  1. It's an Act of God. He's gracing us with a short opportunity to clearly identify the Feeble Minded of the Earth.

  3. I think this is the most the Ravens have ever paid a kicker. Special Teams is a big part of this teams winning formula. Pin them deep...force teams into long drives to score points. Koch is next. Then bring in some vet ST specialists like they did in 99 and 2000.
  4. Well...unlike others here....I cannot tell a lie. I will be watching both games. You mean you want to miss Hikes Wart and Rthsslsxxxbrrrgrrr hoisting the AFC champio.ship trophy? Or Red saying the Gets are the greatest team ever? How about the slob fest the media will have proclaiming Tomlin the greatest coach since Lombardi? We might even be treated to constant reminders of the Ravens second half meltdown. Oh man...I'm not missing this. Are you with me BallT? Maybe we get lucky and Dan Dierdork calls the game.
  5. The Ravens organization isn't lucky. They're damn good. And deep in talent. Chuck is perfect for this team and he's hungry. Ravens Defense is back. Swarming, agressive and back in the top 5. I'm so happy they didn't look anywhere else.
  6. Just heard Matty took the job at Michigan. Pagano is the new DC.
  7. "For a fee, I'll keep an eye on Plexiglass."
  8. 31 teams will fall short of hoisting the Lombardi this year. Are they all failures with flawed ownership? Should you blow up the Falcons because they can't win a playoff game? Should Payton be fired because the 7-9 Seahawks took his Super Bowl team behind the woodshed and knocked them right out of the dance? Shit...the Colts crashed big time. Fire Polian for not have a deep enough roster. Another year and the Pats are 1 and done....two years in a row now... Get rid of Belichek...or Brady. They are flawed. No...it's just a very short, hard, sudden end when you lose in the playoffs. It's what makes it special...and very special just to be there. The Ravens and the Colts are the only teams to make the playoffs each year for the last 3 years. Bisciotti is doing something right.
  9. The rumors are starting...this came out of left field for me... Then there's the Plexiglass rumor...some reporter brought his name up and Harbaugh gave the bland reply that they would be interested in anybody who would upgrade the team... So...it looks like the reporting on the Ravens will be that they want Burress, Moss and T.O....though I seriously doubt it.....but that's the media.
  10. Nice, well thought out thread cleetz. McClain just talked himself off the Ravens roster from what I hear. That's one gone. Early rumors have it the Harbaugh gets a raise and contract extension with Cam and Matty coming back. TJ wants to stay. Derrick wants to go for another year. I agree with all your points...especially depth and getting more speed at WR. The receiver thing is a concern because when's the last time the Ravens drafted a good one? Never a #1 WR. Never. Stokeley was very good but he could never stay healthy. Clayton was ok. Yea...the Ravens have to upgrade on Landry and get some serious safety help with Ed Reeds situation. They need linebackers and yes...that corner that you speak about.
  11. Forgot to answer your question crav. We've been through this before...it's not fun, but it's part of the game and it's only a game. You know the drill...we have this board to vent on...we have Terps basketball to get all upset about...March Maddness...the Derby...a lot of posters here are into the Orioles....move on...move on... On the age thing...sometime during a Ravens game in the last 3 weeks I said to my son "Why am I doing this too myself? I'm too old for this!" I wouldn't have it any other way. It's good to get excited and worked up. Obsession? FAN-atic...that's us. Face it...we love our football. I'm grateful to have a non-serious outlet/escape with all the daily chores, duties and responsibilities. Otherwise everyday, all day, would be serious stuff. Everybody needs a healthy escape. It's only a game....not our life, but it's something I enjoy. It's entertainment. None of our lives or our happiness should hinge on how well the Ravens do. If it does then IMO it's a problem. "That's about as philosophical as I'll get. I do better spouting nonsense."
  12. I agree. That put most of the players on the line out of position so they weren't playing to their strengths. Looking ahead...here's part of the puzzle...what pieces fit and stay? The Ravens are real vulnerable here. Teams will be lining up to raid the roster.
  13. I can't see it at this time. I need free agency, the draft, roster moves/changes, coaching changes...I need to have more info to see which way the wind will blow. Now...Ozzie sees it all. I trust him. Remember the roster purge of 2002? Only Ray and McAlister were left on that D. McCrary was too injured to be a factor. The team rebounded in 1 year with all kinds of garbage at QB. The Brain Trust...and that is all that matters and is significant...can keep this train on the track. Past history and performance by the Front Office gives me hope....but there is a lot of work and changes to do because there are key players getting older and more injury prone...there is a clock ticking "saying get young now" Solidify the lines and no matter what you are competitive every game. Might not make the playoffs next year. This team may not respond.
  14. The Jets win is just a pound of salt in the wound of the Ravens mega blown opportunity. I'm so shell shocked it doesn't matter. I surrender. We could have been waking up to the AFC Championship being played here in Baltimore. Think about that opportunity. IMO...the next 3-4 years depends on how the Ravens respond to this. They could tank for a few years with they players they will be losing. The coaching staff could lose this team. Shit like this happens.
  15. No...not a bunker. How does he afford these vacation trips to the Bahamas? The Steelers pay him handsomely to post that and invoke the curse. It's permanent and irrevocable.
  16. Mirror image in games. Packers score 21 unanswered points...go into half up by 14...just like the Ravens. Open second half? Rodgers is throwing, completing passes...they are running and guess what? They just scored a TD. Now they are up by 21...crowd has the 10,000 yard stare...silent... That's the opportunity the Ravens blew. If they could have scored the first points of the second half....the crowd, energy and Steeler momentum would have been gone for the day.
  17. How'd he slip that in?! KILL HIM!!!!!!!!!
  18. I'm seriously considering what you say here and have posted about Joe this year. I mean...identify the flaw in his game...what he just cannot do...and work around that. Maybe Cam is. Cam is not an idiot. He's a brilliant OC and a very good man. I really like him. He has character and guts.
  19. I can't get over this. How do you get in a fight and not throw a punch?
  20. I wish I knew Dee. Is it the same simple routes over and over again so teams can easily prepare for it? Today, on Heaps TD, was the first time I saw a pic...totally new for this offense and the result? TD. Rodgers receivers run inside, out, cross the middle ...AND....he avoids hitting the easy short checkdown to instead, pass to the open guy 10 yards deeper. I saw Bouldin open deeper but Joe threw to Rice....the sure easy completion... but hitting Bouldin would have hurt the Steelers.
  21. How do you get away with it? The answer is...the victim must wear a Ravens uniform. Just like last week as the ref stood there and watched a Chief player struggle for 5 minutes to rip Heaps helmet off....no flag.
  22. Right cleetz...I was going to say Joe just takes too long to make a decision and throw the ball. I'm watching Rodgers and Ryan here and those guys get it out fast. Sad to say...Joe can't/doesn't do that. He should have picked that secondary apart today IMO.
  23. Next? Lick our wounds...take time off...get away...then they'll inventory everything and everybody internally. If there is a coach on the hot seat then we might see a quick yank before other teams can get the guy the Ravens want. That would be the only sudden move. They'll take plenty of time on the players....still don't know if there will be a season next year. That effects free agency. 4 months till the draft...way too early to go there.
  24. I hear you Spen. That's true. I have to believe that with Flacco, Rice, Heap, Bouldin, TJ, Mason ect, that quite a few OC's would have got better production and execution out of that group than Cam did this year. He never could get them to take that next step.
  25. You mean Cam fell on his sword after the game?
