  1. Yup...Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be without four starters vs. Ravens (espn.com) Today's Quote: Unfortunately for Baltimore, the points the offense is scoring and the deficit it creates is leading to the discovery of the teams' weaknesses. as opposed to the opposite like with some of the old colts cover 2 teams. PGWE: Why W-L Record Underrates the Ravens | Football Outsiders
  2. Roman has not made the adjustment as a play caller for the passing attack. Let him go if you can find somebody better, but that somebody is not on the Ravens coaching staff. Roman and Lamar are responsible for the inconsistent 26th ranked passing attack. The Ravens would have 4 or 5 more TD's if Lamar was accurate. You have to shoulder some of the blame on Lamar. Then the issues at WR. Bateman has been hurt and missed games. (The Ravens’ No. 1 receiver, Bateman was tied with Houston’s Brandin Cooks heading into Week 8 with a league-leading five drops, according to Pro Football Focus.) Robinson and Likely have not made an impact. They are leaning on the run since Gus came back....as they should. Get the rushing attack going to control the game and reduce turnovers until they can get the passing attack fixed. This is a good read for the upcoming Bucs game....
  3. Ravens are 2nd team in NFL history with 3 players on their active roster who have totaled over 90 career sacks: Justin Houston (106 sacks) Calais Campbell (96.5) Jason Pierre-Paul (92.5) If only Fuller was healthy. The Ravens are starting to look strong as far as rushing the passer. Oweh, Houston, JPP, Campbell. Jones (don't forget the rookie!). Toss in Bowser and Ojabo. If they get healthy.... this could really turn into a strength that was hard to see beck in September. Pressure Brady. You know what happens. Speaking of pressure: Justin Houston: "I think what we've been going through is just growing pains. I prefer to go through it at the beginning of the season than the end. We all know, you've just got to get hot at the right time. I love our team. I think we've got everything we need to win it. We've just got to continue to build and grow. That's what we've been doing, and it showed today. We had guys step up on special teams, defense and offense to make plays and get us this victory." [7:05 AM] Gus Edwards: ""It was a must-win situation, big divisional game, a rivalry game. We have momentum now, and we just have to keep building it up. We're going to find out about ourselves in the weeks to come." Calias Campbell: "We've got a lot of fighters; a lot of fighters. We believe in each other, and we work really hard to prepare. But the biggest thing is that we want to keep getting better, and I think we are getting there at the right time of the season. Justin Houston came up big for us today. I thought he was the best player on the field when he was out there. And Gus [Edwards], the same thing. The offense looks totally different when he is out there. He made some big runs, got into the end zone [twice], and changed the way we played. He took the ball for us at some critical moments, and all of those things added up to put us in position to win the ball game. And it's not just them, it's everybody. Everybody stepped up today. We had opportunities today, and we took advantage of them. And we played our game.
