vmax Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I'm beginning to get very excited about the draft next week. I'm late on doing my homework. It's a problem I've had since childhood. Time to cram.......... Nevertheless, I'm beginning to get very excited about the draft next week. So...who do the Ravens select in round 1 or who would you like to see them get? Bateman? Ojulari? Marshall Jr? Jenkins? Mohrig??? Who might fall to them? Time to add some HOF'ers! oldno82 Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 If I remember right, the last time we traded down out of the first into the second round we wound up with Sergio Kindle and Terrance Cody. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 And Ozzie did not do his due diligence. Obviously he had a drinking problem but the team ignored it. Cody was a fat slob and always was a lot idea. But with that bama blinder on he chose them anyway. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Another thing is that if you trade down and out, your first pick won't have that fifth option year on his rookie contract. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 If you get a premium on draft spot value then it is worth it. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Tough call in this draft class. Some of the potential best at what the Ravens need are either slotted too high to trade up for or, opted out of 2020, leaving many questions about real talent. What do the Ravens need? An edge rusher, a true qb killer, offensive line help, ones who are good at reconnecting on broken plays as well as opening holes.. A wide out, a real one, but then, no matter how loud Eric yells, this franchise just can't ever seem to find one... A lot has to do with Zeus jr; what happens with him, if they trade him, an offensive tackle might be the first pick. They could also go safety, injuries in the secondary seem to be a yearly thing that bites this team Quote
vmax Posted April 23, 2021 Author Posted April 23, 2021 Payne???? Please note: There will be a fabulous ER prize for the poster who correctly picks who the Ravens draft in the 6th round. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 With this trade with kc I would trade back. Recoup the 2nd round pick and gain a 1st for next yr. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Payne scares me, maybe another Michigan wanna be who can't... Quote
vmax Posted April 23, 2021 Author Posted April 23, 2021 Quote Offensive tackles have been a popular projection to the Ravens in the first round, including Oklahoma State's Teven Jenkins and Michigan's Jaylen Mayfield. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Baltimore Ravens Offseason Moves, Player, Trade, Orlando Brown Jr. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Dickerson is the pick to make! They can land a good talent at tackle in later rounds.. Get that center, unless they feel Colon is worthy of starting. With 2 firsts, albeit low, maybe someone will slip into the mid- late teens they can trade up for... We shall see Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I have seen to many places Dickerson sliding at least into the 2nd. If not for the injury yeah he would go 1st. Trade back and grab him Quote
tsylvester Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Na, take him at either first round pick, no sense waiting and losing him. Without the injury, he is a top 20 pick. From what I've seen, he is recovering very very well. Quote
vmax Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 Too many red flags on Dickerson for me.... Quote Landon Dickerson, OL, Alabama Dickerson had a decorated college career, but after tearing both ACLs and dealing with multiple ankle injuries, it will be tough for any team to trust him. Dickerson has first-round talent if he can stay healthy, but even as a second-round pick, he'll be risky...NFL Draft bust candidates: Trey Lance, Jaylen Waddle, Jayson Oweh and the riskiest picks in 2021 (msn.com) Same for Oweh. Quote ayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State Oweh wowed in his workouts, putting up freak measurables that always get scouts drooling. However, he didn't start playing football until 2016, and he wasn't particularly productive in college last year, registering zero sacks in seven games. Obviously, Oweh has plenty of room for growth, but if a team falls in love with potential and overdrafts him, it wouldn't be surprising to see him disappoint. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I am seeing that the Stanford qb is shooting up the board. He might slide into the end of the first. If someone calls take their 2nd and next yrs 1. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I like Mack. There are others u like too. Quote

Dickerson played through the ankle injuries, has almost fully recovered from his knee injury (even doing cartwheels now). Dude is a stud, strongest lineman in the draft, smart, still quick. Road grader, very good at pass blocking in an offense with both statues and mobile qbs behind him. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 But with the knocks being a first is to high. I have seen guys come back from injuries but more keep coming. Quote

The ACL's should have healed just fine with no future problems there. they happened on Alabama's time. Not Ravens time. Nevertheless, all these injuries make him a risk to me. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 But the ankles can turn into a long term issue. What you could play through in your early 20s can be crippling 5 yrs from now. Quote
