  1. Haven't looked at his contract lately but I think Suggs has one more year of a large cap hit where it wouldn't make sense to release him. And what's up with pass rushers and torn achilles? Cameron Wake just tore his. He was in the middle of a spectacular season.
  2. Steve is probably thinking the same thing as everyone else: is Dean Pees the right guy to lead the defense? We need to start building a WR corps like the Steelers do instead of mixing old vets with undrafted FAs. How do we fix this secondary?
  3. 82, this is the article Tornado was referencing. Readers afflicted with this condition wrote in response to this article saying how the condition never truly goes away. Readers said it's not a chronic problem, but it makes one more injury prone and have slower recovery.
  4. It's all about the bottom line, Browns fans would sell their soul to the devil for playoff wins in each of six of the last seven seasons plus a Super Bowl. We definitely have serious holes, but there is such parity in the NFL that any team with a good QB is always one offseason away from competing. I think we are spoiled in the sense that we expect to make the playoffs each year and win at least one game. Many fans would be happy with simply making the playoffs. It could be a lot worse for Ravens fans.
  5. I agree Treadwell would be a perfect fit. He's the complete receiver who could let Perriman focus on being a deep threat. He's my dream pick at this point. Tim, how would you compare Treadwell as a prospect to Amari Cooper?
  6. I almost enjoy watching this train wreck.
  7. Who wants to bet me. First down run for no gain, we pack it in for the half.
  8. Great adjustment and throw by Palmer. He is looking like he did before his knee injury.
  9. Terrible ball skills by both Trawick and Mosley.
  10. We were actually the first team to set the market.
  11. Colts pay Luck, and they have less money to spend on the rest of the team and are bad. Same with Seattle and Russell Wilson, 49ers and Kap, Bears and Cutler, the Giants and Eli, Falcons and Ryan, Chargers and Rivers The market rate is over-inflated for QBs. You can say the QBs are overpayed, but until teams start refusing to pay for an extraordinary amount of the cap for above-average, the market rate will continue to be what it is. The only QBs that are proving to truly elevate the play of others and prove their worth are Ben, Rodgers and Brady. Even Dalton is proving his worth, but he's still early in his extension with a relatively low cap number.
  12. Not saying you're wrong. He's not a guy that can make poor WR's better. He's a guy if you give him good weapons he can be a Super Bowl winning QB. Give him bad weapons and he's the QB of a 1-5 team. Simple as that.
  13. Apparently not. But in all fairness to Joe, his receivers outside of SSS probably shouldn't be on an NFL team.
  14. Here comes a third and long screen pass.
  15. Flacco is not looking comfortable in the pocket. Not setting before throwing. Usually INTs follow when Flacco gets into this sort of groove.
  16. Our first down playcalling is pathetic.
  17. Lets see... Carson Palmer always killed us, Bruce Arians always killed us. This should be ugly.
  18. More redzone woes. Kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns is how you lose games.
  19. I really do not want to watch this game, but here I am. The Ravens and I have a complicated relationship.
  20. @NealMcCready: Laquon Treadwell is making serious money tonight blocking downfield. Only Tunsil has more pancake blocks so far. @JoshHelmholdt: Easily the best blocking WR I've covered coming out of HS. Was recruitable on that trait alone, he was that good https://t.co/r4TuPrYGJd @TomVH: @JoshHelmholdt @NealMcCready I remember he even played DE sometimes in high school. Could do anything
  21. Good post. Think you may be on to something here.
  22. I'd argue we've been rebuilding since the Super Bowl win. Our drafting has simply been poor. You can rebuild but it doesn't guarantee success if you have poor execution. Offensive and defensive line were rebuilt, we tried to rebuild the WR, DB and LB corps and struck out. What kind of rebuild are you advocating for? Starting completely over and getting rid of Flacco? Harbaugh? As long as Flacco and Harbaugh are here we are going to have some vets on this team.
  23. Wow I didn't even know about the injury and heart attack. All things considered probably the craziest ending I've seen in college football. Right up there with the Alabama-Auburn Kick-6. Nothing like college football rivalry games.
  24. Good stuff everyone! I tend to agree with the sentiments here. Keep Joe and give him more weapons. Treadwell would be a dream pick. Would also give Perriman a better chance at developing as well. Anyone seen Matt Ryan's stats when not throwing to Julio Jones? Spoiler alert, not pretty. One more thing about Goff. Jeff Tedford is no long the Cal coach. Different system than Boller, Rodgers, A. Smith, etc.
  25. Tim, how do you evaluate Flacco as a redzone QB? We have always had a terrible redzone offense under Harbaugh, and even under Kubiak, Flacco has been below average. I think the field is too tight and requires too quick a decision for what Flacco is comfortable is. Is this correctable? Ultimately this team's inability to turn FG's into TDs have been its downfall.
