No, no, we don't want it on the goal line... Can we back up?
-
If you want five yards, the Ravens will give it to you. Not sure why any team even plays for the big play... Just take the drag route all day.
-
True, I was thinking of it a bit backwards. But that area was still undeveloped - odd given the overdevelopment of everything else.

I would add a few more items to the list in general - and perhaps just put Flacco and Oplay-calling on the same line. I think when things are really good -and really bad- it becomes difficult to distinguish between the scheme and the components as to which are failing. Meanwhile, I just think Joe's play in the final minutes has been very in line with the rest of the game - not great by any means, inconsistent, certainly. But like differentiating between the play calling and QB, etc... I don't see his play in the final minutes as especially better or worse than the rest of the game. It is also totally fair to "expect" something of the QB who considers himself - and wants to get paid - among the best in the league. My point only was that we actually have no clue what Brady's numbers or play would look like if he were scratching for every victory in the final two minutes. Maybe I am forgetting a season where that was his reality. This is not the same as saying "Joe and Brady are the same." It's saying that breaking Joe's numbers down by his final four minutes doesn't make sense. To put it another way - something tells me that most teams who have the fight for a win in the final two minutes EVERY WEEK don't wind up as very good ... is that a failing in the final two minutes or a sign of a failing across the entire game? I would argue the latter. If this TEAM were any good, then the games wouldn't even be in question in those final minutes.

Y'all are so far off... "Thank God basketball season starts in three weeks, preseason #1 baby..."

Interesting... Not sure. I grew up down the street from that spot. But I'm pretty sure it's always been county owned. The old jail was there forever and right next to it was/is Carver High. Would strike me as odd that the little spot in between, totally undeveloped, would have been privately owned... But again, no clue. And not all public buildings are on public land. My grandmother owned the land several post offices are on and accrued rent from the govt

Precisely. But the answer is, it's got to be a lot. In just about every major town you can find mayors and councils directing money to firms that are owned by friends, family, etc. Worst part of that article: the one judge is maintaining he took kickbacks but didn't change his sentencing at all to ensure payment. Yeah, sure.

That's precisely what was said.

They really might be the best act out there- definitely the most diverse, exciting. And their bassist might be the chillest fella on the planet. And damn her voice can do gymnastics

I think Walking Dead has hit the point of holding on too long and losing it's pacing. Stopped watching last season - might have finished it out slowly but didn't even care enough to know now. Haven't watched at all this year. I know that other thread on it is still running... but I just can't really deal with the repeating narrative, poor pacing, etc... Gotham I enjoyed a few episodes of. I don't really have the time to watch anything these days, so it just got cut from my roster... but I think I am also done with superheroes for a bit.

Crav... In the previous convo, remember it's not just about football. Football is about the money, and eventually competing ... Which could happen given the better exposure. But we can and will compete in every other Big10 sport from the very beginning.

TS... Disagree on Hills. He is a single threat: running. He can't throw.

Well... technically each one "costs" half of the total project, in a sense, right? I mean, construction is just part of the money set aside for these things... the costs of maintaining them and operating them, now somewhat lost, counts as well! I also just read that the thing's tail fell off about 1/2 a mile before it crashed... I will give the benefit that maybe it was not designed to fly almost upside down or with a cord hanging off it or almost crashing into trees... but REALLY?!?!?!?! The freaking tail wasn't attached?!?!?!?!

I'm just tired of this whole thing. The team is playing poorly, coached poorly. The D has given up more than 20 points on every game since game one... But clearly our offense is the problem. Joe's thrown three picks to end games. That sucks. But we shouldn't be there anyway and on several occasions we were only there when the D blew a lead the O had just created. Bottom line: you can't take a sack or just run around on the final play of the game. So it's throw to win or their to lose. But the entire play is win or lose, not just Joe's decision. Fuck off on this whole thing. How miserable some people make fandom.
-
How many times did Joe come through only to have it blown again? Why is it exactly we need Joe to come through in the last minutes anyway? The whole premise of being the best in the last two minutes is skewed. Where does Brady rank this year? Doesn't even belong in the list if he is there because just how many times has he needed to play the final four minutes? What's our D ranked in the final quarter?

Those blimps again! Blimp on the loose! http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2015/10/28/report-military-blimp-came-off-tether/

Only thing I'd change is that if day straight, Joe is the least of our problems . That's not the same as saying he's perfect or doesn't have to improve, but he doesn't appear on the radar for why this team is 1-6.
-
Someone wanted to call that a pick (it wasn't really)... but they wanted to.
-
Mosley and whoever looked like freaking JVers there... not even beat on the play but no clue what to do except flail. Oy.
-
I'm not crying. But your "he gets paid like..." line is not only old, it's specious ... complete the argument or shut up about it at this point.
-
Fixed it. I'm not getting into this... but when's the last time one of those highly paid QBs had four coordinators in four years? Hell, MNF did a nice job running through just how much this team has changed so quickly since the SB... very few of the "top guys" can really adjust to that successfully.

1. Nice drive. 2. Friendly crowd. Loved the "O" in the anthem.
-
Agree that we're not as bad as our record, but also think there are obviously flaws in prediction models that said we had a super bowl caliber roster! Ouch.

Steve Smith: notorious yes man Ray Rice: notoriously aggressive and strong headed (as if his departure was a Harbaugh choice) Terrell Suggs: notorious yes man Also funny to consider that apparently John controls the fo decisions for this team.
