  1. Going up against a talented team with a first year head coach. This is where a long tenured coach like Harbs should make a difference and put us over the edge. Be honest though, do you think he can do that? If your answer is no, then is he really the coach we need to get this team out of its recent run of mediocrity?
  2. Let the Ravens website - The Ravens went from #27 to #2 ranked rushing attack since Lamars first start. Teams know whats coming and still cant stop it. Does it translate against a top D? I think so. We need our D to step up. We need that peek a boo pass rush to show itself this week. We need Humphrey to keep playing elite corner and we need Weddle to wrap up! Keenan Allen questionable. Melvin Gordon is probably going to play.
  3. RG3 is the perfect mentor/backup. I dont know why you need a pocket passer. I think it makes more sense to have someone with a similar style to your QB1 - RG3 gives you that and is a decent passer as well. Foles for some reason plays out of his mind in a philly uniform but didnt play as well when he left to go to the Rams. At any rate I think someone is going to give him another chance to start
  4. Im not so sure. A lot of collapses with Flacco under center but this is a different team with Lamar and the dominant run game. There arent as many 3 and outs and with the exception of KC when they get the lead they are better able to close out teams. The D was already doing a better job closing out teams with Wink and his aggressive style has fit perfectly with the new ball control offense. I dont know if we beat the chargers but I think they play them as tough as KC and they nearly beat them.
  5. I thought weddle played much better vs the bucs than in the previous week. He was active and had that great full extension pass breakup. All in all though he has definitely been a liability overall. A lot of Ravens fans bitching about us passing on Derwin James in the first round who well see this week.
  6. Ahh what the hell the Chargers are due for a loss right?
  7. Humphrey is balling today. Have we seen corner play this solid since CMac?
  8. Willie Snead is a boss. He is doing everything out there on offense - catching and blocking.
  9. If this wasnt a must win before it is now. Next week SD will be playing for a chance at the one seed (on 10 days rest) after beating KC
  10. Rex Ryan thinks the Ravens would be fools to let Harbaugh go. Its about halfway through the clip. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lzXBO44_FSw&feature=youtu.be
  11. If this was on the road Id be worried. At home though- I think they got this.
  12. Very surreal watching the presser clips of Flacco Harbs and Jackson today. I knew it was coming but still odd to watch Flacco get benched in favor of a rookie
  13. Agree. He might have been more valuable in yesteryears nfl, but in the pass happy league of today he is exposed too often
  14. I agree with that LJ needs opportunities to develop as a passer, I just dont think that was the best time with the low margin for error (trying to stay ahead/keep up with KCs offense) and the run working successfully.
  15. i like Marty more than most fans. I was ok with him coming back - I think his energy and quirky enthusiasm is good for the team. I also think he gets a bum shake by having Flacco as his QB - I do understand that he is at fault for treating Flacco like Joe montana and asking him to pass 100 times a game. All that said, like the author of the article I was also perplexed to see them passing so often when they were running well. I know there was a series or two early on where the Chiefs stopped the run but then the Ravens got right back at it and at one point were averaging 8 yards on 1st down according to a graphic shown on the broadcast. Still inexplicably we'd pass on 1st or 2nd and fail setting up 3rd and long. Lamar converted quite a few of those so it didn't end up being pivotal but seemed like an unnecessary risk to put the rookie in that situation in a tough environment.
  16. I am in agreement but I do think we need to use someone else in the 2 minute until Lamar demonstrates he won't be a massive liability there.
  17. The defense played way better than I expected against Mahomes. Lamar played better than I expected and had some nice throws but I was surprised to see 0 improvement in the 2 minute drill from the previous week.
  18. I didn't say all that I just don't see how it benefits the team to give Joe snaps here or there. Joe wants to be the starter, it's not going to pacify him to split carries with Lamar. And if you split carries between Lamar and Joe you're just messing with the rhythm of both quarterbacks. The only benefit Joe gives is in the 2 minute so that's where I would think it makes sense playing him. Until recently I didn't even think you could sub QB's in an out unless someone was hurt.
  19. I would be shocked if Joe is tabbed to do anything other than back up Lamar and run the two minute if needed. This team is so much better with Lamar under center and every knows it (except for Weddle i guess)
  20. I like Harbs but the statistics say he produces average results. His win totals for the last 6 seasons are 8, 10, 5, 8, 9, and 7. If they don't win out that's only one season with double digit victories in 7 years. We can do better. His loyalty to poorly performing coaches have hurt this team (Dean Pees, Juan Castillo). Dean Pees especially should have been let go 2 years before he was forced to leave. I also don't think he's absolved of blame when it comes to the performance of his players - he clearly has a say in the personnel being drafted and how much of it falls on him for failing to develop the players? If they miss the playoffs this year I don't see how you bring him back. With the talent on this team and the way the D is performing this should be a 11 - 12 win team. Part of the problem is leaving after this season (Flacco) so the question is who do you trust to handle Lamar Jackson's development? I gotta think there are better options out there than Harbaugh.
  21. Well if he was on the hot seat last week he is as good as gone now. This team is horribly underachieving.
  22. He just didnt bother going thru his progressions. Whenever Joe gets a taste of pressure early in a game he gets easily rattled. He saw the first read was covered and threw it away anticipating pressure that wasnt there.
  23. Can you rebuild when you are stuck with a 20+ million qb for the next three years? Harbaugh has to go. If Steve loves him so much give him another job in the organization. We are stuck with Flacco so get an offensive mind that will give him the best shot to succeed.
  24. We're talking about a 25 year old second team all pro. They don't grow on trees. This whole situation is fishy but that said if Orr is going to play next year the Ravens screwed up by not making sure they kept his rights.
