This draft...the Ravens drafted for need and still could stay true to their board. Pure, solid luck. I was able to hear Jimmy Smith talk at length on Saturday on WBAL and he sounded mature and like he has his head on straight. I like him as a person. He's been in no trouble for 2 years and has a college degree in Criminology. The Ravens are lucky the league didn't do their homework on him...they got a top 10 pick at 27. He's going to be huge for this defense with his range, size, speed and heart. I would have liked to see the Ravens draft a linebacker...Ray has to have 1 more good year left in him. The Ravens have nobody to step in. Speaking of Ray....what an incredible man! Did you hear what he did this weekend? The pass rush. Ravens struck out. Smith will help because QB's will have to look longer to find a receiver, but unless Kindle can play and make the impact predicted for him, then the pressure will be the same as last year. Maybe Pagano has an answer. I know Ozzie will be shopping. Reid could be the answer at RT. Cousins isn't and they need Yanda back at guard. Reid has a nasty mean streak that Ozzie loves. The guy I hope develops is Harewood. He would be an out and out beast. Got to get everybody on that line playing in their best, natural position. I love the drating of Torrey Smith. My hopes were the Ravens would get Jimmy and Torrey with their first 2 picks. I saw plenty of Torrey Smith at Maryland and he's a flat out playmaking threat every down. The guys with incredible blazing speed can never seem to catch the ball. Torrey has great speed but he catches anything near him and then dusts the defender. Blink or slip and it's 7. His career numbers would have been incredible if he didn't have Napoleon Dynamite throwing to him for 2 years. Doss supposedly is one tough Ninja...he mysteriously shows up in the open holes of the zones and has great hands. Flacco wanted him...Flacco got him. So long TJ, Stallworth and some of the back ups who have had more than enough time to develop and haven't. This is now a well loaded offenhse...don't forget Pita and Dixon...they will continue to get better. Tyrod Taylor???? I don't get it. What am I missing? CB Chykie Brown of Texas and defensive end Pernell McPhee of Mississippi State...just don't see them making the final roster. Anthony Allen...has the size but doesn't look like a Jamal Lewis to me...we'll see...he should make the roster.

Nice win and game tonight. Good pitching...Wieters continues to be a force...Guerro 3 hit night...Lee is starting to hit.

I'm amazed Snyder hasn't signed and way over paid 2-3 big name FA's by now.

This test was spiked. Every boxer tested positive for THC.

Happy Birthday!

So the playing field will even up since Joe has old guys in Mason, Heap, TJ, Stallworth and Bouldin.
-
As long as these two are in the league there will be these debates. Bottom line: Not a bad thing to have either one at QB.

I have no problem with that...the kids are off Friday anyway....lot of parents too...not me though... It's always been an advantage for Mexico's Team to play at home on Thanksgiving so I think this is great for the Ravens. No traveling and we get to showcase "our home" for a change.
-
This is one of the better schedules I've seen in years. The Home Thanksgiving game almost gives them a bye for the next week. The week 4 bye comes after a full training camp, 4 pre season games and 4 regular season games....so looking at the overall "bye" situation = not bad. Strength of schedule: nice. We know that changes as teams rise and fall each year but for an opening bottom line it's very favorable. Also...it seems for the last few years the Ravens were facing a ton of excellent QB's or defenses...not so this year. The core of the team is intact and healthy so, labor unrest and all....they should make the playoffs again.
-
The Orioles are hitting teams who are catching fire so everything has to go right for them...which it's not. They haven't found their "identity" or winning formula. It's still very early in the season, but they look like an "around .500 team." Just don't have the stuff to hang with the big dogs. Then again....we knew that. When they start hitting, they could go on some good runs.

Good. Expect Harbaugh and the Ravens to show no mercy. Going to a Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons game is a painfull experience. It's punishment.

I'm working on her crav. Uncle Mo is intrieging...not a fav but he could win this and pay big.
-
First time I've seen him admit he's mortal. We all know the end of Rays career is close...simple logic. He's been giving signs that he sees the end this off season by saying how much fun he's having with his free time starting businesses and helping people. He's definately setting up "life after football". After years of listening to Ray, you can hear him "psyching" himself up for the big plunge. He's searching...starting to set goals...creating a vision...getting pumped... That's typical Ray because his method works.

"What?! You don't like a good comedy!"

Big game against the Stankies tonight. The O's have to start hitting now or they will be burried by this time next week.
-
We got to move on to the ponies crav.
-
I think the league has given up on that plan for now. It won't fly with the players. The fans don't want it. I think it would be bad for the game. Getting games 2 and 3 at home is the best senario....we get to see the games where the starters play the most. I wonder if KC will be 'smarting' after that playoff loss.

What are the odds of all 4 games happening?>
-
Not that I know of yeager...I'm just worried that could happen without supervision. Nakamura was on the radio last night and he's a talker! He gave a lot of insight to the Ravens. He's not worried about his team mates being in shape and ready to play.....they aren't losers....teams too motivated to win it all. He also wants to wipe that smile off Wards face.

Suggs is making movies.... http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/sports/ravens/ravens-suggs-has-a-new-role-filmmaker/article_2e611aea-6317-11e0-a72f-001cc4c002e0.html ...when he isn't on the basketball court... Ray Lewis is starting 587 business's.... Reed, Flacco and Rice are beating fans out of their money... Offensive line coach Andy Moeller is well on his way to being the mentally healthiest person in the Ravens organization... Zibby is going around the country knocking out boxers. Derrick Mason is making Norris and Davis World famous by providing controversial quotes for an NFL news starved media on their show every week. Please...please don't tell me Mt Cody is up to 400 lbs. David Reed has resolved a marijuana charge against him without paying a fine or receiving jail time. ...and for any Ravens fans who are totally stressed out, for $2.50 you can sit in the weight room at the Castle and listen to...total silence, peace and quiet for hours on end.

Smith looks like the favorite... What are his character issues?
-
I gave up on baseball when I saw guys who couldn't hit and couldn't field making millions a year. I felt like a sucker. Especially when it cost me over $150 to take my kids to a game...that does not include the tickets...I had a season package. Football is getting ever so close to that. That's why I want a low salary CAP to protect the owners from themselves so they can't drive the price of games out of the true fans reach. Sadly...all that said...here I sit "Jones'n" for football talk.
-
I thought the injuries would bite this team in the won/loss collumn. Verlander is one hell of a good pitcher and the O's don't have anybody who could keep the game close. The errors hurt and guys like Jones swinging at anything hurt. Let's see how they respond to this loss. I'm hearing Guthrie could start Sunday. Amazing

I have no idea why he isn't a full fledged member of this board.
-
Remember how the season ended...his big drop? He felt terrible and wants to make that up some way to the fans, team and organization. I think a big part of that besides professional pride is that he loved it here...despite his limited role. I want him back but the Ravens also need to get younger and faster at WR. I don't think a Mason/Bouldin/TJ combo will get the passing game where it needs to go.
