2012 schedule could hurt Ravens

I don't think this schedule will hurt the Ravens. I think it's the other way around.

The Ravens will hurt other teams playoff chances.

For the past two seasons, the Ravens and Steelers have finished with 12-4 records. Tiebreakers have decided the AFC North champion for 2010 and 2011.

bal.gifThat means the slightest advantage could determine whether a team is playing a wild-card game on the road, or staying home for its first playoff contest. ESPN's John Clayton believes the Ravens could lose their one-year edge against the Steelers because of the 2012 schedule:

They go from a .477 schedule in 2011 to a .523, a .46 change that could pull them down by two games from their 12-4 finish. Their .523 schedule is the fourth toughest in the league, tied with the

The biggest difference between the schedules for the Ravens and Steelers is their opponents from the AFC East and AFC South. As the result of a first-place schedule, Baltimore faces the New England Patriots and Houston Texans. Pittsburgh gets to face the New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans.

Besides...win your divisional games and the road gets a whole lot easier.

It's going to be nasty in the AFC North this year.

I don't think they will sweep the division either...that is one tough road.

The Bengals have a softer schedule but the Ravens have to control what they can control and that's an opening day, at home, MNF win over the Bengals (yes! it looks like that will be their first game) :gorave:

Ravens start out 1-0...Bengals 0-1.

Just look at the home games we have this year!

Home: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants

It's a fans dream. Not one snoozer.

I will be freeking out every home game! This is why I buy season tickets...to see a very competetive Ravens team test their mettle against the best.

Think about this: If the Ravens do well with their 16 game schedule, then they will be so playoff ready....so ready to slaughter whoever's in their way in the playoffs.

You got to beat the best to be the best.

look at week 3 & 4.

Sunday night game against the Patriots then 4 days later The Brownies. Ravens have the advantage as they will be home for both.

Then...week 14 at FedUp Field....

Drink heavily.

It's going to be ONE FRIGGN'N WILD SEASON!

Might finally put me in a straight jacket.

Yinz act like the steelers got some easy schedule. Two of our first three games are on the west coast. Now personally i like get peyton week one. We get to knock the rust off of him. Also i like going to sd week three since they normally ztart slow. We have back to back primetime games away but one is in cincy and we normally play pretty good in cincy with a ton of steelers fans there. We also have back to back prime time games at home with the cheifs then yinz. Now that i have typed it out like that i kinda like out schedule. I hate the early bye but we had a late one this year and were still pretty much just as beat up as before. Wow i didnt realize the ravens went to sd in between the steelers that does suck.
