cravnravn Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 The discussion about the Ravens offense this season has revolved around almost everything except the quarterback. Pro Bowler Ray Rice has battled an injury and not been effective. The wide receivers have dealt with a handful of injuries. The offensive line has struggled. Bryant McKinnie is in Miami and Eugene Monroe has taken over at left tackle. Tight end Dennis Pitta has missed the entire season with a hip injury. Amidst all the change and growing pains, the one constant has been quarterback Joe Flacco. So how has the reigning Super Bowl MVP performed so far this year? http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/How-Is-Joe-Flacco-Playing/9c621208-ad1e-4db5-a8d2-4e2d0ca0b193
RavenMad Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 IMO he is doing a great job with how banged up the O-Line is and how poorly they are performing. Couple that with no running game to speak of, it's amazing his numbers are as good as they are except of course for the INTs.
Robjr83 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think he's been ok being what he has to work with. Brady has been struggling too with similar problems.
varaven45 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Joe is just fine and is playing just the way we expected. With a zero O line, no running game, weak TE play and 1 legit WR, Joe's accomplishments are extraordinary this year.
Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I'm flabbergasted at the excuses you groupies are providing, at second thought no i'm not, thats your job, Comparing Joe to Brady is a joke, Brady 6-2 Joe 3-4 nuff said. Joe is the only high priced qb that is under .500 right now and Romo is .500 but he's putting the points up , his defense just can't stop anyone. with the exception of the denver 2nd half the defense has performed more than admirably especially with so many new players. so who's fault is it that we are 3-4 and starting slow every game, it's on Joe. he's the QB, he's making the money , he shoulders the blame , it's not even a conversation.

Wrong as usual. Matt Ryan is 2-5. Ben is 2-5. Eli is 2-6. The defense played poorly against Pittsburgh. Carry on with your nonsense... 1
Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 you're right , i'm wrong, Joe is not the ONLY high priced QB under .500 , he is THE HIGHEST paid QB under .500 , my bad , thanks for correcting me.

Carry on with your nonsense...Funny how you can point out the faults of a defense that was rebuilt and say nothing about an offense that lost 2 players, Birk and Boldin, with Boldin being a player that all you groupies are saying wasn't needed anyway. So why is the offense playing so poorly with basically the same players? answer: Flacco
deeshopper Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Eugene Moore. Marlene Brown. Dallas Clark. Ricky Wagner. AQ Shipley. All new offensive players.Gino Gradkowski didn't start any games last year, but I guess technically he's one of the "same players". It's a little disingenuous to say the offense only lost two players, don't you think?
Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 they only lost two starters, and the only reason i brought that up is because groupies are quick to blame the OC , just like last year, injuries , which every team has to deal with, the defense , which is rebuilt , they blame everyone except the 2nd highest paid player in the league. Flacco makes more money than every player in the league and never gets any of the blame when we lose, thats incredulous to me, thats whats a little disingenuous to me.
RavenMad Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Geronimo has obviously been drinking too much of the Haterade.

I think Flacco has gotten plenty of criticism here in the past. I think Boller had more support than Flacco before the super bowl.

Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 as of today, it's everyone on this teams fault except Flacco, it's castillo, it's harbaugh, it's the o-line, it's caldwell, it's the defense , it's Ozzie ,what about the 2nd highest paid player in the league, what about the QB, the QB shoulders the responsibility for every team in the league except round here
Money Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Funny how you can point out the faults of a defense that was rebuilt and say nothing about an offense that lost 2 players, Birk and Boldin, with Boldin being a player that all you groupies are saying wasn't needed anyway. So why is the offense playing so poorly with basically the same players? answer: Flacco There are 46 players that have enough carries to qualify for the YPC rankings. Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce are ranked #'s 45 and 46. You can blame it on the RBs or you can blame it on the OL (and both claims would be correct), but you cannot blame it on Flacco. The Ravens offense scored on 4 of their 7 drives, while averaging only 3.2 ypc (which is actually an improvement). The defense allowed Pittsburgh to score on all but 2 of their drives and allowed them to rush for 4.9 ypc. Somehow you look at all of this and come up with Flacco being the one to blame. It's moronic.

When a team loses the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball, they will struggle to win games. If you want to bash someone who is not playing up to their contract, look no further than Haloti Ngata.

I already stated that you groupies blame everyone but Flacco and you go and do it again as if what you're saying hasn't been said already. I know, it's everyone else's fault but Flacco, i got it. Who is the only player on the team that carries around a win-loss record? answer: Flacco , but when it comes to why are we 3-4, it's everyone but Flacco.

It didn't realize you thought the OL and interior DL was "everyone else". Sometimes I simply give you too much credit when it comes to football knowledge. BTW...all of us get it. You hate Flacco. Move along now... 1
Tornado700 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Joe has done exceptionally well with what he has. Period.
Robjr83 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I'm flabbergasted at the excuses you groupies are providing, at second thought no i'm not, thats your job, Comparing Joe to Brady is a joke, Brady 6-2 Joe 3-4 nuff said. Money Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Only high priced QB under .500? How about Matty Melt and Eli? Accuracy of posts is not RastaMax's #1 priority. He doesn't let that get in the way of his agenda.
Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Only high priced QB under .500? How about Matty Melt and Eli? I forgot to add Worthlisberger in there too.I stand corrected, as i said earlier, Joe is not the only high priced QB under .500, he is the HIGHEST paid QB under .500, but that doesn't mean anything, now does it groupie?
Robjr83 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 "Brady 6-2 Joe 3-4 nuff said" So you're saying winning is the only thing that matters?
Geronimo Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 My bad. It didn't realize you thought the OL and interior DL was "everyone else". Sometimes I simply give you too much credit when it comes to football knowledge. BTW...all of us get it. You hate Flacco. Move along now...I don't hate Flacco, i expect more from him with the money he is making, and i see i'm the only one on here that has high expectations for him. Haloti Ngata is eating up two blockers most of the time and you expect more, i get it. Flacco has us playing from behind in the last 5 games and he's the QB , the guy with the ball in his hands every offensive play, the guy responsible for our point production, the guy with the 2nd highest contract in the league and not one of you says a word about needing him to be better. if you weren't so busy being a groupie and looked at it from the POV of a non-groupie you would understand he's not living up to his contract and we need more from him.
