win preseason games? The deepest ones. There's a 53-man roster for a reason and the Ravens' depth truly is unparalleled in the league.
  18. I want Laquan to win the #2 and leave Jones as the #3/KR/PR. Stokley is our 3rd down specialist.
  19. If you ask me, we just signed our 3rd down package over the weekend. These guys have made careers out of converting 3rd and 7's. They also both know how to convert in the middle of the field.
  20. You know...while we are on the topic of Taylor...why the hell is he our backup? If Joe goes down (god forbid) we would need to change our entire offensive philosophy with Taylor. I know we ended up not needing him, but I felt very comfortable with Bulger as our backup. I just feel like we need someone who is a better fit. It's not like Taylor is a special player. It just doesn't make sense to me.
  21. I'm sorry...who looks better?
  22. I just want Taylor and Hanie to play well enough for us to get an honest look at the WRs. If I have to watch Taylor run all over the field for 2 quarters, I'm going to freaking scream. We all know Taylor can run.
  23. I'm talking about what teams will risk financially to land a franchise QB. Bradford is actually the best example. BTW...St. Louis wasn't forced to draft Bradford. When looking at the QB deals, guaranteed money is the only thing that counts. Romo's and Ryan's deals dwarf Flacco's with guaranteed money. Stop talking about stats. Flacco played the bulk of his first 5 years under Cam Cameron and in the AFC North. He also plays the bulk of his games outdoors. Comparing him statistically to Matt Ryan (for an example) is like comparing apples to oranges. Ryan's stats would be no better (and probably worse) than Flacco's if Ryan was in the same situation. I love fantasy football, but I swear people have lost touch with many realities of the game.
  24. "Joe Flacco will never win a Super Bowl in this lifetime" - LaMarr Woodley
  25. Every team without a franchise QB would pay what the Ravens paid for Flacco. Dallas and Atlanta paid more for QBs who have accomplished less. Seattle, SF and DC will roll with their QBs under their rookie contracts just like the Ravens did with Joe. If they continue being successful, they will then sign those QBs to monster contracts. St. Louis gave a guy who hadn't played a down in the the NFL a $78mil contract in their quest for a franchise QB.
