  1. Gave him the car keys and drove the team to victory
  2. I think Lamar needs a full year - thats it. If he works out great if he doesnit we draft a new QB in 2020.
  3. Agree wholeheartedly. And there are no excuses or exceptions, regardless of what Harbaigh says. No ands if or buts, the team who wants this game the most will be victorious. And the loser can start preparing for 2019 +
  4. Yep, maybe old school guy here but D still wins championships.
  5. Interestingly, the Ravens D is ranked 1st in NFL in overall D- 305 yards/game. Not a huge deal given "some" the mediocre opposition thus far - notwithstanding Ben and Brees. Still, its gives a glimmer of hope for the future, especaily if we jettison some of the dead wood. Speaking of which, when are we going to see more of Kenny Young at LB and Chuck Clark at S. We need to get these guys - who have motors and arfe thumpers - into the D. While at it, we are in deperate need of a consistent, dominant pass rusher (Aaron Donald type) Yeah, there arent many but they are out there - FA or draft. We fix those 3-4 holes on D, we ve got us something. Otherwise, we can at least enjoy for 1 week the No 1 D in the NFL. That and a buck gets you a cup of joe !
  6. Diasgree but that's cool. You keep for Yanda for continuity and leadership, Crab for experience and proven success. We arent dealing with prefection here just getting better one year at a time.
  7. Id probably only hold on to Crab and Yanda. Still save $35 M. That gives DeCosta and Co a good deal to work with.
  8. Hes already the best young QB in the division. Maybe even the conference.
  9. We could get shut out or put up 30 neither of which would shock me. But with the way Marvin has Joes number laying an egg wouldnt surprise me. All the more reason to stick in Lamar !
  10. Give LJ the car keys. Lets see what hes got. None of us here thought Joe had enough when he was given the keys in 08. Give em a shot !
  11. Yes, put the young man in there. Hes had almost 6 months to watch and play. Give him the car keys.
  12. The thing is : 8-8 and .500 winning record is and has been acceptable for the last 5 years. No future change in leadership/coaching = no future change in winning record. Or, at least, the insanity continues.....
  13. Yep, lots of guys living off the legacy of Art, Ray and JO. Time for some new legacy makers. The problem : who ? We've seen how Snyder and Jones have ruined the Skins and Cowboys. Just like Angelos and the Os. Its practically unfixable (maybe already is). Like the high paid divas, the owners have theirs ($) and winning is secondary or tertiary. I just hope the Biscuit doesn't sell out to some greedy, strict money making machine with 0 interest/passion for football.
  14. This is spot on. Thank you . I 100% appreciate your comment about winning the Super Bowl in 2013 . This organization is damn lucky to have 2 SBs in the last 20 years. Its going to take a helluva FO overhaul and super dynamic coach to lead us to another one in the foreseeable. But Im hopeful and ready for this team to roll the dice and get out of this funkarama. Now.
  15. Yep. The sooner the franchise QB the better. Give Lamar the damn car keys or whomever. We need a QB gamer- someone who loves the game and wills his team to win. Another Ray Lewis kind of guy behind center. Rare, if not nearly impossible gems, but findable.
  16. Hes a lazy good quarterback who caught lightning in a bottle in 2013 when all the planets aligned. When hes got a great OL, super complement of receivers and a strong running game hes a pretty dang good quarterback . When he dont he aint ! Thats our Joe
  17. Yep, it was ugly in 2006 -2007. We endured and then Harbs, Flacco and Rice entered the picture. I can see 2-3 yr of ugliness, followed by competitiveness and playoffs. The sooner the better. Hell, we might even beat the Steelers and Cincy to the bottom and we may all be looking up the Brownies. Ha ha !
  18. Agreed on Joe. I'd give FO through 2019 to determine whether Lamar is the guy. Since there aren't any franchise QBs until 2020, I'd target that year for moving on or retaining, though I think its the former.
  19. Papa said: I said Jackson would set this franchise back 5 yrs but since you have invested the picks in him you have to play it out. I think the Ravens will be a bad team for some time. IDK about 5 years. You play him (Jackson) now - rest of 2018 season and through 2019. We stink in that window of uncertainly anyway. Joe's gone by end of 2019 and you have either a proven Lamar or not, we draft a new, franchise QB by then. If we don't do that, then yes we stink for 3-5 years.
  20. As the old Eagles song goes - 'the heat is on". FWIW- I'd stick Lamar in now, run the experiment, and see if he's the man. I'm not sold on him being a franchise QB - he might very well be - just not sold him. Get him some dang reps at home against Cincy - since they have Joe's number (cover 2) and he will have his normal meltdown after 1st pick. Afterwards, see what the kid has and give it a whirl. Regardless, we should still draft a QB in 2019 or 2020 (latest). We been through this transition before with Billick- Harbaugh. Lets get it on !
  21. I say you bring in a new HC and start fresh with a new QB. Weve seen Joes best, and Im not hanging my hat on Lamar as the next franchise QB. If we make that mistake, we arent having a winning franchise for 3-5 years. Itll take that long to run the Lamar experiment. We need to go the route of the Rams, Eagles and have our HC link up with a new franchise QB. Commit to that strategy now and concede a couple of losing seasons, instead of squeaking out these 7-9 and 8-8 seasons and drafting 15-20. For once, get a dang franchise QB and stop farting around by trading back and missing out on a Calvin Ridley - who we could have easily had this year. Draft a Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and some playmakers on offense. Weve missed the boat all these years; its time to turn this ship around !
  22. I think the team problems are bigger than this, dont you ? Wheres the run game, OL, pass rush, secondary play?
  23. No surprise today. Completely expected. One step closer to team overhaul.
  24. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
  25. It was a wrap w or w/o Stanley & Hurst. The only possible chance of this even being a game is Roethlisberger having a major meltdown (e.g. commits multiple turnovers). There is no other conceivable way this game is competitive.
