Geronimo
It's time to turn our backs on Pitta, He has a bum hip that he'll never recover from. Daniels, Gilmore and Juice can hold it down this year, but we should be in the market for a TE next year. I don't know the cap ramifications but as soon as it's possible to cut Pitta without dead money , then you cut him.

papasmurfbell
He is done. They will have to give him an injury settlement.
Geronimo
Guarantee some kind of injury settlement is being worked on now.I sure hope so, i wish the kid the best but this is a business, the sooner we move on from Pitta the better, no sense in dragging this thing out with hoping and wishing he recovers. papasmurfbell
I think TE is the #1 need now for the draft.

papasmurfbell
Juice also has FB duties. The Ravens need a dedicated good TE.
Geronimo
I have been wanting to see Juice lined up in the slot, maybe Juice does get more on his plate, i know in college he was lined up all over the place. he might can handle it
papasmurfbell
He is more than smart enough. I think he is pretty athletic. There is so much you can do with him being shifted all over the field on plays. Kubs can really create chaos on D moving him around.
varaven45
sooner or later we'll draft some offensive players high, TE or WR, if we lose Torrey We needed to have drafted a solid WR and TE in this year's draft. This need has only intensified with the loss of Pitta and uncertainties with Torrey (although I think we find a way to sign him).Steve Smith is 35 and we will need another possession WR as well. I expect next year's FA and draft to largely focus on WR, TE, S and CB.
papasmurfbell
Torrey is taking money out of his pocket.
colincac
No idea if they are working on an injury settlement or what the cap ramifications of that would be, but we are in position to cut him. The dead money is HUGE http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/dennis-pitta/_1/
papasmurfbell
They don't have to do anything until th eoff season. They will just IR him now.
thundercleetz
Also have to think Marlon Brown figures into the equation heavily as a possession, slot receiver.
Robjr83
Sad to think Heap was the more durable TE
papasmurfbell
How often does that injury happen? He must have been hit just the right way. Like Bo Jackson it is very rare and says less about their durability and more about luck.
papasmurfbell
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/22/ravens-confirm-dennis-pitta-will-miss-the-rest-of-the-season/ Ravens confirm Dennis Pitta will miss the rest of the seasonDennis Pitta’s season is over.Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed today that Pitta, the tight end who suffered a dislocated right hip on Sunday, had surgery today and will miss the rest of the season. This is the second time in the last 14 months that Pitta has suffered a dislocated right hip. He suffered the injury last year in training camp and missed the first 12 games of the season.Heading into this season, the Ravens thought Pitta was going to be healthy and ready for a big year, and he caught 10 passes in Week One. Now his season is over after Week Three, and he’s left to wonder if his hip is ever going to be healthy enough to withstand an NFL season.
