We are clearly no longer a Government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Trump is almost certain to be acquitted by the Senate — not because he is innocent (he is undoubtedly guilty of all he has been charged with and more), but because he has the votes. The senators are reminding us daily that theirs is not the impartial body the Founders imagined. They do not even take their oaths seriously. Nor, for that matter, do those who will reflexively vote to acquit Trump seem to care much about the precedents they will be setting or the damage they will be doing to the institution in which they serve, or to American democracy as a whole. ....https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/01/28/trump-impeachment-documents-corruption-for-voters-history-column/4587556002/

In essence...they are traitors.

There was Mother Teresa, “a heroine of our times,” and Rosa Parks, “a living icon for freedom in America.” Elie Wiesel kept “watch against the forces of hatred,” while Jackie Robinson “struck a mighty blow for equality, freedom, and the American way of life.”Now, joining them and other recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest award bestowed by the government on a civilian, is Rush Limbaugh, “the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet.”................

a divisive media figure who has been accused of racist and sexist remarks — called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke “a slut” and “a prostitute” because of her support of women’s access to birth control. Or when he promoted the debunked birther claim that former president Barack Obama was not born in the U.S. Or when he questioned why Native Americans would be upset about their forced removal and ethnic cleansing since “they all have casinos.” Or when he compared asylum seekers coming to the U.S. border to the invasion of Normandy. Or when he said that actor Michael J. Fox was faking the symptoms of his Parkinson’s disease.

Krystal Ball, a Hill TV personality who Limbaugh falsely accused of posing nude when she was a young teenager,.........https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/rush-limbaugh-joins-the-likes-of-mother-teresa-and-rosa-parks-as-recipient-of-highest-civilian-honor/ar-BBZFLqi?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U508DHP

I don't believe this happened. It's manifested maddness.

I loathe statements like this.  I understand why you said it and think it, but stating it makes you no better than the person you're saying it against...

Rush getting this recognition is sad though...

Limbaugh is Trumps Goebbels.

It's not the same thing, not the same level of evil, but it's Megalomania all the same. This fits the pattern of how it got out of control in Germany in the 30's.

Everything is so scary out of control...

"By denying the American people a fair trial, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) also deprived the president of something that he desperately sought — exoneration," the impeachment managers wrote in the Washington Post. "There can be no exoneration without a legitimate trial. Out of fear of what they would learn, the Senate refused to hold one. The president will not be vindicated, and neither will the Senate, certainly not by history."

"Although Bolton told the House that he would sue rather than appear to testify pursuant to a subpoena, he appeared to have a change of heart and made it clear that he would be willing to testify in the Senate. Yet, rather than hear what Bolton had to say, Republican senators voted to hold the first impeachment trial in U.S. history without a single live witness or new document," the impeachment managers wrote.

They continued: "Nothing supported this unprecedented prohibition on witnesses and documents, except the overriding interest of a president determined to hide any further incriminating information from the American people and a Senate majority leader in his thrall."...........https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-impeachment-managers-say-trump-senate-permanently-stained-by-trial/ar-BBZIJcV?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U508DHP

What is a megalomaniac person?
A megalomaniac is a pathological egotist, that is, someone with a psychological disorder with symptoms like delusions of grandeur and an obsession with power. We also use the word megalomaniac more informally for people who behave as if they're convinced of their absolute power and greatness.
