Mortgaged their future if you ask me. Of course he waived it. To complete the deal he has to waive it. To accept Watson bent them over on insane fanacials. Quote

GrubberRaven Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 They structured his first year base to either a million or so if he WERE to get suspended, he would lose the least amount of money. Pretty gross... Quote
GrubberRaven Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 I will try and find the source, but I had to read it several times to see if what I was reading was real. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 I remember that you could only load a certain percentage of base salary as backloaded. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 It doesn't really go into what I was talking about. Say you give a deal and the bonus is 40 mil. Yr 1 is 850k 2 is 850k 3 is 850k 4 is 850k and 5 is 65 mil. At least in the past you could not do that. Th3 base salary had to be within a threshold for each progressive season. Quote
