Gee...that too bad with what's happening to the Yinzers eh?! :fishin:

ESPN Power Ranking for this week: 7. Baltimore Ravens (3-2)
Week 5 ranking: 9
Chance to make the playoffs: 85.2%
Chance to win their division: 66.3%
Today's Quote: "Outside of tight end Mark Andrews, there is no reliable target for Lamar Jackson in the passing game -- which could turn into an issue. Baltimore's wide receivers have combined for 542 yards receiving, the second fewest in the league. Rashod Bateman, who was expected to become the No. 1 wide receiver, has struggled to stay healthy and is dealing with a left foot injury. It will be a challenge to move the ball through the air with few people to throw it to. Of the Ravens' next 12 games, eight are against defenses that rank in the top half of the NFL against the pass. This poses a challenge to securing a playoff spot. -- Jamison Hensley"

By unanimous consent, the ER Board of Directors (see above), voted that the Ravens will kick the G Men's asses and they approved Britney Spears membership free at no cost.

Here's the latest from the Castle.........also free of charge...

Harbaugh said he and Wink Martindale came to decision together about Martindale’s departure. Said they remain good friends and praised job Martindale is doing in New York.
[3:43 PM]
Asked how many blitzes he expects to see from Martindale Sunday, Lamar Jackson said, “There’s no telling. Shout out to Coach Wink.”

Ravens now have three guys who are in the midst of that 21-day window where they can practice before they have to either be added to 53-man roster or revert to I.R.
Gus Edwards' window started on Oct 5. Tyus Bowser and David Ojabo's window started Oct. 12.

In closing, playing the G Men is nostalgic....

The game played out as if it was Sehorn vs Ray. :yeah:

Their running game is scary, Wink knows how to play against Lamar.. The Ravens haven't been consistent stopping the run, and Lamar seems to hold the ball too long, when he should take off and run, clearly mindful of being a pocket passer.

Some talking heads, because of the aforementioned, are picking the GMen...

Not me. A long time ago the GMen were the media darlings, the Ravens struggling on offense... yadda yadda yadda..

As I told Marty Bass then, he was in an email thread with several of us, I say now: the Gmen don't know what is about to hit them... Ravens put together a complete game, offense, defense, special teams, 4 quarters baby and roll... The Ravens went on to humiliate the Gmen in the Super Bowl

Giants have the #2 rushing attack. 179 yards per game for 5.4 ypc. The Ravens are averaging 5.4 ypc also.

Stop or at least limit the damage that Barkley can do. I don't see the Ravens playing much zone this week. Safeties up!

G-men haven't been relevant since Frank Gifford, even then Baltimore kicked their asses.

Keep Barkley under 120 combined yards, I consider that a win win for the Ravens. Beating Green Bay in England meh, big deal. A bunch of good teams go across the pond and stink it up.

This game shouldn't be that close, there's a reason Baltimore opened up 6 point favs in NY. Talking heads can talk up the G-Men all they want,  this game is where we build up on the Cinncy victory and move on. 31-17 Ravens

We saw a decimated Ravens roster fall to the Packers last year with 42 seconds remaining. Yea...Harbaugh went for the 2 and the win. Yea....

For your enjoyment on a rainy day.....:gorave:

For all their talent up front, the Giants rank 24th in pass-defense efficiency, according to Football Outsiders, a result of their struggles covering tight ends and No. 1 receivers. Their safeties and linebackers are ripe to be attacked in the middle of the field....The Giants rank 31st in passing yards per game, and quarterback Daniel Jones has thrown just three touchdown passes, but he does not have a lot to work with.....The Giants rank 21st in run-defense efficiency, according to Football Outsiders and have allowed opponents to average 5 yards per carry.......Ravens vs. Giants scouting report for Week 6: Who has the edge? – Baltimore Sun

The Ravens are getting healthy at the right time. They are primed for a true break out game, the type they had when they were last at full strength. Someone call the medics and put them on hi alert, between the crappy field and the Ravens at full strength, the Giants are going to need blood and bandages..

Is Boyle done?

The New York Giants currently rank 13th in redzone offense scoring a TD 58.3% of the time. The last 2 years with Garrett they ranked 32nd and 31st

Ravens practice report Thursday

RB Justice Hill (hamstring) returns

Four players not practicing
WR Rashod Bateman (foot)
OLB Justin Houston (groin)
G Ben Cleveland (foot)
TE Nick Boyle
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman misses his 5th straight practice. He hasn't been out on the field since injuring his left foot in the third quarter against the Bills (Oct. 2).

