  1. Well...I guess Indy is even a worse run franchise. The point is...Rainey is mediocre at best. He would have looked just as bad as Rice and Pierce did last year (had he been here).
  2. Well...they knew enough to recoup a 1st round draft pick from Indy for what has turned out to be a very average RB.
  3. Maybe Rasta knows something we don't. Was the draft cancelled this year? Are the Ravens banned from free agency?
  4. Absolutely. Rainey had 2 great games last year. Other than those 2 games, his season was comprised of being cut loose by the freakin' Browns (who had no RBs) and averaging right around 3 ypc. In his last 3 games of the season, he had 42 carries for 99 yards. That actually makes Rice look good.
  5. Crap. I thought Indy gave us a 7th for taking Shipley.
  6. Do you think he can get a word in with all the blabbering and excuses coming from Rice?
  7. No kidding...what a surprise. It was all three of them as always. They have a great working relationship and the Ravens are NOT a dysfunctional organization.
  8. Castillo would be gone already if Shanahan accepted the QB coach position. He still may, but I'm guessing he accepts the OC position in Cleveland. Bad move for him.
  9. Well...no Shanahan now, but still a very exciting day.
  10. What you just quoted was Mike Preston's opinion which he threw out there in an attempt to get named by national sources. Good for him...
  11. Don't be annoying. Do you realize it's actually unusual for HCs to hire complete strangers to fill out their staffs?
  12. I think Castillo could very well be out.
  13. Kubiak - OC Shanahan - QB coach Dennison - RB coach Unbelievable. How can anyone doubt this organization??! We are very lucky as fans!!! Former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has emerged as the favorite for the Baltimore Ravens' vacant offensive coordinator job, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Kubiak, who was fired by the Texans in December, wants to bring former Houston offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan with him to Baltimore, sources told Schefter. The Ravens are attempting to assemble their offensive coaching "dream team" with the recruitment of Kubiak, Dennison and Shanahan, according to sources. Kubiak and Dennison both met with Ravens officials Sunday in Baltimore, sources said. The Ravens are looking to replace former offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell, who was hired as the Detroit Lions' head coach earlier this month. Baltimore struggled offensively this season, ranking 29th in the NFL in total offense and 25th in scoring. The Ravens averaged a franchise-worst 3.1 yards per carry, and quarterback Joe Flacco threw a career-high 22 interceptions in 2013, one year removed from winning the Super Bowl. Kubiak was fired on Dec. 6 amid the worst losing streak in Texans franchise history. Houston concluded the season with 14 consecutive losses, including three under interim coach Wade Phillips. The 52-year-old Kubiak went 61-64 in seven-plus seasons with the Texans, coaching Houston to playoff appearances in 2011 and 2012. He previously served as a longtime offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos, working under Mike Shanahan from 1995 to 2005. Kyle Shanahan, who was fired with his father by the Redskins on Dec. 30, already had been established as a candidate for Baltimore's offensive coordinator. Ravens coach John Harbaugh named three other candidates -- Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler, former Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson -- last week. Baltimore brought back Shanahan and Wilson for second interviews, but Wilson was eliminated from the running Saturday. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10358632/gary-kubiak-former-houston-texans-coach-favorite-baltimore-ravens-offensive-coordinator
  14. That was a completely classless move. Anyone who thinks Sherman had an ounce of sincerity is kidding themselves. Completely transparent. The choke sign right after that was just as classless. The "interview" was just ridiculous. Whatever. Not everyone can have class.
  15. GerRastamo is not completely off on this. Joe does have a below average Wonderlic score (for a starting QB). Of course so does Peyton, Brees and Ben, so take that for what it's worth.
  16. There isn't a single thing he has written in this entire thread that makes sense.
  17. Suggs had 20 tackles and 1 sack the last 8 games of the year. We were 5-3.
  18. Much like Boldin, I can't see him being worth more to anyone.
  19. I just remembered why I didn't think Cle would franchise Mack. If they do, they will need to pay him the average of the top 5 paid offensive linemen (which I'm pretty sure are all LTs). They do not differentiate between OL positions when determining the franchise number.
  20. I think they need better than "middle of the pack". Joe got into the most trouble last year when there was pressure up the middle. When he was able to step up in the pocket (to avoid the man that beat Oher like a drum), he had good success. Osemele, Mack/DLP, Yanda would give Joe a very formidable inside 3.
  21. They went the "journeyman" route last year with Shipley. Upgrading that position is too important for them to take that route again. You may be right about Mack. Brian De La Puente would be my second choice.
  22. Per PFF...our line ranked 28th. Obviously unacceptable. Some players to focus in on: LT: Monroe: +24 C: Gradkowski: -18 (Shipley was also -18). I think this supports my belief that we need to re-sign Monroe and go after Alex Mack hard (even if that means parting ways with Suggs). https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/13/2013-offensive-line-rankings/
  23. Bingo. The Ravens should invest their available money in the OL this year (re-sign Monroe and sign Mack...even if that means parting ways with Suggs). I would like to see them draft offense with at least their first 3 picks. The only way I want to see a defensive player taken is if one falls to them and he's just too good to pass up. Maybe a Khalil Mack or CJ Mosley. I could also understand a FS. Otherwise, I would like to see one of the stud TEs and a WR in the first two rounds. Then OL in the 3rd. I also want them to draft one of those short, fast, versatile guys later in the draft. Preferably one who can handle kick/punt returns. An example would be Dri Archer out of Kent State.
