vmax
and the defense is not happy because they gave up too many big plays.I agree with Weddle that they have to tighten things up.I hope Williams injury isn't too bad. Losing Davis really hurt and they need Williams to stay dominant. I'm happy though... ....it's highlight reel football. 3 sacks. 10 QB hits. They were Kiser's migraine. cravnravn
Concerned with our DB's they were burnt often, Webb made up for his lack of coverage with a pick in the endzone. Edited September 17, 2017 by cravnravn
tsylvester
Lots of broken coverage again, but at least they caught the passes thrown to them.
oldno82
Great game for a fan. Offense showed life and confidence. Joe was sharp. Watson was a standout. Suggs just keeps on keepin on. Agree that there were too many broken coverages but that should be fixable. Gutsy call by Harbaugh down near Browns' end zone on a fourth down. Good example of stepping on the throat of the opponent to keep them from coming back. Yeah, still things to work on. Good thing Macklin is OK---that was scary. Perriman droped 2 passes that I saw. If he can't make a positive contribution very soon they should let him go. I believe the secondary is better than what they showed. Maybe they took Cleveland's backup qb for granted. Very insightful. You hit all the marks. Just one other thing though. It was a hot bitch out there.

vmax
Watson is Joe's security blanket. It looks like the Ravens will be OK at tight end and this is huge in forcing teams to defend the middle and the whole field.Joe looked very good. He showed no signs of a back injury that could limit his effectiveness.Collins was a surprise. He ran hard like a man on a mission but he can't be fumbling. The D, which was great in turnovers does has some issues to fix.... With a rookie quarterback running the show most of the day, Cleveland ended with 20 first downs, 293 passing yards and 386 total yards, leaving the Ravens defenders upset at how things went down.....http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/The-Breakdown-Eisenbergs-Five-Thoughts-vs-Cleveland-Browns/f82d0c30-a6f3-4a72-976c-1608ef470f5d That was a wild final 2 minutes of the first half. Good show by Joe, Buck and Jeremy. the ravens have been doing well at getting points for some time in these final 2 minute periods.
vmax
Hey!They made history! RAVENS D MAKES HISTORY IN SUNDAY'S WINThe Ravens are the third team in the Super Bowl era to allow 10 or fewer points and have 10 or more takeaways in the first two games of the season. They're also just the sixth team since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978 to have at least five takeaways in each of its first two games. tsylvester
Take advantage of poor qb play all you can, as coach Herm says;"all you can do is play who is on your schedule." This Sunday should not be much different, sharpen those claws so when better qbs & offensive lines come calling, you are ready...

This Sunday should not be much different, sharpen those claws so when better qbs & offensive lines come calling, you are ready... Right on.They are in that rare zone where they can have their flaws exposed and still win games. This is stuff they can correct and improve on. They can tighten it up for the better QB's and offenses all while winning.Same holds true for the offense. They are shaking off the rust and learning how to play together. It's like they are having "the preseason they didn't have" to get ready for the better defenses. tsylvester
A lot of teams now need 3- 4 games of the regular season to gell. With all those practice rule changes, they have little choice. I suspect it won't be till week 6 when we know how good this defense and team are, by then they will be in the run or on the run..
vmax
Here's another important fact to consider... But here’s the rub: High turnover margins are notoriously unpredictable. So it’s possible that all these interceptions and fumble recoveries are giving us a slightly unrealistic view of how good this defense is.From the writers at Football Outsiders to researchers at Harvard, many curious souls have studied how much luck plays into a team’s ability to create turnovers. The consensus answer? Quite a lot. This in no way denigrates what Ravens defenders have done in the first two games. They’ve made some terrific individual plays at opportune moments. It’s just to say that if history is any guide, even an excellent defense can’t count on doing that every week....http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bs-sp-ravens-five-things-browns-0918-story.html All the more reason to have a sense of urgency to fix the communication and coverage break downs. I think they can. They gave up too many chunk plays. But they gave up 386 yards of total offense to Cleveland. The Browns had receptions of 35, 34, 49 and 24 yards and a run of 37. Too much........http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bs-sp-preston-column-0918-story.html Peas keeps trying to rush only 3-4 to get the QB pressure he needs, but this attempt is borderline successful. tsylvester
The offensive line is going to have their hands full Sunday (morning), this could be a 6-3 game.... Two games, that is all it has been. Sacks are not based on luck, so we need to see more of them for the D, less of them from the O. More Campy out of the back field, just not on jet sweeps, swing him out on bananna routes, wheel routes, miss match on linebackers.
