vmax
Marvin Lewis' scary playoff recordYou'll probably hear the commentators mention this during the broadcast, and I usually like to provide "outside the box" stats, but this is too striking to ignore. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, who's been in charge since 2003, has a career playoff record of 0-5. That includes an 0-3 record at home.Marvin Lewis' Playoff RecordDate Location Winner Score1/8/2006 Cincinnati Steelers 31-171/9/2010 Cincinnati Jets 24-141/7/2012 Houston Texans 31-101/5/2013 Houston Texans 19-131/5/2014 Cincinnati Chargers 27-10Average Score 26.4-12.8The Bengals haven't even scored more than two touchdowns since the playoff loss to the Steelers in 2006. If Cincinnati loses this game, Lewis will tie Jim Mora as the only NFL coach to lose his first six postseason appearances as a head coach.Every other coach in the AFC playoff bracket has at least one playoff win, and everyone besides Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has at least five postseason victories.http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24923538/bengals-colts-preview-five-stats-to-know-about-the-wild-card-matchup

vmax
For Cincinnati (10-6-1), the postseason misery continued: It became the first team in NFL history to lose four consecutive opening-round playoff games. Andy Dalton finished went 18 of 35 for 151 yards and lost a fumble as he fell to 0-4 in the playoffs............Here we are yet again, writing the same story as last January. It's the story that has become a major part of the Bengals' identity. The team that won 10 games and tied another in the regular season simply didn't show up Sunday. And we probably shouldn't be surprised. The team that took the field in what proved to be its finale mirrored the one that has been to six playoffs under coach Marvin Lewis ... and lost in the first round of each one. Most coaches who went through a similar stretch probably face job insecurity. Actually, scratch that. Most coaches wouldn't last long enough to go through a playoff stretch like Lewis'. They'd have been long gone before getting to this point.http://espn.go.com/blog/cincinnati-bengals/ Bengals gave a very uninspired effort. Weak...very weak. Groundhog day. 52isUnstoppable
Bengals gave a very uninspired effort. Weak...very weak. Groundhog day. I take so much pleasure in watching them choke. They continue to be the little brothers of this division.
