papasmurfbell
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/30/john-harbaugh-ed-dickson-isnt-the-same-player-he-was-two-years-ago/ John Harbaugh: Ed Dickson isn’t the same player he was two years agoOne of the players that the Ravens are counting on to help them weather the loss of tight end Dennis Pitta is tight end Ed Dickson, but Dickson hasn’t come through in the first four games of the season.Dickson has started all four games, but has just three catches for 25 yards. He’s dropped a lot of passes, though, including one that went off his hands and into those of Bills safety Jim Leonhard for one of Joe Flacco’s five interceptions in Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Bills. The Ravens were hoping to get a player closer to the one that caught 54 passes for 528 yards and five touchdowns in 2011, but coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he doesn’t see the same things from Dickson on the field anymore.“The stats kind of speak for themselves as you’re alluding to. He’s not the same player right now than he was then obviously,” Harbaugh said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “Ed just needs to go catch the ball. Make it easy: Run fast, get open and catch the football, put it away and get upfield. That’s all he needs to do. And if he’s thinking about anything besides that, he’s doing himself a disservice. And if he’s lacking confidence for some reason, that’s on him. When you have that kind of talent, those kinds of gifts, go play ball, go show everybody what you’re capable of doing. That’s what I expect to see from Ed.”Dickson isn’t the only member of the Ravens offense making Harbaugh unhappy these days. The coach also ripped his offensive line as “disappointing” on Monday and there’s sure to be more where that came from if the defending Super Bowl champs continue to struggle to points on the scoreboard. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/30/john-harbaugh-ravens-entire-offensive-line-is-disappointing/ John Harbaugh: Ravens’ entire offensive line is disappointingRavens coach John Harbaugh is not happy with his offensive line.A day after a loss to the Bills in which Baltimore generated just 27 yards on the ground and saw quarterback Joe Flacco sacked four times, Harbaugh said he didn’t see much reason to be pleased about the guys up front.“The whole O-line is disappointing right now,” Harbaugh said. The Ravens’ offensive linemen totaled four penalties on Sunday: guard Kelechi Osemele was flagged once for a personal foul and once for being lined up illegally, guard Marshall Yanda was flagged for a false start and right tackle Michael Oher was called for holding. Harbaugh said that’s a problem, and he also said it has been a transition going from longtime veteran center Matt Birk making the line calls last year to first-year starter Gino Gradkowski making the calls.“It’s a difference between Gino and Matt with the calls,” Harbaugh said. And it’s a difference between the way the Ravens were playing in January and February and the way they’ve played in September. These Ravens don’t look like a Super Bowl team. For a change he is publically calling out players. People here in the past have said it would be a bad thing if Harbs called out players in the media. oldno82
He might need to release some if things don't get better fast. The team doesn't look hungry. Or worried.

OutsideRzAcE
Oops...I double posted this. It's way past due with Dickson. I like the way he protects players and coaches for the most part, but Dickson doesn't deserve it anymore. Harbs needs to turn the pressure up. vmax
Finally?Like this is the first time he's answered truthfully when asked by a reporter to comment on a certain player or unit? Like we are witnessing history? ALL HC's hide the truth. Just like you would if we were playing Texas Hold'm and you just went all in holding a pair of duce's.Like you would tell me your hand.Right. To answer your question....I'm cool with it because he didn't tell me anything that I and the rest of the NFL doesn't know.
papasmurfbell
He protects them way to much.

Tornado700
I'm all for this. I hope that he ripped them all a new one in the locker room and practice field. This might be why the Ravens seldom lose back to back.
