thundercleetz Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 @sportswcoleman: BREAKING: So the #Ravens Ed Reed jus tells @1057TheFan he has a " Labrum tear" in shoulder, " is it affecting my game ?,maybe" Good thing Ed is not a baseball player... Quote
vmax Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Good grief! It's not stopping. There are maybe 5 healthy guys on defense....Williams, Ellerbe, Upshaw, Brown and McClain. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 It has to effect you. It is something you can play through though. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Well, that might explain all the missed tackles and or his penchant for trying to tackle guys' helmets or the football, instead of just wrapping up. Of course , no one else is wrapping up on the team . In fact , guys are just goin for the big shot - whatever makes it on ESPN. Back to Reed. If he truly has a labrum tear, that's a simple procedure that they can do arthroscopic ally and rehab is typically 2-3 weeks. If its an issue, get er done now. We'd only lose him for Houston game and at worst Cleveland game. After returning, he might return to wrapping guys up. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Unless he has had it for at least 3 yrs then that does not explain why he has missed tackles. Quote
thundercleetz Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Outside of last week, I thought Ed has been much improved and more aggressive in run support. Honestly, it is probably only a slight or partial tear (which is the same thing as a sprain). No one in the world outside of young children are 100%. I'm sure if any of us went to the doctor for a full detailed physical some kind of tendon tear would be revealed. Ed has not been on the injury report this season for his shoulder. I am sure he is fine. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 But if its a tear or has multilple small tears, he should get it done before the bye week and miss only 1-2 (max) games. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I think the nerve impingement problem would still make it hard and painful for him to tackle even if the labrum was repaired. Quote