  4. Think of all the lean years we've been through, yet we always had some super stars and characters to entertain us.
  5. Tampa Bay has now lost 4 of its last 5 games after starting the season 2-0. Looks like a trap. Feels like a trap. The Ravens have to break this "Win One, Lose One" Spell. Thursday night's the night. ESPN Matchup Indicator gives the Ravens a 45.7% chance of winning but that changes up and down rapidly. Ravens are +2.5-point spread. However, the Ravens are 8-4 on Thursday night. Baltimore is 4-2 vs the Bucs. Lamar was 12-0 vs NFC Teams until the Giants loss. So.....we have that going for us. And a little MoJo here... Then again...Brady is 6-2 all time vs the Ravens. But....but.... he's a little older now.... Team Stats Points Per Game 25.9 17.7 Points Allowed Per Game 23.0 17.7 Total Yards 355.9 341.9 Yards Passing 199.6 277.4 Yards Rushing 156.3 64.4 Yards Allowed 385.1 328.7 Pass Yards Allowed 280.0 210.4 Rush Yards Allowed 105.1 118.3 summoned the best minds to get an accurate prediction: After deep contemplation... see a Ravens win and this season entering the Twilight Zone of a Mike Preston prediction of their destiny: Ravens are in position to make a run, warts and all
  6. 254 total yards of offense. Let that sink in. Ravens D had 5 sacks 5 tackles for a loss, 5 QB hits a few were nasty, hey...they came through 3 penalties. 1 turnover. Progress 7 for 14 on 3rd down Browns 336 yards of offense. Ravens 254 Big reason Ravens won this game was special teams. Duvernay’s long return set up points. Tucker from 55 yards in fourth quarter. Stout had his best day. Block FG. I'm happy and amazed that they won. It was actually a really great day at the Bank because of all the 2012 stuff going on. At the end it was great to see the 2012 players cheering on the Ravens to get a stop. Ed and Jacoby were having a ball Ravens (4-3) Bengals (4-3) Browns (2-5) Steelers (2-5)
  7. Come on Dee. The 254 yards of offense should have been more than enough to blow you away! The 2012 celebration helped to overlook the crummy announcer and empty seats. That is a story to watch. I think it's a combo of out-of-town Browns fans not buying tickets because I hardly saw any Browns fans and the lousy long string of home losses.....and the disgusting string of 4th quarter meltdowns. But this was a huge game for the Ravens and fans should have packed the stands. The cheerleaders are something to watch all the time... I had a great time with my son. There were a lot of great plays sprinkled in with the bad ones. Seeing Gus was great. Special Teams win. Typical Win Ugly Ravens game.
  8. I'd say JK is done for this season unless the scope really gets the job done. They'll be fine with Hill dand Drake and Lamar. Jeff Zrebiec • Ravens will have over 50 members of the SB-winning XLVII-winning team at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday for the 10-year anniversary of franchise’s second world championship. Fans encouraged to be in their seats by 12:30 p.m., when team will be be announced and recognized. Ravens executive VP Ozzie Newsome and former players Ray Lewis and Ed Reed will also address crowd during on-field halftime tribute Sunday of the Super Bowl XLVII champs. It's going to be so much fun Sunday seeing all of the 2012 team and to hear Ozzie, Ray and ED. They are here now and will have a dinner tonight. I'm sure it's going to rub off on these 2022 Ravens.
  9. Good Posts guys. Yes...3-3 is as mediocre as you can get. The good news is it's a mediocre NFL at this point in the season. 10 teams are 3-3. 12 teams have 4 or more losses. Parity strikes. Our Identity used to be great defense, hard smash mouth football and win ugly. The only Identity that I see today is that they will be running the ball at will the rest of this season. They will be a top 5 scoring offense. It's the Lamar era and no way do I want to lose him. Ravens football is too much fun to watch, and they won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. Why not Lamar? Special teams is good and getting better. The story from here on out is defensive improvement. Watch Travis Jones Sunday. He might eat up the Brown center. Bowser and Houston will be back. Somebody will develop into a solid 3rdv CB between Stephens, Williams and Davis. Queen's been playing better each week. He's not Ray Lewis but he is progressing. Madubuike is going to make a name for himself. He's breaking out. Pierce was a bust. He keeps convincing teams to give him money. Ojabo may be a helpful rotational/situational player come December. Macdonald is learning on the job and learning his players strengths and weaknesses. He has a good mind. He will evolve. My point? It's too early to rule the defense out. They can improve a lot because the talent is there. If they don't improve, then it will be a short post season run. I think they will surprise us.
  10. Jamison Hensley • — Yesterday at 4:41 PM Ravens QB Lamar Jackson had a full practice Thursday. He was limited with a hip injury on Wednesday. [4:44 PM] Ravens injury report - Thursday DID NOT PRACTICE TE Mark Andrews (knee) RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) CB Marcus Peters (quad) FB Patrick Ricard (knee) LIMITED WR Rashod Bateman DE Calais Campbell OLB Justin Houston OT Morgan Moses G Ben Cleveland FULL QB Lamar Jackson OT R. Stanley Let's keep it this way. Let 3-3 be our bottom.
