varaven45 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Is he worth a signing for the stretch run? Couldnt hurt our pass rush, esp with Skins, Broncos and Giants in the offing.Plus, doesnt he have some prior experience in Philly with Harbaugh ? Food for thought. Quote
vmax Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 He's done. The tanks on E. Can't play the run and can't get to the QB. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Babbin spent and done, really Max ? Wow, this guy must have really tanked. Quote
vmax Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Tanked this year. Sometimes you go real fast like Boulware. He was never good against the run. Rushing the passer was his meal ticket. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Dont think hes worth a 5 game meal ticket against his former NFC East foes, as a situational pass rusher ? Quote
reddog271 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 doubt we could afford him.. but he was the #1 rusher on his team.. he'd be what, the 3rd best on our team? he'd always be singled up.. Quote
yagersports Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 If we could get a guy that can still beat one on one that would be a goofld pickup. Renember everyone thought Pryce was done and we got a few good years out of him. We tend to do well picking up vets on D. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Yep, I bet Ray, Reed & Suggs could amp him up for a few sacks during the stretch run. With everyone facing the injury bug, I am sure some contender will scarp him up . Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 He could give us a lift as a rent a player. With 5.5 sacks he'd be tied for the team lead. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 He could give us a lift as a rent a player. With 5.5 sacks he'd be tied for the team lead. That's what I am saying. At the very least, he could rush the passer, create some pressure , provide some needed depth along the DL. If we don't snag em, you watch how one of our AFC competitors does. Just sayin.... Quote
cravnravn Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) No Cap room, we'd have to release a special teamer..And Babbin is of no help on special teams, hes a 1 trick pony. Edited November 28, 2012 by cravnravn Quote
yagersports Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I'd say one special team player is worth a guy like Babbin. I betcha he could get 5 sacks on our stretch run and who knows what he could do in the playoffs. Let's be honest, we'll probably have to face New England, Houston, and then possibly Eli or Rodgers. Quote
cravnravn Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 If hes that good, why was he released? Quote
cravnravn Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Nevermind, just read the article..Andy Reid must have found his sons dope supply.. SIGN HIM!!!! he was a good 3 years in him Quote
cravnravn Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 So who we cutting? we only have 1.6 mil in Cap space, We might need to cut a couple of players to get him in. Quote
yagersports Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Bobbie Williams, McKinnie could fill in at either Gurad or Tackle. Bobbie can only play guard. Maybe too short sighted, is there a special teamer that's expendable? Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 We were talking about this on another board and it wouldn't work for the Steelers or ravens. He is a 4-3 de the only thing he could do in a 3-4 is play olb. It's nor a horrible transition but he would have to learn pass coverage and playing from the standing position. The only time he would be handy is in the dime defense but do you really want to pay a guy for one formation Quote
yagersports Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 For one season on a stretch run, yes. Especially since we are likely to play any of the following QBs, Brady, Shaub, Manning, the rapist, Manning, or Rodgers. All very dangerous QBs in which we'll be in the nickel alot. Quote
yagersports Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Yeah, he cost too much and the Eagles are moving for next year. Quote

His career did not take off until he was in the 4-3. Quote
vmax Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Defensive end Jason Babin, who was released Tuesday by the Philadelphia Eagles, was claimed on Wednesday by the Jacksonville Jaguars.http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8687541/jason-babin-claimed-jacksonville-jaguars-waivers Actually, when you think about it, it's not much worse than being in Philly. Quote
cravnravn Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 There is a reason he was cut. Yea, its called Phillys season down the shitter, Andy Reid is next Quote
cravnravn Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 And Vick is right behind him. Vick didnt even play Monday night..Is he hurt? Quote
