I have to co-sign what papa said. No way we take a RB in the first round. On top of that this team is built to win a Super Bowl now, and we cannot afford to take a risk on a recovering player like Gurley. We could find a serviceable back for us later in the draft.

Not a chance. I don't see a RB going before the 3rd and the way the Ravens draft they will not jump for that position.

Same here. I don't see a RB drafter until round 3 or later.

I am not sure they will get any comp picks this yr. SS and Daniels signed on. They lost Jones, Graham, Oher, and McClain.

Can't always depend on comp picks. Going into the draft. we'll need a many true picks as possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Campanero cost us 2 picks?

I believe he was a 2016 6th rounder for the 2014 7th rounder.

Agreed.

I am looking but can't find a definitive answer. They lost a few picks but also picked some up on McKinny and Rolondo.

I could be wrong but---- 26 (rd 1) 58 (rd 2) 126 (rd 4) 203 (rd 6) 229 (rd 7)

I would expect, if this is correct, for the team to seek quality over quantity this year and trade often.....

I can't even find out that much. Did you have a site for those pick numbers?

Who did we lose our 3rd rounder for?

Just deep digging. According to wiki- the Ravens have picks in rounds 1-4, & 6 (Denver's via Dallas), but none in rounds 5 or 7.... traded round five for Zuta, traded round six for Clev's 7th netting Camp, traded round 7 to Dallas for their 6th and McClain.

That seems more logical, if memory serves than my previous post.

Also this from Hensley, via ESPN back in December-

RAVENS 2015 draft picks

First round (one pick), second round (one pick), third round (one pick), fourth round (one pick), fifth round (no pick, traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers for center Jeremy Zuttah), sixth round (one, traded their own sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a 2014 seventh-rounder that they used to select wide receiver Michael Campanaro and acquired the Cowboys' sixth-rounder in McClain trade in exchange for a seventh-round pick) and seventh round (one, traded their seventh-round pick to Cowboys in McClain deal and acquired the Dolphins' seventh-rounder in the Bryant McKinnie trade).

So, the Ravens currently have six picks, but that number will likely increase. The Ravens are expected to receive three compensatory picks in 2015. They lost four significant unrestricted free agents in defensive end Arthur Jones (Indianapolis), offensive tackle Michael Oher (Tennessee), cornerback Corey Graham (Buffalo) and safety James Ihedigbo (Detroit) and signed one in safety Darian Stewart (St. Louis). Compensatory picks are announced at the NFL

So that means we have just 6 picks in this years' draft. We cannot afford looooooooong term projects ( Jah Reid ) or players who cannot suit up ( Campanero, Brown ). We need solid picks for the secondary, the LB corp, outside pass rusher, running back, and offensive line.

Hey thanks. Good stuff. Comp picks will help some to make up for the ones we traded.

It is at least 2 yrs to fix the roster. I said that a while back when we were looking at holes. You just can't find that many contributors with so few and late picks. That is why I believe in strategic trading of established players to amass a high volume of picks.

I just don't see that much in comp picks. The Ravens picked up FA's also and some pretty good ones. That will lower the recoup on what was lost.

Hensley explained it pretty well. Comp pick compilation is not a science but is largely based on the size of the contracts gained, vs lost. I expect he is correct in 3 being the number the Ravens get, now the question is, how high or low will they be....

Yeah I get that. I still with their was some kind of direct easy equation to seeing what you get. The Ravens FA pickups were quite successful on the field as oppsed to some of the people who left. I figue 3 picks but I am guessing they will be round 5 and later.