  11. Ravens DC Mike Macdonald said reducing fourth-quarter touchdowns is a point of emphasis. “It’s not an Illuminati, Level 33 secret,” he said.
  12. The Ravens rank 1st in yards per carry. Last 4 games averaging 180 yards on the ground. What does this quote from Jeff tell you? ...."Cleveland Browns defense that is allowing 5.0 yards per rushing attempt. Only five NFL defenses are surrendering more yards per carry, and only eight are giving up more rushing yards per game." Stanley's back The O line is blocking better as a group. Hill is back. Drake is breaking out after getting over his knee issues and Gus should be back for Thursday night vs the Bucs. And Lamar's pissed off.
  13. Hopefully Andrews knee problem isn't too serious. Jamison Hensley • TweetShift BOT — Today at 2:17 PM Good news for #Ravens … 4 players returned to practice after missing Wednesday: WR Devin Duvernay DE Calais Campbell RT Morgan Moses G Ben Cleveland Bad news … 4 players remain sidelined: TE Mark Andrews (knee) RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) CB Marcus Peters FB Patrick Ricard (knee) [2:22 PM] Rashod Bateman practiced for the second straight day. He’s missed the last two games with a left foot injury. Lamar Jackson has posted a 72.6 QBR in the first three quarters, the third-best mark in the league. In the fourth, he's down to 28.4. The league's fifth-best pass defense by QBR before the final 15 minutes is suddenly dead last in QBR in the fourth quarter. The Ravens have a plus-six turnover differential in quarters 1-3 but a minus-two differential in the fourth.
  14. Jamison Hensley • TweetShift BOT — Yesterday at 4:43 PM Lamar Jackson on team's mindset: "Our attitude is we’re pissed off about losing. But at the same time, we can’t dwell on it. We have to move on and focus on the Browns. We’re just ready to put on a show because we’re so mad." [4:46 PM] Lamar Jackson on an offense that has scored 4 TDs in 10 red-zone drives in last 3 games: "We know what we’re supposed to do. We’re the offense. Our job is to score points. We’re not trying to rely on [Justin Tucker]. The only time we should rely on him is for extra points." Jamison Hensley on Twitter “Ravens injury report Wednesday: Did not practice TE Mark Andrews (knee) RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) DE Calais Campbell (foot) RT Morgan Moses (heel) FB Patrick Ricard (knee) LIMITED QB Lamar Jackson (hip) WR Rashod Bateman (foot) LB J.Houston (groin) *WR Devin Duvernay got rest day”
  15. Kolar is cleared to practice. His window ends in 21 days. Window for Gus is 10/26. Ojabo and Boweser 11/2. Help is on the way!
  16. If it keeps up like this and the Ravens flop again then you just might get your wish Grubbe. Roman has to take the next step and evolve as a play caller. From Zrebiec..." there’s no good explanation for not rushing the ball once when you have three opportunities from the 5-yard line to score against a defense that couldn’t stop the run. The Ravens were averaging 9.0 yards per carry at that point of the third quarter. New York hasn’t stopped the run for much of the season. Jackson or Drake has to get at least one carry in that spot."
