oldno82 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I think we could get this guy cheap and he'd be a real asset. I hope we're going after him: Via Ravens website: "Blount A Good Fit For Ravens Backfield? The Ravens are on the record. They want more depth at running back. So it’s not a question of if they will add another back to the mix, it’s simply who? The Ravens could use the NFL Draft to bulk up at the position, as they could get very good value in mid rounds. But if they look to free agency, ESPN’s Jamison Hensley likes the idea of pursuing LeGarrette Blount. Blount helped carry the New England Patriots offense late last season as the passing game faded. He finished the year with 722 rushing yards. “The best fit for the Ravens in free agency is LeGarrette Blount,” Hensley wrote. “He is the bruising big back that the Ravens have lacked in their ground game for years. Blount is not an electric runner. He's 247 pounds, and he has pedestrian speed for an NFL running back (he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds). Why the Ravens should look at Blount is his running style. He does most of his damage in between the tackles, unlike Pierce, who has a habit of bouncing too quickly to the outside.” Quote
Oldschool739 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 He's visiting the Steelers.I thought they were signing MJD ? Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 That's what I thought too, but is it official? Quote
Oldschool739 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 That's what I thought too, but is it official? Not if Blount is going there.. UPDATE: After visiting the Steelers on Wednesday, Jones-Drew will return to the team's facility Thursday, NFL Media's Albert Breer reported, per a team source. Quote
Oldschool739 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 You were right Grub, still up in the air... Posted March 21, 2014 2014 NFL free agency: LeGarrette Blount to visit Pittsburgh SteelersNFL Free Agency, Pittsburgh SteelersThe Pittsburgh Steelers flirted with veteran running back Maurice Jones-Drew during a two-day visit earlier this week but Jones-Drew ultimately left the Steel City without a contract. Now, rather than showing interest in a running back on the decline, the Steelers are expected to visit with one who is coming off his most productive NFL season.According to the National Football Post, the Steelers will be meeting with New England Patriots free agent LeGarrette Blount on Sunday night Quote
oldno82 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 We have more cap space than Pitt does. But I don't know if Oz is interested or waiting for the price to drop. Quote
RavenousBG Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Blount is alright. I wouldn't wAnt the steelers to get him but the steelers aren't smash mouth anymore and frankly, neither are we. I think we have the personnel to be that way and I'd welcome it back. Harbs is talking about being physical but I don't know. Quote
varaven45 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I'd welcome back smashmouth running attack. Haven't had a hammer since Jamal Lewis. Really like the kid from BC - Andre Williams - I believe is his name. Quote

thesteelhurtin Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 MJD is looking for 3.5 million the steelers said no. I hope Blount doesn't leave Pittsburgh on Sunday. Bell and him would make a pretty good team. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Fix the line and it won't matter who we plug in the backfield. Also, ironically if we don't fix the line and it also won't matter who we plug in the backfield. Quote

LolLmao let me know when Baltimore comes in the top ten for something other then crack, crime, and ugly people. Pittsburgh is a great city and they did what nobody else is the rust belt has been able to do and that is to change what they are known for. Pittsburgh all about technology and robotics now not to mention there efforts of going green. So u will stick with the city with the lowest crime rate, best city for kids, safest city for kids, best place to raise a family, most livable city, and all the other awards pgh has won. Not to mention the casinos. Nice try crave Quote
