colincac Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Kruger 5 year 40 Million to ClevelandEllerbe reaches agreement with Miami, terms yet to be reported. Typical overpayment of a winning roster. Quote

vmax Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 He had one good season and needed Suggs to come back to get that. It basicly took 4 years of development to get that one good season. He played great last year....made a much needed impact... but you don't pay that kind of money for 1 year out of 5. Quote
cravnravn Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I dont care about Kruger, its Elerbee that I wanted badly. Quote
cravnravn Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Elerbee 5 years 35 mil, and he says the Ravens wernt even in the ballpark with their offer.. WTF Quote
dc. Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 To be honest, I was still never sold on Ellerbe. (This of course doesn't mean I'm not concerned about where we will be with our LB corps). But Ellerbe never really overwhelmed me short of a solid run in the late season, but never particularly stellar. I'm certainly not convinced that he won't end up another Bart Scott or Adalius Thomas (obviously Adalius didn't play inside). But the point remains - is he alone a player to build around? Maybe, but not sold. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Ellerbe was fantastic when he was on the field. He was a play maker Even when he was a backup you could see flashes. To me - he was the difference maker on defense during our run. 5 years 35 mil? The Ravens should have done that deal or at least tagged him. My only concern with him was injuries but I would have taken the risk. Quote

Yeah, so lets take our chance with mcClain, whoi BTW hasnt been declared to start working out due to a spinal bruise...Good Lord Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 He was the best player on the D for 2012. Quote
colincac Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 IMO there's no way we should've given Ellerbe that kind of money. I would've done $5 a year. Gotta wonder what we did offer. Quote

vmax Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 We're down to Josh Bynes. Ellerbe was a beast but it took him years to get to this level too. Now that he has the money will he produce? He doesn't have Ray cracking the whip and telling him where to go. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Does Ozzie trip over LB's? Let Bynes play. Also there is the draft. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 No that is pretty high for a LB. The tag number was $9.455. So he is making less than 2.5 below it. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000117300/article/franchise-tag-numbers-tentatively-set-2013-cap-near-121m Quote

vmax Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 If he can wrap up trent richardson and jonathan dwyer he can imagine hes dating whoever the hell he wants You know....that's a thought. There's nothing better than a psyco linebacker. Maybe Pees can show him photos of players that he needs to wrap his arms around and tell him "That's your girlfriend! Go get her!" Quote
