cravnravn Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 How big is it to get him signed? Don't think he should hit the market, if he does he's gone. Denver is in need of mlb help, a d he did 'll a y for Del Rio before. Quote
Robjr83 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If Smith is smart he'll hit FA, he outplayed his contract last year and I'm hearing several teams are interested in him. I'd like to see him back but we'll have to see if Brown will step up. A 2nd round pick in his 2nd year should be starter material. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 He played for dirt cheap last yr. If I am him I find out my value. I expect him to. I don't think the Ravens willbe able to afford him. Quote

vmax Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 He's not saying anything, but the impression I get is that he wants fair market value. My bet is that the Ravens will sign him....LB is not a position of strength on this team. Quote

I don't think the Ravens willbe able to afford him. They will if they don't break the bank for Monroe, who I don't think is worth 10 mil a yr.....Maybe it's just me but I thought DS was far more productive for us than Monroe, I was not overly impressed with him.....Especially when I watched him get ran over and Joe get sacked on numerous occassions......Yea, I'm back.....Had to see who missed the Oldroid....lol Quote

Money seems to think he's going to get 10+ a yr. I agree that he's going to get it but I don't think he's worth it either. But I see Money's point. I don't agree but I see what he means. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 It isn't just right player. It is also right price. Quote
vmax Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 You need brains on defense. He's the only brain. Lose him and who leads and sets the D? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 You find a new brain. It is the same thing people said when Ray was oing to be gone. Quote
Oldschool739 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 You find a new brain. It is the same thing people said when Ray was oing to be gone. That's a whole lot easier said than done.....I agree that they are out there, it's finding them that is the hard part....DS is a very good one, Ray was one of a handful all time..... RavenousBG Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 DS is the right guy. He gives us time to draft one or find a younger option over the next 2 or 3 yrs if we keep him. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 He could also fall threw the planet this yr. The whole question is how much will it take to get him. Quote
RavenousBG Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 It isn't just right player. It is also right price.Same thing I've been saying about Monroe. I agree. Daryl Smith is the right guy but it has to be at a reasonable price. He's 31-32 yr old so he's a short term answer Quote