With Bateman sidelined last week, Devin Duvernay was the only Ravens WR who received more than two targets.
Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) returned to practice Thursday after getting a rest day yesterday.

Baltimore could still rotate Stanley and Patrick Mekari at left tackle on Sunday.
Justice Hill, who has been the Ravens' most explosive back this season, returned to practice Thursday. He had been sidelined since injuring his hamstring in the fourth quarter against the Bills (Oct. 2). Hill leads all Baltimore RBs in rushing yards (125) and average (6.6).

The Giants are a worthy opponent. I think they were our 3 starters in their secondary and Rodgers couldn't exploit that. And they have Barkley. I also think the Ravens will run over them this week. They will stop the Giants rushing attack a force Jones to beat them and he can't. Should be a fast game with all the running.\

For Ravens WR Rashod Bateman, this is the second straight game that he has missed with a foot injury.

In total, Bateman has been sidelined for seven of the first 23 games of his career since being selected in the first round in 2021.
[3:01 PM]
With WR Rashod Bateman out last Sunday, the Ravens only had one wide receiver with more than 8 yards receiving (Devin Duvernay with 54)

Lamar's going to pass 20-35 times a game. Bateman will be back soon and he's damn good.  After watching Duverney the last 2 weeks, it looks like the Ravens have solved their #1 and #2 WR riddle. Now they need more from Dickson (he played 70% of the snaps only to have 1 catch) and Likely. On the 2 big misses last week Wallace and Duverney...just think of what's to come. Wink will go cover 0 and put 11 on the line. Going to be fun to watch

Posted

I think Likely, now that he has some real games under his belt & gotten used to the speed of the NFL, will have a big day. Wink won't let Andrews beat them, so Likely should get a lot of chances especially with Bateman out again.

Tight game here.  G-Men coming off a big win, Barkley is running hard, and Jones is playing well at QB.  Turnover battle will be huge and could decide outcome.   I see a close game - with 3 pt margin of victory- could go either way.

It might be close for the 1st half. Ravens pull away and win 27- 17. Nothing against Wink...:fishin:

That's nasty. If the Ravens were healthy, just think of where they would be and weep. :cryin1: Last year was a SB caliber roster and the same this year. The difference is that some key players are coming back this season. Many will be 100% by week 11. Then we get to the Revenge part of the season.

Protect the ball week: "The Giants don't have an interception this season, but they've been adept at takeaways by forcing 10 fumbles this season and recovering six."

Quote

The Baltimore Ravens defensive linemen have a saying that gets repeated often in the meeting room, during practice and on the sideline on game days. It’s essentially the group’s mantra.

“Earn the right to rush the quarterback,” they say.

There’s only one way to do that.

“You have to completely knock out the run first. After that, it’s a field day, basically,” defensive tackle Broderick Washington said. “We’re trying to get after the quarterback, but you definitely got to earn the right to do that. If not, teams are just going to keep running the ball.”...First-and-10: Key matchups and subplots for Ravens-Giants, plus a prediction - The Athletic

Barkley might keep them busy all day "earning the right."

Look Out Wink Stat: "Jackson is the league’s second-ranked quarterback against the blitz, completing 36 of 53 pass attempts for seven touchdowns and one interception."

This has got to stop: "Per Pro Football Focus, the Ravens have the second-most missed tackles in the NFL and are facing a running back in Barkley who is third in the league in yards after initial contact."

Seeing the list of players with torn Achilles is chilling, I've never seen a team with so many of types of injuries (5)...

Since when can't a safety play with a dislocated wrist? Tape it up, get back out there 😀

What's this NFL coming to? (Jest incase someone thinks I am being serious)

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!

I tell ya, after yesterday's action, wow what a great day of college football that was, I am hungry for more.

Sadly, only 2 games available, The NFL sucks, in my area, the Ravens vs Giants, and at least we get the Cheifs vs Bills..Bill's...

Man, bad decision to keep that, read the coverage, the rush,  Drake could have run forever with all of them in tight, in the box.

Cancels the field goal, leads to a punt into the endzone
