Tuckers long range accurate field goals may prove critical in several games this year . Dang glad we have him !

Me too. Just like the old days. When the Ravens kicker heads on to the field, I can head to the bathroom. :gorave:

Stud: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Baltimore Ravens

This past season, rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan stepped in for a suspended Haloti Ngata down the stretch and made quite an impression for the Baltimore Ravens.

Now, the 2014 second-round pick from Florida State is making his presence felt in his second training camp with the club.

In 2014, Jernigan played in 12 games and totaled 23 tackles and four sacks. He wound up in the starting lineup for the final three regular-season contests and now takes over for Ngata, who was dealt to the Detroit Lions this offseason.

The Ravens endured perhaps the toughest practice of this year's camp. The three-hour workout included a lot of goal-line and short-yardage situations, and it focused on the running game.

To push his players through it, Harbaugh continually gave a verbal nudge and few went unscathed. He ripped into defensive players, a couple of assistants and even the practice referees.

Here are some of the Harbaugh highlights:

Harbaugh was not pleased with defensive end Brent Urban. "You can shake your head all you want No. 96. You have no idea what you're about to face this year."

The offense scoring touchdowns from the 2-yard line didn't please Harbaugh. "No Ravens defense that I can remember gets run over on the goal line. Are you [expletive] me?"

The practice officials weren't throwing their flags, which caught the attention of Harbaugh. "Get your [expletive] together, officials. You're getting lunch and you're getting paid." http://espn.go.com/b...ntense-practice

I wish that I could have been there to see it....

Pass rush firing: With Elvis Dumervil back to full health, the Ravens pass rush was monstrous Thursday. An offensive line missing starting guard Kelechi Osemele and, at times, right tackle Rick Wagner, couldn’t handle the outside speed in 11-on-11 drills. Terrell Suggs, Courtney Upshaw, and Dumervil all got pressure. Harbaugh was very happy with their performance.

Pointer picking off passes again: For the second straight day, reserve cornerback Quinton Pointer had a nice interception. This time, he dove under a tipped ball that quarterback Joe Flacco put behind wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. and made an athletic interception. Asa Jackson also had a solid day on that front, intercepting a pass in the one-on-one coverage drills and full-team. Cassius Vaughn also picked off Matt Schaub midway through practice.

Goal-line grappling: Short-yardage situational drills dominated the early portion of practice with the Ravens’ experienced defensive linemen showing well. Third-year defensive tackle Brandon Williams manhandled center Jeremy Zuttah oBall out, Bose: Even with all the interceptions, the practice player of the day was rookie inside linebacker Andrew Bose. Bose made several plays in the goal line package, and in a two-play sequence on third-and-short, stuffed running back Fitzgerald Toussaint for a loss, then got close to a sack on quarterback Bryn Renner. The Ravens love finding gems at inside linebacker, as last year’s surprise roster inclusion, Zachary Orr, can attest. Bose might be next in line.n the opening play of the drill, pushing him backward and bringing down running back Lorenzo Taliaferro with one arm. Reserve DeAngelo Tyson also had a pair of stuffs in the backfield when the second team came in.

The Butler did it: In a practice absolutely dominated by the defense, Joe Flacco provided one bright spot for the offense with a gorgeous deep touchdown pass to wide receiver Jeremy Butler. Pointer had pretty tight coverage on the play, but he was powerless to stop the completion.http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/bal-ravens-front-seven-dominates-fiery-training-camp-practice-20150806-story.html

That's the prob of it not being at Westminster. Ravens bone head move of the

Century.

HARBs would have been pissed if offense hadn' scored. Looks like Trestman's offense

has come as advertised.

Defense will be ready when the gun sounds.

WED PRACTICE NOTES:

Dooooooom returns as HARBs said he's good to go from an achilles injury.

Will Hill continues to impress.

Aiken impresses while gaining more reps with Perrimen down.

Urban uses his strength well.

