Some of the media is waking up...they finally noticed who the Ravens picked up after noticing only the losses. From SI.... "Hey! They barely mentioned the running game!"

Agree. He doesn't have 50% of the fire in Williams.

Accuracy is not one of Flacco's faults. Consistency is. He gets on hot and cold streaks. When he's hot he makes every throw on a dime. Then he'll disappear for a quarter or so, but if you watch the coaches tape, his receivers are not getting open and the line is not giving him time. What Joe does very well is when his line and receivers are struggling, he does not force things and make the costly turnovers. He's more like "we'll live to fight another day, but I'm not going to take a chance and give them the ball on the 40." Funny thing happened last year. Once he got a new OC in Caldwell and the line performed better, he tied Montana for the best playoff performance in NFL history. You have to be accurate to do that.

Me too! I remember being outside the hotel watching players check in....that was good enough for me. McAlister rolling in a huge flat screen tv....Jamal in his monster truck. Remember Goose landing on the field in a helicopter in 2001? I'll never forget 1 play...I was standing maybe 15 yards away. In 2000 they handed some rookie RB the ball and Sam Adams steamed through the line unblocked and leveled him. Hit him like a tidal wave. It actually was scary because I don't know how you survive such a hit. The guy was no good after that.

He's not making it through 16 game seasons now. If the team makes the playoffs, then what are the odds on him being healthy and effective come playoff time? Not good. Then again...the Steelers won their Super Bowls in spite of him.
-
Yea...rookies on the 21st.....13 days...
-
Yes....but then he fell apart...as usual...hence scouts talking about him being on the decline.
-
It sure has been dead trying to find things to talk about. It's like this every July. I think the rookies report on the 21st.
-
He cost them a playoff spot... Steep is a strong word but he's hurt and missing games every season.
-
He set a great example for his players.... They should test him for pot.

It's just awesome that we can talk about plays like that and players like Manny. Times have changed for the better. Lost in all the O's fever is Markakis (3 hits). He's hitting .455 this month...10 for 22.

Ozzie is so pissed about how teams ran on the Ravens last year that he went all out to bring in serious competition to put an end to that.
-
If he is not 100% ready for camp then it will be sometime during the season when he sees the field. Everybody will be way ahead of him. Harbaugh will make him win and earn his spot. He'll be a 'back up' in the rotation. I think Brandon Williams will step ahead of him on the depth chart too. What I'm hoping for is that he sees all the competition and comes back motivated and 100% healthy. Then he could be very valuable off the bench. It's not all over for him yet. Just about...but.. he can change that by playing like his hairs on fire which is something that we haven't seen from him.

"Johnson! I knew he could do it!"
-
Johnson. Here we go!

OK...2 run homer by Jones...2-1 in the 9th. Now...who closes out the game?
-
Come on O's! It's 1-0....you can win this!

Dee's hard at work hacking into it now.... What am I talking about? ExtremeRavens merging with Extra Terrestial Ravens. Read and believe.... Did he just call us trolls in that last sentence? We're a little short on cash at the moment to build the spaceship power transmitters but crav has come up with a spectacular idea on how we can get in space inexpensively... Anyway...we're busy recruiting members to help us be the first message board on the block to take this to the next level..(see potential members below)

This is what I like hearing...

Some NFL fans may think that they are rabid fanatics, but in comparison to other parts of the world, they are rather tame...

We are all very familiar with the huge roster turnover this year. We look at this new 2013 Ravens roster and wonder if this will be an 8-8 squad or gel into a playoff contender because of all the new faces. Well..."We have all been here before"....in 2008. Our staff of scientific experts here at ER has proof...see below. Let's take a trip in the 'Way Back' machine to 2008. The 2008 off season started with Billick getting canned and an unknown Special Teams coordinator, John Harbaugh, being given the Head Coaching position. Malcom Cameron was named OC after failing with the Dolphins as their HC. Steve McNair retires. Flynn was released and Ogden announced his retirement in June. The big Free Agent acquisitions that year were Ayambadejo and Frank Walker. They got Fabian Washington through a draft trade. They had the 4th toughest strength of schedule in the NFL. They had a very good draft but we did not know that at that time: Flacco, Rice, Goodin, Zibby, Cousins, Marcus Smith, Hale Nakamura, Harper and Patrick. Samari Rolle played hurt and missed 6 games. McAlister only had 5 starts and was IR'd. The secondary was a rotation of Walker, Washington, Reed, Zibby, Leonard, Ivy and Nakamura. The O line was Anderson, Brown, Chester, Grubbs, and Gaither. Heap and Wilcox were the TE's. Clayton, Figurs and Mason the WR's. Lorenzo Neil at FB with a RB rotation of McGahee, Rice and McLain...not too shabby. OH...and it looked like Boller would be the starting QB. That roster looked weak (at least to me!) in early July of 2008. The Ravens had gone 5-11 the year before and maybe .500 would be a good step forward. In stead, they went 11-5 and won 2 playoff games before losing in the AFC Championship game. Now....I'm not saying the same similar season will happen for the 2013 Ravens, but their draft looks like it has the potential to have the same results as the 2008 draft. I'm banking on Elam, Brown, Williams, the Polak and others to be pleasant surprises. Right now I'll take Canty, Huff, Daryl Smith, Dumervil and Spears over the 2008 FA signings. Looks way better. After this exercise, the prospects for the 20013 season look better too. Because 'We have all been here before'.

Which guy would you want to be the face of your team? Him? or him? Joe went downy ocean hon!
