papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 Why is that? Until he can string a season together like he played in the post season then I think it is quite apropriate. I do think Cam held him back. The question is how much and now he needs to prove to be past that and he will jump up. Quote
vmax Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I'd rather have Joe Flacco than Atkins, Revis, Ryan, Ware, Green, Smith, Rthsslxxssbrrrgrrr and a bunch more. You can win a SB without those players on your team (Steelers can't win one anyway)....but with Joe you have a good chance to get to the playoffs and win. Let's show these experts how we really feel about their rankings! Quote
papasmurfbell Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 Ben has proven to win SB's bith an * of course. Take away certain talent around Joe and he wont make the playoffs. It is the ultimate team sport so evaluation of a single player is difficult. Quote
colincac Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Joe Flacco is in no shape or form the 22nd best player in the NFL right now. That way overrates his talent if anything, quit being a homer guys. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Joe is underrated at 22, especially if you look at where they have Peyton Manning and Ryan. Give me Joe ahead of both of those QB's. I'd put Joe in the mid teens. Haloti Ngata is overrated...he should not be that high on the list. Quote

Our defense went from #3 in 2011, to most of the season in the mid 20's then settled at #17..That right there is enough to force a collapse of a team. the offense carried the team, Joe, Ray,Q, Torrey, Pitta etal all had big plays last season, and it carried the team. RavenMad Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Joe at 22 seems about right. The Joe we saw in the playoffs and basically since Caldwell took over the O should be top 10.The Joe we saw earlier in the season with Cam would be lucky to be in the top 100. So 22 doesn't seem too far off when looking at the full body of work for the season. Now if Joe carries over his post season performance then he will me the league MVP and should be rated #1. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 That top 100 is a projection for 2013, if it was for 2012 and they didnt have Ray Lewis in the top 100, heads would roll. Quote
RavenMad Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 That top 100 is a projection for 2013, if it was for 2012 and they didnt have Ray Lewis in the top 100, heads would roll. But past performance is at least part of the formula for projecting future performance. The media is still trying to decide which Joe will showup. The one that sleep walks through some football games or the one that put up one of the greatest post season performances by a QB in the history of the NFL. Therefore, 22 is about right. Ray Lewis wasn't a top 100 player last season. He couldn't cover his shadow and was a shell of his former self. He was only out there for his knowledge of the D and his leadership. He knew he was done and retired before he forced the Ravens to make a decision. That said, he is still the greatest Raven of all time. Quote

Did you see the say Philthy game or Houston just to name a few. Joe fr the majority of the season was bi-poler in his play last yr. Quote