  17. The Baltimore Ravens have a 66.8 win % in this game and ESPN's always right. Jamison? "I'm so glad that you asked. The Ravens are favored by 6.5 points over the Browns on Sunday, per @CaesarsSports. Lamar Jackson is 23-3 (.884) straight-up when favored by at least 6 points. Only losses: vs. Browns (2019), at Patriots (2020) and at Dolphins (2021)." This is a very important "in division" game for both teams. The Browns are 1 and 5 coming off the beat down at the hands of the Patriots. The Ravens our 3 and 3 coming off another horrific fourth-quarter meltdown. The Ravens are still in the hunt the division title, but a loss would seriously hurt them. A loss for the Browns and you could say their done for this year. Few will lament that. Both head coaches were saying the same thing late Sunday afternoon. “I know I believe in the people in that locker room. I really do. I’ve seen it,” Stefanski eventually said. “We just have to focus on one game at a time. I understand what that looked like. I understand that we got beat. That’s what it looked like. That’s what it felt like. I get it." LOL! Coaches after losses. They all sound the same. In case your mind is wandering.... Time for our "Not So Impressive Team Stats: Browns Ravens Points Per Game 24.7 26.3 Points Allowed Per Game 27.2 23.5 Total Yards 393.0 368.5 Yards Passing 221.0 212.8 Yards Rushing 172.0 155.7 Yards Allowed 371.8 387.5 Pass Yards Allowed 240.3 283.7 Rush Yards Allowed 131.5 103.8 In many ways this is like last Sundays game. Stop Chubb and force Brissett to beat them with his arm. The Ravens held Barkley to 85 yards and let Jones beat them with his arm. Will this happen again? The Patriots held Chubb to 18n carries for 70 yards and 3.9 ypc and 0 TD's The Ravens held Barkeley to 22 carries for 83 yards and a 3.8 yards per carry average and one TD. The Patriots won and the Ravens lost. Lamar needs to settle down and stop playing Hero ball. Take what the Browns give him and win. Then he won't have to spend sleepless nights seeing this...... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-orbXcIchehc/UFxOVJmOk8I/AAAAAAAADFo/tc63uabhhjU/s320/throwing-money-away.gif see a Ravens win at home. The 12th man made the difference in the last home game of the Ravens win over the Bengals and it will be the same this week.
  18. This week is over. Time to move on...
  19. He'll be long gone by the time the Ravens pick.
  20. Here's more from Zrebiec....... "That hasn’t happened often enough and Jackson’s role in the struggles is tough to overlook. In the fourth quarter this year, he’s completed 29 of 45 passes for 326 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions. He had only six fourth-quarter interceptions in his first four NFL seasons. His quarterback rating in the fourth quarter this season is just 56.3, his lowest of any quarter by a wide margin. Jackson’s rating is 97.8 in the first quarter, 114.8 in the second and 100.6 in the third.
  21. This deserves to stand alone...
  22. Why didn't Roman keep running the ball in the 2nd half? The Giants could not stop it. Things are heading south.... I heard on the radio that Allen's 4th quarter passer rating for this season is 120. Lamars is around 50. His numbers keep getting worse.
  23. Alarming fact: Jeff Zrebiec • — Today at 8:51 AM Ravens defense has gotten much of the criticism for the 4th quarter meltdowns and deservedly so. Offense plenty culpable, too. Ravens have had 15 full 4th quarter drives. They've either thrown INTs or fumbled on 6 of them. And they've turned ball over on downs once My random thoughts: 2 turnovers and 10 penalties will get you a loss on the road almost every time. Peters and Humphrey seem a step slower. That's a concern. Tackling has been an issue. it was better yesterday. The Ravens got away from running the ball in the 2nd half and the Giants didn't. They played "Raven Ball" and won ugly. The Ravens run out of gas in the 4th quarter. On the passing attack: Lamar completed 53% of his passes. Not good. He missed wide open receivers for TD's. Make 1 of those and Ravens win. Andrews bails him out with some spectacular catches every game. Balls that are "in the neighborhood." Duverney too. There was some drops. There were 17 receptions on 32 targets for 210 yards and 1 TD. 12.4ypp. He hit 7 receivers. I'm giving myself today to work this loss off and then I'll move onto the upcoming Browns game tomorrow. As bad a yesterday was there a lot of good too. 4 sacks. 6 tackles for a loss. 5 QB hits. They held Barkley to 3.8 ypc. Travis Jones and Madubuike had awesome games. Kenyon Drake! 10 carries, 119 yards! 11.9 ypc! Why didn't the Ravens simply run over a Giants defense who were powerless against the run!? The Ravens receivers were open. Lamar couldn't get them the ball. I'm mainly disappointed. Campbell, Travis Jones, Madubuke, and Queen on defense had good games. Duverney had 1 catch on 5 targets. That hurt. Finally, and once again: 2 turnovers and 10 penalties will get you a loss on the road almost every time.
