vmax
Which guy would you want to be the face of your team? Him? or him? Joe Flacco’s unwritten rules for taking beach pictures with fans1. Stand facing the sun so squints are at an all-time high.2. I’m cool doing this shirtless, but understand that there’s going to be no contact if we go down that road.3. One of us must be wearing a seersucker bathing suit. And since I’m already in one, we’ve got it covered.4. I’ll smile, but I can’t promise it won’t be goofy as can be.5. Both parties must — MUST — put their arms behind their backs and lock wrists in unison. This is non-negotiable.http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/07/joe-flacco-beach-photo/ Joe went downy ocean hon! cravnravn
The 1st guy that 2 years ago got Tebowed, and last year wasted a #1 D ranking and failed to get his team in the playoffs??? OK then
thesteelhurtin
The 1st guy that 2 years ago got Tebowed, and last year wasted a #1 D ranking and failed to get his team in the playoffs??? OK thenPre injury the Steelers were rolling he was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks it's more on tomlin letting him comeback early then anything. How is your RB your leading pass catcher and you have that horrible of a completion percentage.
cravnravn
Caus its a team sport, and stats are for fantasy players.. Edited July 9, 2013 by cravnravn
thesteelhurtin
Caus its a team sport, and stats are for fantasy players..Still in most cases the RB is within ten yards of the qb. I'm not saying flacco is bad but his accuracy is average at best. That's one of those stats that count ya know. I don't really care about yards or tds or really even ints those are all stats easily influenced by other factors. Now completion percentage can as well but not as much

thesteelhurtin
So your saying Romo is better then Ben and Brady?Lord no like I said Joe is a good qb and has the it factor. Flacco has a huge arm as well. There is a lot to like about him but accuracy is not one of those things.
thesteelhurtin
Just to be fair here Ben holds onto the ball way too long and has too Mich of a gunslinger mentality and throws some stupid passes at times.

thesteelhurtin
Laughable. All abs have their faults and accuracy is one of flaccos. He throws a nice deep ball but inside 20 yards he seems to over throw or under throw the receiver.
vmax
Accuracy is not one of Flacco's faults.Consistency is.He gets on hot and cold streaks. When he's hot he makes every throw on a dime. Then he'll disappear for a quarter or so, but if you watch the coaches tape, his receivers are not getting open and the line is not giving him time. What Joe does very well is when his line and receivers are struggling, he does not force things and make the costly turnovers. He's more like "we'll live to fight another day, but I'm not going to take a chance and give them the ball on the 40." Funny thing happened last year.Once he got a new OC in Caldwell and the line performed better, he tied Montana for the best playoff performance in NFL history. You have to be accurate to do that. There is a lot to like about him but accuracy is not one of those things. Joe is not a good QB, he is an elite one, his MVP Trophy, his contract back that claim up.Belittle him all you want, but no other QB in the history of the league has accomplished what Joe Flacco has accomplished so far

Jamarcus Russell had a huge contract was he elite? How about McNabb or Vick? Albert Haynesworth must be the best dlinemen ever because he had the biggest contract. Great he has a super bowl mvp trophy so does Larry Allen a average at best corner. I sure don't consider Holmes an elite WR. Ok when Ben was piling up wins in the regular and post season it was a team stat now that Joe is doing it its a personal stat? I remember many battles with you on the soon to be dead espn board over that. If we are taking team stats into account Ben still destroys Joe when it comes to awards and achievements.
colincac
Yeah lets please not call Flacco elite because we paid him like he is. He has not proven to be near-elite yet on a consistent basis. If he plays the next year like he played in last years' playoffs the debate is settled. But as of now he maybe cracks the top 10.
cravnravn
Russel got a huge contract for being the number one overall pick, heyward bey got one too, look at the organizations that always overpay Oakland and the redskids with haynesworth Joe earned his contract as well as the elite title

vmax
Who cares if he's Elite? The Elite QB's watched Joe in the playoffs do what they couldn't last year (and what they have never done). You can have them! I've never seen a QB have a run like that because I didn't follow Montana. He was spectacular. On the big stage! What more could a football fan ask for than what Joe and the Ravens (yes! you win as a team) have done since they drafted him. These years have been a fans dream. Always competitive...always in the playoffs...no '1 and done's'....January football....with the Ravens!
