ForceEight Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 No confirmation. That's the fear. We'll see. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 The D is that much better now. Is it the same knee or the other one. Quote
vmax Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Yea...it's not confirmed. The Ravens website calls it a sprain. The Sun...According to a league source, the fear is that Webb has a torn left anterior cruciate ligament. A magnetic resonance imaging exam will be conducted Monday to confirm the initial diagnosis. Quote
thundercleetz Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Webb tore his right ACL a few years ago, so different knee this time. Quote
vmax Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) Update from Harbaugh... "Lardarius Webb does not look good right now," Harbaugh said. "It's a potential ACL. We've got a problem there. We don't know for sure, but that's what it looks like right now." His leadership and great 60 minute play can't be replaced. One of the few defensive players who can tackle. other injury news.... Meanwhile, Pro Bowl middle linebacker Ray Lewis injured his right triceps in the fourth quarter and didn't finish the game. Although Harbaugh said, "I don't think it's really bad," there was concern after the game that it's serious and he was set to get an MRI on his right arm. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata left the game in the second quarter with a sprained right knee. Ngata also aggravated a minor right shoulder injury. He limped off the field and headed to the locker room for further examination from team doctor Leigh Ann Curl. He later returned and has recorded six tackles and a sack despite playing in obvious discomfort. "Quite a bit," Ngata said when asked how much pain he was in. "I tried to fight through it. I thought I would finish. I didn't want to not finish. We had a good rotation going on."Cornerback Jimmy Smith didn't finish the game because of a strained groin. vmax Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 NFL Redzone says the Ravens fear a torn tricepts for Ray....that would be season ending. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I hate to see this. Webb is a great ambassador for the team and is a budding leader. For Lewis, obviously his career clock is ticking. I'm sure if this is a season ending injury he'll want to come back in some capacity next season so that he doesn't finish his career on IR. Glass half full - the defense can't get much worse. Quote
thundercleetz Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 ACL tear has been confirmed by Aaron Wilson of the Sun. Terrible, terrible news. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Now they will attack hard on the ground and through the air. If Ray is done with the tricept the LB's are hurting extra too. Quote
thundercleetz Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Now they will attack hard on the ground and through the air. If Ray is done with the tricept the LB's are hurting extra too. Time for Joe to air it out! Seriously though, something needs to change scheme-wise defensively. Our blitz deception has been horrible. We cannot stop the run, and the pass rush is terrible so our DBs are getting roasted. Quote
Robjr83 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 We can't get pressure on blitzes so we might as well just keep them in coverage...right? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 What I have noticed is when they do a good job they walk away from it and go prevent way to early. Cody is a loser and he has been a waste of a pick. Now over 2 yrs removed from the 2010 draft it is looking like Dickson and Pitta might be the only quality out of that draft. Quote

I agree, Cody has been a huge disappointment. He started last season really strong but he has completely fallen off since then. Good point too. Romo only had around 165 passing yards through three quarters. He went off in the fourth. Quote
vmax Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Cody needed to gain weight...not lose it.The same for the rest of the Medi-Fast Ravens. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I couldn't agree more. And Ray L. made a BIG mistake weight-wise. Yep. He maybe faster but he takes more abuse. He just old now and needs to walk away instead of getting kicked out. I think they will have to boot him out the door. Quote

I think they will have to boot him out the door. They may have to if Ray doesn't decide to do it on his own. I hope it doesn't come to that though but old athletes seldom know when to retire. Another thing, Pollard hasn't been the same guy since he got injured. He's playing hurt and can't deliver those punishing tackles he did before. Quote
vmax Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Ray won't walk away....not with $5.4 mil guaranteed next year. Quote
