  1. You have to factor in the QB's who were throwing to them....they would have killed Jerry Rice's career.
  2. Next weekend??? You think this is a serious move to get things done by March 3rd? To me, it looks like the NFL is caving in some to agree to see a mediator. They won't open the books, they want the union to get a lesser share and now they're saying "Let's go to a mediator. Maybe he can talk us into giving up money." I don't get it. What's the move behind this move? So they can say "We tried!" when they lock out the players?
  3. The article doesn't say anything new. I see nothing that says he's making any kind of progress. It does sound crazy Sergio...a million people wanting to be in the position where the next blow to the head might kill them.
  4. It's all heading that way...step by step. On Sundays we'll be stiiting down, hitting the "On Demand" Button and pay a premium charge to watch the Ravens game. They got us hooked and they know it.
  5. ...and this is where you can see the owners are at fault with the current state of affairs. They are the ones who insist on paying ridiculous money. The Snyders of the NFL. They wreck the CAP and salary structure. How they let the cost of first round draft picks get so absurd proves the owners need a CAP on themselves. Don't increase the CAP...keep it the same or lower... then they don't have to grease the fans or cry poor.
  6. Ditto! He would turn the D into Elite. To get to the Super Bowl the Ravens have to run through great QB's in Brady, Manning ,Whatshisname ect. Then they might meet an Aaron Rodgers in the Super Bowl. Got to have a true #1 shut down CB. That would lead to more sacks too. Don't forget...if Ed goes then that secondary gets real weak. This would be an excellent move. The bad news...I see no way the Ravens spend the dough that he will command....but you can dream.
  7. To begin, the league and the players are taking home more money than ever in the history of the game. If the Players get what they want, then the fans will be paying for it. Prices for everything will go up. Like baseball, we'll be watching below average players being paid millions to peddle their paltry wares before our aching eyes. If the Leagues gets what they want, then we may not get hosed so bad from the gate...the $4 bottles of water will stay at $4 and not go up to $5 for awhile...but the league has shown they want to get every penny they can from the Golden Goose. It's a matter of time before they get deeper into our pockets. The 18 game league proposal proves they care nothing about the players or the fans. It's for their pockets and benefit only. And of course...we lose if this doesn't get settled in a hurry. It could really suck if things aren't done untill July/August. What kind of football would we see then? We'd be paying premium dollars to watch teams fumble about trying to learn and execute their systems in September and October. Neither party cares about us at the moment. It's all about self serving greed. There's a huge pot of moneny and both parties want more. Expand the schedule, physically wreck and shorten the careers of the players, expand the league, water the product down even more, play overseas and force us to pay to watch every game on NFL Network. The Future. Oh...add empty stadiums to that.
  8. Belicheat and Coughlan. They would be boring as shit for interviews but they are the best at game planning. They generally and consistantly win the chess matches with opposing HC's. What goes with the HC is the coaching staff. The Ravens have been very adept at having great talent there. Of course the league consistantly raids it, so I worry about how deep/thin it's getting.
  9. I really like Harbaugh and I'm happy with locking him up. I'd take him over every HC in the NFL...all but 2. He's...cool....and his teams win and make the playoffs. We've got 3 years of him and now his challenges (or remaining mountains for him to climb) are clear: Beat the Steelers regularly, win the Division and secure home field, win the AFC Championship and win a Super Bowl. You can add; Beat the Colts and Pats...oh...and Bengals. Do what Billick couldn't....give the fans at least a top 10 offense. Don't mess with success.

Great Super Bowl. Rodgers and the Pack had a great season

Packers in position to win. Time for the Refs to take over.

    Super Bowl

I hope Flacco and Cam are watching this. The Steeled secondary sucks and the intermediate passing game destroys them.

    Super Bowl

Don't let them back in the game.
  14. Fuck the fan. Get their money. Same for the players....go 18 games.

    JORDIE FUCKING NELSON!!!
  18. I support Art Model's model for building a team through the draft and signing Free Agents selectively. This team needs to get younger and faster. I've given up on Kindle but not Cody. Dickson is starting material and Pita will be a contributer. Ozzie has missed on drafting corners and receivers. He finally got the QB.
  19. Anchor Man! Copper flows North! DO NOT PICK UP THE PENNY!
  20. That the whole team and coaching staff get what Ray Lewis has inside him.
  21. I've always felt that there were too many mouths in the QB's ear. That alone has to screw up communication. It's just a coaching/management change. No big deal. Cam's on the hot seat but he didn't turn the ball over to the Steelers The Ravens were doing fine until that happened.
  22. I say get younger at this position. Fresher legs, more power, speed...neither Willie nor McClain has a burst or 2nd gear left. The Ravens have a serious #1weapon in Rice so they can afford to draft some young studs in the middle rounds to develop, back up, and spell Ray. Got to get younger.
  23. I saw that! I polnted it out to my son. I said "Look at Broadway Schmo!"" Eewww!
  24. You better hurry before American business gobbles them up into low paying jobs and strips them of the few possesions they acquire.
  25. After Steve's comment about Ravens QB's since '96 I'm in no hurry to try and run Joe out of town, bench him, rotate him or create any QB controversy. He doesn't suck. The Ravens are winning a ton of games with him. Joe's shortcomings are not fatal. He needs a line and a run game. He needs to improve on the holes of his game as pointed out by many here.