Quote of the Day:

“You watch film, and there’s no reason why the guy shouldn’t have been in

the Pro Bowl last year.” – left tackle Eugene Monroe, talking about left guard

Kelechi Osemele.

THAT IS ALL.

At halfway mark, who's having a great camp. Some of my favorites, that's who like:

Flacco - great to outstanding camp with plenty of bombs to Perrimen before he was injured

but Aiken has caught some long ones too filling in.

Urban - Showing why Ravens were so disappointed a year ago when he was injured in camp

for the season. Uses his strength well.

Nick Boyle - mentioned above by Mikie Prestone who said fans will be surprised at this

Delaware guy. More toughness from him and he loves to start fights with Courtney Upshaw.

Zadarius Smith - Oz was upset when Squeelers drafted the coveted Dupree just before the

Ravens but Ozzie got Smith. He made Dupree go in college and is doing same here for

teammates by taking up blockers.

Urschel until his concussion. Been playing OG and Center and Ravens aren't afraid of

starting him at either position.

Taliaferro - having great camp is much faster and quicker after losing weight in off season.

Buck Allen - one of my favs in the draft. Some fans think he was drafted more for his catching

than running and he hasn't disappointed in camp.

Zach Orr - I've mentioned him before as undrafted free agent who is doing it on the field. He's

ahead of Ravens #2 draft pick Arthur Brown as he continues to rise up the depth chart.

Nick Perry - Ravens might have found someone to play the deep middle.

Article in Philly newspaper on Flacco:

Nearly 200 football players took the practice field at training camp yesterday. Flacco clearly was the best; the most polished; the biggest presence.

He didn't run the Ravens' offense; he commanded it. He made every throw: deep outs and deep posts, end-zone fades and soft crossing routes. Lots of those.

He threw effortlessly, his release quicker than you thought, his mechanics detailed and precise.

Waller is making a very strong case to not only make the team, but contribute this year:

Darren Waller

The Ravens sixth-round draft pick garnered a lot of attention during the three-day joint practice against the Eagles for making tough catches and seeing numerous targets with both the first- and second-team offenses. Waller has had his ups and downs since rookie minicamp, but has started putting it together throughout training camp. Unlike Breshad Perriman, hes on the practice field daily and using his reps wisely. His 6-6, 245-lb frame makes him a huge red zone target and he uses his size by boxing out cornerbacks to create separation. He also has shown he is a downfield threat as well, hauling in multiple long receptions.

His strong camp could possibly spell trouble for Marlon Brown.

Ah, I bet any amount of money Waller will be starting by week 4, maybe sooner.

He made a catch forced a lot of penalties on guys on those jump balls with his height.

Trestman is probably the guy who

begged Ozzie to draft him. So in first preseason game he plays and contributed when a lot of

guys have him on the practice squad.

But that first month is so grueling and Perriman is still out since first day of camp.

This team is wiped out....

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The first of two roster cutdowns are still eight days away.

But one look at the Ravens' practice field and one would think otherwise.

Thanks to a combination of the team's many injuries and a veterans' day off, only 57 players from the 90-man preseason roster were seen on the Under Armour Performance Center practice field for the Aug. 24 early-afternoon practice....The 57 players at practice -- which included only nine of the team's 17 offensive linemen -- is less than two-thirds of the roster, and only four players more than the league regular-season maximum of 53 allowable active-roster bodies.....In fact, of the team's 22 ostensible starters, only seven of them were spotted on the field, thought to be a record low for any practice. Those players were starting safeties Kendrick Lewis and Will Hill, inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, tackle Rick Wagner, tight end Crockett Gillmore and fullback Kyle Juszczyk....The offensive line has been the hardest hit, with starters Eugene Monroe (hand/wrist), Kelechi Osemele (Achilles) and Wagner having been hurt at one point or another..http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/08/24/injuries-vets-day-off-leaves-ravens-practice-field-relatively-bare
