vmax
Looking ahead to this game....let's see what our panel of experts have to say... "The Chiefs offense is #4 in total yards (Ravens are #2) so they are moving the ball up and down the field. Their only problem is they turn it over. A lot. That has been killing this offense. If they don't turn it over Sunday in Arrowhead, then the Ravens defense is going to have a long day." "Stopping Charles, the #2 rusher in the NFL at 5.8 ypc, is the Ravens #1 task. I can't see Charles running between the tackles against Ngata, Cody and Kemo who will have a feast on the guards and center. For the Chiefs, it will come down to getting running yards outside. Kruger/McClellan and Upshaw have to hold the edge and force him back inside. Pollard can and will make a difference....the Ravens need him thumping away Sunday. "Cassell...well....he's sucking pretty bad right now. How bad? The fans want Brady Quin to start...even Romeo is hinting at the possibility of Quin seeing some action."The Ravens need to do what they haven't...pressure and harrass him because Bowe is the #10 receiver in the league and he's the other guy the Ravens have to contain....or it will be a long day for the D." "The Chiefs defense does not give up nearly the yards that the Ravens D does, but they love to give up the points...14 more per game than the Ravens D who gets stout in the redzone. Joe and the offense need to overcome the crowd at Arrowhead. The noise in Philly did affect them and it will be worse here. Second, they need to protect the football. Let Cassell and his offense lose the game. Third...no stupid, drive killing penalties. Do that and they should score around their 30 point average." "The 1-3 Chiefs, facing the prospect of going 1-4, are wounded dogs Their fat, drunk and stupid backs are up against the wall. The Ravens can't afford to have a game like they had against the Browns and expect to come out with a win. The Ravens veteren leadership, team character and superior coaching staff won't let that happen due to the courses that they took here at Faber.Ravens in a close one...only because they are not dominant on the road like they are at home." varaven45
The key to this game is jumping on the chiefs right out of the gates and taking the crowd out of it. If we do that, we will be ok. If, on the other hand, we play like the Browns or Philly game, we will be in for a dogfight and probably lose in a close one. Got to jump out on a lead and keep the foot and the pedal for 60 minutes. cravnravn
Hold Charles to 80 yards or less, and this is a friggin blowout
papasmurfbell
They should be able to kick the hell out of them. KC soesn't have it.
yagersports
The Browns game was the result of playing on 3 days rest. We dominated the 1st half and were gassed the second half. We'll be more than refreshed for this game. Our only worry is allowing big runs by Charles.

cravnravn
It was 16 days btw. I am sure they were recouped from the openning MNF game. Knock the shit off Pops, the Ravens went through a stretch of 17 days and 4 games, it hadnt been done since 1939..Wonder why they choose the Ravens to test that brutal of a stretch run? 10 days rest, this is going to be a blowout Sunday
papasmurfbell
One every team in the NFL has to get a national game. So look at the Cle game, most teams that will be matched with them and the ratings will suck. The NFL network did that game more than likely because NBC and ESPN wanted nothing to do with it. It is tough getting all these games made up with done. There are games that have to be worked around other events in cities. The Ravens still played poorly. cravnravn
2 peas of a pod there..Do you really think Sport would have scheduled our games at the same time???
papasmurfbell
There is no doubt that MLB did that on purpose. T he Giants are at 1 too. The Jets are on MNF. In that the O's are home they needed enough time after the ravens game to allow fan movement.
vmax
I'm looking for improvement in the defense from here on out. Every area that the D can get better in will be huge toward making it to the playoffs and going farther. Then I'm looking for a significant reduction in penalties. The Ravens are getting out of control here and it has hurt them.Next: Winning on the road. Finally, establishing a running game. The Ravens 13th ranking is deceiving. They are 22nd in attempts. They are #5 in ypc with a very respectable 4.7 ypa. They will need to run the ball more to beat certain teams. Plus it forces defenses to play honest and allows Joe to keep the heat off of him.I do think Cam and Joe know what they are doing here. Because they have the deep passing game and the explosive play, when teams focus on stopping Rice, they go over the top. When teams play back, they give them a dose of Ray Rice. Cam is set on preserving and keeping Rice healthy for the final stretch of the season and playoff run....so he wants to limit Ray's rushing carries....not so much his receptions, because he doesn't get pounded by tackles, guards and LB's on these plays.Ray will get his touches....I think he's the best RB in the NFL. He will be a real tough weapon to unleash down the stretch. Edited October 7, 2012 by vmax
papasmurfbell
It takes to long for the running game to get going. Lately it hasn't gotten going until Peirce goes in and breaks a long one or two. Then RR gets going also. Maybe have Peirce start get a few carries and then RR goes out and runs wild. Not sure yet what is happening there. papasmurfbell
If you play like crap against poor teams all the time you will not perform consistently when the real competition comes around. It has proven out way to often over the yrs.
yagersports
The Patriots didn't play like crap against sub par teams during their undefeated regular season or during their most recent trip to the Super Bowl, how did that work for them? As a matter of fact, the team they played both times did lay some eggs to some sub par teams during the season......and they won the Super Bowl both times. Taking it a step further, the year the Pack won the Super Bowl they weren't blowing people away early in the season. They didn't play well when they needed. Contrastly, the Steelers were dominating teams. I believe the Pack won.
