colincac Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Holy hell where they getting this moneyWe had about 5 Million in space before this move I believe, b/c of the Rule of 51 that someone discussed in another thread. Assuming we are giving him only $1 Mil this year and more later, as usual. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/03/13/on-the-market-huff-and-heyward-bey/ PFF had Huff rated as the #2 safety in all of football in 2011. In 2012 the Raiders played him at corner. Unreal, had no idea Huff played CB all year last year or was THAT good 2 years ago. Loved him coming out of the draft but haven't followed him lately, what a pickup. His versatility is huge for us so we can draft the best safety overall, not have to try and target a SS or FS specifically, and also love the ability to play CB with Smith and Webb potentially 'injury-prone' Speaking of former Raiders, I would really like DHB on a 1 year deal. 1 Quote
cravnravn Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 A former first rd pick of the raiders they sure know how to ruin them. How soon before we get Hayward bey 1 1 Quote

cravnravn Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I think Ozzie found my baseball card collection from the early 60's that I've been missing and cashed them in. 1 Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 All we need now is a middle backer and our defense is solid. Minter from LSU!!! Quote
colincac Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 With this defensive line I could line up at MLB and make some plays haha. One of the 'studs' in this draft is gonna fall to us in the 1st round and Oz will do his thing and take Best Player Available. Quote
colincac Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 I'm thinking tavon from wva at wrWould've loved this but latest mocks I read the other day all had him going before pick 22 or so. Rose up the draft boards Quote
oldno82 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 This was a move the Ravens had to make. We just needed a veteran presence at one of the safety positions.Remarkable that they got him for just 6 mil for 3 years. Wondering if we have any cap money left to bring back McKinnie. If they want him. 1 Quote
RavenMad Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 At WR in the draft I'm liking DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson or Keenan Allen from Cal as 1st round prospects in our range and Da'Rick Rogers as a 2nd round prospect. All 3 might not burn you with their speed but they have good hands, great size and good athleticism. They would fill the role Boldin played, We don't really have a physical receiver on the roster outside of maybe Doss and not including the TEs. Quote

vmax Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Ozzie's eliminating need from his draft board.Love this new, solid acquisition. He's versatile which only makes this defense more unpredictable. Pee's must love it. Quote
colincac Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Another key to the Dumervil and Huff signings, both guys were released by their teams and thus do not count in the compensatory draft math. With the big money Ellerbe, Kruger, and Cary got we should be seeing a 4th and 5th rounder again next year Those extra picks are a big value. Quote

oldno82 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 From Baltimore Sun: "Huff said his decision became even more obvious when he learned that the Ravens had signed pass rusher Elvis Dumervil this week."I wanted to be here,” said Huff, who works out with Ravens cornerback and fellow former Texas standout Chykie Brown in the offseason. “Especially once they got Dumervil, I saw with that pass rush with him [Terrell] Suggs and [Haloti] Ngata, it makes my job a lot easier." RavenMad Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Shouldnt we get a 3rd for Kruger, he signed a 40 mil dollar deal No. 3rd round picks only go out for guys who got $10m+ per year in FA. I estimate we should be picking up 2 4th round picks and 2 5th round picks next year for our FA losses. 1 Quote
