Orioles are playing great baseball. The defense is bulletproof. It took us a whole season last year to get our defense straight. This year we will have a full season of solid defense, baring injury. I think that will go a long way in stopping potential losing streaks. The starting pitching still worries me a little bit, but Hammel, Chen, Gonzo, and Tillman seem to have our 1-4 locked up. If we could just get one more guy to be consistent I think we would be set.

We could probably use another bat as well. As it is, we do not have a DH that can hit RHP. Pierce crushes LHP, but RHP is giving our DH spot a lot of trouble. Another well rounded bat would be nice. The Cuban player we signed, Henry Urrutia is a 26-year old 1B/OF that is currently crushing the ball at AA Bowie in his first ever minor league season (.339/.403/.589/.993 2 HR 15 RBI in 14 G). Maybe this guy can give us some hitting depth later in the season.

Nice Mothers Day win. 6-0.

I love May in Maryland. O's baseball, lacrosse, and the Preakness coming up.

Really. These football game scores and 9th inning blown leads make the old Don Stanhouse days seem like a walk in the park. Buck and Co need to put the wheels back on the cart, quick.

We cant expect the O to put up 12-15 runs every game, though that's how it's looking now.

They will bounce back. It's still early in the season.

Their favorite team to get healthy against is in town....the Stankies!

Look...they're great...

The slumping Orioles have lost five in a row, but on Monday, they came away with a win off the diamond.

The Orioles have the best uniforms in the major leagues, according to a recent fan poll conducted by ESPN.

OK...the bump in the road is over.

Moments after they beat the Yankees 3-2 in 10 innings on Nate McLouth’s walk-off home run, news broke that the team was calling up pitching prospect Kevin Gausman from Double-A Bowie to make his major league debut Thursday in Toronto.

A win tonight would be huge....Hammel on the mound.

Yardwork!

Davis hits his 15th home run....3-0 O's up. Gausman pitching good so far....just 1 walk in 3 innings.

Well...I spoke to soon on Gausman....3-3....runners on 1st and 3rd...no outs.

You could say he's "being tested". :fishin:

It's official - Jim Johnson is blowing this season for the Os . He was a beast last year but is killing us this year. How many more BS are we going to have to watch before Buck makes a change or gives Johnson a month off ?

Posted

How do you give a player a month off?

How do you "fix" a guy without letting him pitch?

How are four games "this season?" What about the multiple games blown by errors or leaving men on base or starters who only go 4 or 5 innings?

Posted

I am joking of course but Johnson's performance doesn't bode well. Even though its still early, these blown leads are starting to take their toll.

Buck and Co need to figure this out...quick 👍
